Mehn, I was surprised the way Alhassan played, I had never watched him play before.

He will be key in our next match πŸ’―
.... and it will be hard to omit him in our midfield list going forward even if Ndidi comes back.

I'm just happy we now have another body in that midfield, small but mighty!

The best player on the continent presently will redeem himself against CIV on Thursday!

People saying he's average and overrated are funny hence I don't take them serious.

The game is clear. I already stated it. World Cup qualifier that stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the World Cup under Keshi. Uche had a good opportunity and skewed it. Meaning he was not a guarantee for our success.

Finito.
This your post just made me laugh out loud, which world cup qualifiers are you talking about sir?

Many NIgerians seem to fantasize this team as a golden generation comparative to our 90s,far from it......the players presently are average and inconsistent......our so called golden generation struggle against minnows and our coach seems to get the heep of the blame

A good team like Portugal or France will not struggle to beat minnows like Lithuania and gilbratar irrespective of the coach supervising them
Oh please, can you shut up!
Yes we are average and Zimbabwe are world class abi? Senseless post

You don't need any soothsayer to tell you that this team lead by jpeseiro is not going anywhere. Let's just tell ourselves the truth and stop living in denial.
This coach doesn't know more than some of us here, he's just an excuse for a coach. A useless coach that just came to bring the SE to the mud.

Eight attackers, four midfielders lol... Now how many goals your attackers don score??

I'm down with all this rubbish

Last, last, club football is gulf away from national team football.
Yea, Osimhen will always be our first choice whenever he's available. Anytime he plays, people feel his presence, he's just different from other strikers.

My problem is the term "destroy". You can say Ronaldo would be brilliant. He was quite tactical too. Brilliant with both feet, could drift to both wings. Crazy in dropping deep too.

However, there is a misconception people have with players of the past being more talented than players today. I don't think that is the case.

It is a case of players being more gifted today at defending. It is more organized, more calculated and precise. So it is difficult for players to excel with flair or "destroy" teams are we used to see in the past.

So I have no doubt that Ronaldo would be brilliant, I am saying he would not be that dominating as he was in the past.
Here, he will destroy teams means he will score loads of goals. Man, you will have to give it to R9, most strikers we have now would dread to score against those bad ass defenders Ronaldo faced.
If you ask me, R9 will find easier scoring against these modern defenders, that are always careful not to be booked.
Defenders are more careful now, put this also in the equation.

Nope domination is not destroying when we are talking in relation to defenders. Destroying defenders is what Ronaldo did in the late 90s. Haland and Salah are not destroying defenders.
Oga mi rest nah!, To destroy teams means to score a lot of goal against them. Why are you trying to twist it. R9 will do more than Haaland and the present 9s we have now.

By the way, understand the point. Ronaldo made multiple brilliant Solo runs per game. Sometimes 4 or 5. Scored brilliant Solo goals easily. It is no more like that. You guys call it a dearth in talent but I am telling you guys that it is not dearth in talent but growth in tactical defending.
what about growth in tactical attacking and the pressing of the attackers in modern era?? Or do the coaches only focus on the defensive side of the game?

The thing shock me ooo, make I no lie. Tactics no go do everything for a team! If he or pep wan try am, make they come carry Gombe united play Real Madrid for UCL. Arguably, we have less talented defenders now compared to R9 era, it is just tactics that makes them stand out now.

I have never seen Haaland skipping past players the way Ronaldo did. That is gone now.
My brother!, Small small dey talk. Take "skipping past players" out of the equation, R9 was a highly talented player.
Believe me if he's was playing in this era, he would destroy many top teams no matter the tactics used.
Stop arguing this abeg!

Talent refers to oustanding ability, skill and in the context of football ⚽ exceptional performance.

Unfortunately Nwakali absolutely has none of these attributes, he is the figment of several delusional minds here.

He has remained in continuous perpetual mediocrity for the past 8 years. He has no business being in the SE.

At the end of the season his bankrupt team will either be relegated and or remain in doldrums of mediocrity at the bottom end of this poor quality Segundo division.

His team is filled with poor quality players and they will struggle in English league two.

Tell this to the birds, because as it is now I don't mind having a good midfielder from NPLF in our team. Or do you have any player that's better than Nwakali talent-wise?, I know a talented player when I see one and no stats or league he plays is going to change my opinion about him. We need the guy, period!!!

At this point, I don't mind having nwakali a few good midfielders in NPLF in the midfield, Nwakali is slow but even Mikel Obi was, his talent is evident.

A game is mostly won in the midfield but we keep reminding our inept and clueless coaches how important it is to have performing midfielders in our team regardless of where they ply their trades.

Nwakali is a talent, every midfielder mustn't be a work horse, we need midfielders with football sense who can make right passes in a split second.

Secondly, we don't have a coach and we seriously need one

Awoniyi played his best considering it was just his debut for the SE. I knew he would make a good replacement of Osimhen.

Sadiq was so slow for my liking, but l would give him the benefit of doubt cos the match was almost over and our players sat back leaving only him up front.

The coach should also know that Iheanacho, or Olayinka could also player a lone striker in case the formation changes and requires a lone striker.

Good day elders!
