AndreTAyodeji: I think i am in support of this,we need to hit this cameroon boys with everything we have at our disposal.Kayode`s speed and counter pressing will be an added advantage for us in the game plus it offers us a fluid attacking frontline as kayode can also play on any of the two wings and he can beat his marker on the dribble and with pace which even makes it easier for nacho as vardy who is kelechi`s strike partner at club level also posses some of this qualities. We can also be rest assured about kayode`s finishing as he has scored more than 30 goals and 15 assists in the past two seasons plus also being voted the best player in the whole league after just two seasons in the league. Also consindering the Senegal game where he came on and play alongside with nacho upfront, he played a very big part in nigeria`s equaliser as his excellent reading of the game enabled him to be able to intercept the ball and lay it off to nacho before the senegalese keeper fouled nacho which led to the penalty which nacho scored. This is just a highlight of what to expect from that patnership. With Victor Moses and Isaac Success on the flanks and a patnership of Mikel and Ndidi in the middle of the park with Mikel playing more like the box 2 box though he doesn`t have the pace for the role but trust him to make up for that with his excellent positioning. So, with incisive throughballs and excellent passing from Mikel and Ndidi,Moses and Success direct running from the flanks,Kayode`s speed on the counter,Nacho`s finishing.I think say Cameroon go hear am that day for Uyo. Are you suggesting we play 4-4-2 formation? |

Icon79: No worries, bro.
Some of us have actually played and coached this game ... at a very decent levels too.
O pari OK....i think with that formation,we are good to go with iheanacho playing as a CF then!!!....he's got some physicallity too though it's not all about being physical. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by bossto(m): 6:15pm On Aug 08, 2017 |
Icon79: Yup. That's why you play him on top as your target man - in a 4-2-3-1 formation. That way, you don't need his involvement in the build up play.
O pari Really??....i never knew this before! Thanks mr O pari |

Icon79: So why make him our out and out striker, if you can't trust him to bury even half chances? And Kelechi can do that. He can bury one out of every three chances, trust me.
O pari Yeah....No doubt!!!...KC is a good finisher but he doesn't have a good build up play. |

Icon79: Again, answer me that simple question: when was the last time Ighalo scored for Nigeria? And to me, Kayode doesn't have the experience to start is such a crucial game. We don't wanna make the same mistake with made with Awazien.
As concerns to Alex Iwobi, I see him more as a creative midfielder, in the mold of Kanu Nwankwo, not a support striker or winger. But reasonable people can disagree.
O pari Hahaha....when was the last time he played and how many games has he played for us ....Now to ur question,he scored against cameroun in the friendly. Kayode not experienced?...Really??...The guy is not a newbie for God's sake broh..huh!!! Now what makes you think KC will deliver playing the CF role?...and how many goals has he scored as a CF?, For the records, ain't belittling Kc's abilities!!! |

Icon79: Oh, please! Brown Ideye is shambolic striker. When last did he score for Nigeria? Do you think that I was kidding when I nicknamed him "Mister Miss-It"?
Omo, right now, there's no place for a starting option for Brown Ideye in the current SE set up. He can be on the bench. To me, our best striker is KC Iheanacho with Alex Iwobi behind him. And VicMo either on the right or left.
Rohr should stop putting Iwobi in the wings. He's not a winger. He doesn't have the speed to operate in the flanks. And he's very ineffective when he doesn't play centrally.
O pari Sir...i beg to differ!!..we have ighalo and kayode who can play the CF more effectively than KC (AGAINST CAMEROUN). Iheancho shuld play behind one of them..while Mikel plays the CM.. Asd for iwobi,he has played more as a winger than a midfielder (behind a striker) for arsenal..but if you ask me,iwobi won't start against cameroun. |

samtol4: What year did we beat them when Eto was playing ? Playing Cameroon in a world cup decider is not child play . They are physically tough and rough. The ticket is between Nigeria and Cameroon but we have upper hand . Oga!!!..they can't win the world cup by being physically tough and rough,so it's not just abt physicallity..Although they have a good team but it shouldn't be blown out of proportion.... |

i don't even understand why Nigerians panic of playing against Cameroun while we have beaten them most of the time we played, even when Eto'o was playing!!
And to think that this same Cameroun couldn't score(if not the pk) against Zambia makes it more difficult for me to understand these buzz about them. |
