PoliticsHow To Stop Nairalanders From Fighting. by Botango23(op): 12:39pm On Apr 16, 2018
Hello fellow nairalanders.
Have been on nairaland several years ago but since then I notice something familiar/common among nairalanders, which are
1.Hate speeches
2.Hatred
3.Bad responses e.t.c
80% of us are Nigerians which means we are from the same country but still we see ourselves as enemies because of.
1.Ethnic groups
2.Political issues
3.Religious matters.
But to me I think we don't need all this hatred, this forum should be our opportunity to make friends, connections, jobs and so on,our government are bad on us,they cheat us,and do many bad things to us,they focus on how to steal our money and fly abroad, but we as common Nigerian we have no one to help us,or fight for us.
Fellow Nairalanders why can't we make peace with ourselves, on nairaland their are lots of ceo's of different organizations, their are business owners, their are successful entrepreneurs here on nairaland, but because of hatred that is among us we loose so many opportunities, some of us are looking for jobs ,why can't you create a thread and tell readers ur qualifications, who knows maybe someone is right here on nairaland who want to employ new people with the same qualifications that you have, but because of political, religious or ethnic thread you abuse the person who would gave given you job.
Lessons I that I want us to learn are
1.Let's stop descrimination
2.Let stop abuse
3.If you not a Muslim don't read their post/if you not a Christian don't don't read christian post
4.Dont fight over political issues
5.Let us love one another(Hausa,igbo,yoruba)

PoliticsPDP Dismisses List, Challenges APC To Name Convicted Members. by Botango23(op): 9:01am On Mar 31, 2018
In a swift reaction to the names released as looters by the federal government , the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dismissed the list as hollow and laughable , saying it was an extension of federal government ’ s media trial and challenged it to come up with names of its members against whom the federal government had secured convictions.
“The list put forward by the federal government as purported looters amounts to a cheap blackmail, as none of those listed have been indicted or convicted by any court of competent jurisdiction or any panel of enquiry in our country, ” the party insisted .
Its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan , in a statement , yesterday , said the list issued by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed , only goes to show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Presidency have no proof of corruption against the PDP .
He added : “In its frenzy and desperation, the federal government even included names of individuals who are not standing trial or under investigation for any act of corruption, as well as those who are not even PDP members .
“The Muhammadu Buhari - led federal government has manifested its frenzy by going after matters that are in court and in which none of the persons have been convicted, thus betraying their wickedness and desperation to mislead the public and the court and divert attention from the heavy looting involving their members .
“We are not in doubt that the individuals he has mentioned will take their legitimate stride and pursue appropriate action in the court.
However , attacks on individuals, who are members of our party , do not in any way detract from the fact that the PDP , as a political platform, is not a party of corruption .
“It is unfortunate that the APC and its government , under whose watch , horrendous sleazes are happening on a daily basis, and a government that has failed to fulfill the littlest of its campaign promises , can spend a wholesome three years searching for flimsy allegations to discredit our party and its members. ”
The statement continued : “This is a government that is yet to account for $ 26 billion ( N 9 trillion) stolen through corrupt oil contracts in the NNPC ; N 1 . 1 trillion worth of crude diverted to service APC interests ; N 18 billion Internally Displaced Persons ( IDPs ), intervention fund stolen by APC officials , including their former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF ), Babachir Lawal ; the N 10 billion National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), for which members of the Buhari cabal were indicted ; as well as the Mainagate, where the APC government recalled and reinstated an individual indicted for scam running into billions of naira.
“This is in addition to cover provided for serving ministers indicted for corrupt enrichment, among whom is a prominent former APC governor from the South - South , who was indicted by his state for stealing billions of naira to fund Buhari ’ s campaign in 2015 .
“We emphatically say that the PDP is on a rebound and such flimsy allegations by the APC and its horde of looters , who stole humongous wealth from their respective states of the federation to sponsor an incompetent candidate in 2015 , cannot stop us from challenging the federal government to fulfill its campaign promises .
“Since the APC has decided to draw this attack , we will no longer hold back , but appropriately commence a serialisation of all looters hiding in APC and the Presidency . ”

Flets:
Though Buhari is an evil terrorist who does not deserve being a local govt chairman, the trade deal will not favour Nigeria with the biggest market in Africa. Nigeria could easily become a dumping ground for African made goods and our local manufacturers with high cost of power generation cannot compete and will go out of business.
You are right my brother, if we sign the free trade all those small countries will see Nigeria as a dumping ground ,bring in their goods as many as possible, that means Nigeria won't. be able to tax their goods again.I don't support Nigeria to sign Free trade
PoliticsMelaye To Sue IGP Over ‘escape’ Of Gun Suspects by Botango23(op): 2:25pm On Mar 28, 2018
Senator Dino Melaye has threatened to sue the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris over the reported escape of two suspects who accused him (Melaye) of being their sponsor and gun supplier.
Sen. Dino Melaye
Melaye who spoke on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, cited Order 43 to submit that the police had either released the suspects or killed them.
He therefore said that the Police must produce the suspects dead or alive or he would sue the Police IG for intimidation, abuse of power, harrasment and mental assault.
On March 20, the Nigerian Police paraded the suspects allegedly working for Melaye. The thugs were caught with two AK-47 and five pump action guns.
The suspects were billed to be arraigned on Wednesday.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, the Police in Lokoja announced on Wednesday that the supects along with four others escaped following a jail break.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ali Janga said at a press conference in Lokoja that the two suspects ; Kabiru Seidu alias Osama and Nuhu Salisu alias Small escaped at about 3:21 am at the A Police Division in Lokoja where they were being kept in lawful custody.
According to the Commissioner, four other suspects escaped along with Seidu and Salisu, bringing the total number of fleeing suspects to six.
Both Seidu and Salisu escaped in the early hours of Wednesday, a day they were supposed to be arraigned before a Lokoja Federal high court alongside Melaye and Mr Mohammed Audu who was also named by the suspects as their sponsor.
The four other suspects that escaped include Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.
The police Commissioner said that 13 policemen, comprising five operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and eight conventional policemen on duty when the incident happened have been detained for interrogation.
“The 13 police officers who were on duty when the incident occurred were defaulted and detained for interrogation,” he said.
Janga also stated that the names of the six fleeing suspects and that of Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu had been sent for watch listing by the Interpol for immediate arrest anywhere they are found.
He appealed to residents to assist the police with useful information on the whereabouts of the suspects by reporting to the nearest police station.
The police enjoined members of the public to go about their lawful duty as the command was in full control of the situation and determined to provide adequate security

PoliticsFAAC: States Abort Meeting Over N37.76bn Shortage In Nnpc’s Revenue by Botango23(op): 8:24am On Mar 28, 2018
Abuja —The monthly Federal Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, meeting, which began, yesterday, was inconclusive due to discrepancies of about N37.76 billion in revenue presented by the NNPC.
Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris, told newsmen in Abuja that the meeting was inconclusive because of irregularities in figures presented by the NNPC.
NNPC
He said: “Obviously, you are all aware that anything that has to do with federation revenue is statutory and, therefore, constitutional and we must always verify our figures to the last kobo.
“Failing to do so will amount to committing illegality and unconstitutionality. It is on this note that we observe some issues in the figures given by one of the major revenue generating agencies namely the NNPC.
“The committee is of the opinion that until and unless these figures are reconciled, corrected, verified and factual; we cannot distribute the revenue as the case is.
“Let me again be quick to inform Nigerians that we are sensitive with the issue and to the fact that state governments may find it difficult without this money.
“But we have to follow the constitution and the laws for distribution of revenue,” he said.
Also, Chairman, Forum of FAAC Commissioner, Mr Mahmoud Yunusa, said the forum rejected the amount presented by the NNPC because it was far lower than what was projected for the month.
He argued that if the NNPC could not surpass what they presented in February, then they should not present anything less than what they presented the previous months.
He said: “We started this meeting last week and NNPC did not submit their figures until yesterday (Monday), which we were not able to review until this morning.
“This morning when we were reviewing the figures as presented by the NNPC, it came as a great surprise to see that the amount was less than N100 billion.
“So we (states) decided that we will not collect the amount presented.”
“We are contesting the figures because pipeline vandalism has reduced, while crude oil prices have continued to go up.
“On this note, we are wondering why the nation cannot raise enough money through that sector to share to states so that everyone can pay workers, contractors and so on.
“We are well aware that this development may affect the payment of salaries in states, but we cannot hurriedly accept this money and then later cry foul play.
“So, we should all be patient. But we hope that with this latest development, NNPC will do the needful as soon as possible,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a document obtained by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the NNPC paid in N74.06 billion into the federation account as oil revenue generated in the month of February, to be shared in March.
“Compared to the collection of N111.84 billion in January 2018, the February collection of N74.06 billion is lower by N37. 76 billion or 33 per cent.
“We were unable to meet the approved budget as a result of low collection from Concession Rentals and Petroleum Sharing Contracts, PSC, Royalty.
“We wish to note that the sum of N30.5 million for the Misc Oil revenue and N6.11 million for Gas Flared are on transit at the end of Feb. 2018.
“Furthermore, we received 16. 56 million dollars out of the 85.94 million dollars expected from PSC and MCA lifting for the month under review, therefore leaving $68.65 million as outstanding,” NNPC said.

BusinessShould Nigeria Use Nigeria Dollar Or Naira? by Botango23(op): 3:03pm On Mar 19, 2018
Instead of having a problem of dollar risen up today, dollars going down tomorrow, why don't we solve the problem at once by changing our currencies to Nigeria dollars which at the same time equal to 1us dollars, because as for me am not seeing #5=1$ oo,because that what we nigerians hope for,now let uspaying me mathe, imagine a Nigeria man wants to buy $21000 car from the united state of America that means he would be paying # 7,560,000(Seven Million Five Hundred and Sixty Thousand naira) Or a phone that worth $500 equal #180,000(One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira) or maybe the government wants to import a ak47 riffles for 7,000 armies and one ak47 cost let say $3000 which is equall( 10,80,000) Ten million and Eighty Thousand Naira per each soldiers ak47 so Ten million multiple by 7000 soldiers riffle do you know what that is, you can all do the calculation by yourself a dollar is equal #360.We are the one who is loosing when it comes to trading most of the things we are using in Nigeria are imported things, this is not the matter of use in nigeria things as President Buhari is saying, what even make us suffer most is that we are not productive, how many made in Nigeria phone, weapons, steels and aluminum, crudeoil, are we exporting to other countries, we are loosing when it comes to trading for sure it would affect use as citizens of this countries, we are low in technology, education, agriculture, even we are even low in governing our country, so the best thing to do is to look for ways to make our currency equal to dollar,if you want to buy car worth $21000 in America, you will also pay $21000 of Nigeria dollar, let us balance our currency to stop loss of money, what your view on this if you support me use the hashtag #Nigeriandollars and share this post to fellow Nigerian's thank you.My name remain Olaoye Boluwatife Oladapo AkA(BOTANGO)

PoliticsFashola Debunks MDA Debts Of N90bn Claimed By Discos by Botango23(op): 4:50pm On Sep 21, 2017
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatude Fashola has stated that out of the estimated MDA debts of about N90Billion claimed by the DisCos, only about N27Billion has been verified as debts owed by the FGN.

The Minister who stated this while delivering a key note address at the 3rd National Council on Power (NACOP) with the theme: “Complete Power Sector Reforms” in Jos, Plateau State on Thursday said there are invoices which show that other parts of the debt are attributable to service points at States and local governments.
He implored states and local governments to insist that their buildings are metered so that they can budget for and pay for energy they use adding that this will turn out to be cheaper than diesel generated power and also help reduce loss of income by DisCos.

“Furthermore, I urge state Governments to set up small teams with audit capacity to verify debts owed by them and their local governments, ascertain the quantum and develop a payment plan which can then be budgeted for. This will help to reduce the liquidity issues and contribute to the reforms” He advised.
The Minister further pointed out that the Government has finally approved the award of the 3,050 MW Mambilla hydro power project after over 40 years of starts and stops adding solar foot print is growing but not just because of what the FGN is doing but because of what Nigerians are doing in their states.
Fashola who disagreed with those calling for the cancellation of privatisation of power sector by the federal government stated that money realised from the exercise were used to settled staff of the PHCN adding that if cancelled there must be refund which must be paid in dollars with the current rate.
“As we are all aware, there have been comments about how effective privatization has been in the power sector and some people have called for its cancellation which I disagree with.
“However, I agree that there are problems, I understand that 4 (FOUR) years post privatization is a transition period, and some more work needs to be done before the expected benefits of privatization come to fruition.
”That is why we developed the Power Sector Recovery Programme (PSRP) which are a set of policies, programmes and actions aimed at solving Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Liquidity, Metering, Estimated Billing, Energy Theft, Safety and other challenges” he said.
According to him, while the country is beginning to see results of increased generation up to 7001MW on 12th September 2017, Transmission up to 6,700 MW and Distribution 4,600 adding that such result is not yet enough.
Let me state emphatically that everything in the PSRP is based on the 2005 Law and that is why I urge everybody to read it.
In his address, Governor Simon Lalong debunked the insinuation doing the round that Plateau State is in crisis adding that the unfortunate incident that happened in the state capital last week Thursday was nip in the bud and normalcy restore immediately.
According to him, as a result of this, the curfew imposed on the state at wake of the disturbance will be relaxed from Thursday to 12; 00 am to 6:00 am and assured those who want to come to the state not to exercise any fear.

PoliticsFinancial Headquarters Of IPOB Is In France, Says FG by Botango23(op): 1:15pm On Sep 21, 2017
THE Federal Government has identified France and the Diaspora as the sources of funding for the activities of the banned the Independent Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB). This is coming as President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the group’s proscription as had had previously been announced by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ).
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed these while briefing State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said: “We have the records. We know IPOB collects money from many people from diaspora. They collect money from many people in Nigeria they collect money from some foreign countries. This is clear.
“Let me tell you, the financial headquarters is in France. We know but you see, can you as a government stop sending money to your parents? You have to block the sources of finance. That is what I said recently.
“It is incontrovertible that some people in diaspora contribute money to IPOB. Where does he get his money from? We know this as a fact.
“Again, there are a few very naughty diplomatic issues which you need to skip. For instance who does not know that the IPOB internal radio is located in London? We know the diplomatic moves we have been taking and approaching the UK. All the damages it has done but they don’t see it that way. For them it’s about freedom of expression.
“If we have a person in Nigeria openly soliciting arms to come and fight the UK, what would you think of? Would you consider that freedom of expression?
“And this is a country that also has a history. What did IRA do to be labeled a terrorists organisation? They were planting bombs, they were fighting the British army.
“I don’t want any diplomatic row. We know for a fact where the funding is coming from and we are going to stop them but it’s difficult to stop them and we have been working on it and we will not stop.”
Still talking about the sponsors of IPOB, the minister also reiterated his blame on treasury looters and disgruntled politicians, saying; “I think this is not rocket science. Any treasury looter would do everything possible to distract government.
“If by any act, God forbid it, Nigeria is today engulfed in war, and Nigeria is now involved in trying to quell unrest, will the courts be spared?
“What would be the first priority of government? It will be to quell that riot. So, it is a way of distraction to ensure that government is not focused.
“So, it’s not rocket science that a person today who has a case in court or almost going to jail will try and cause confusion. He would go and support IPOB.”
Mohammed dismissed the issue of legality as had been stressed by critics, saying that if the president had been bothered by the legality of banning that group, the country would probably have been up in flames by now.
However, he conceded the rights to any group or individuals who desired self determination in a non-violent way.
The minister gave reasons why IPOB was proscribed, maintaining that it had raised its own security force, armed and engaged in extortion of innocent citizen.
Mohammed praised South east governors for their stand against the secessionist group saying that they have cut off the oxygen IPOB needed to survive.
He said: “But before I proceed, let me state clearly that it is within the rights of individuals or groups to seek self-determination.
“But this pursuit has to be non-violent. Where any group crosses the line by engaging in violence, it risks being cut to size and that’s exactly what has happened to IPOB.
“I am not interested in the semantics or legality of troops deployment or the proscription of IPOB.
“All I know is that IPOB has engaged in terrorist activities, viz: setting up parallel military and
paramilitary organizations, clashing with the national army and attempting to seize rifles from soldiers, using weapons such as machetes, molotov cocktails and sticks and mounting roadblocks to extort money from people, among others.
“To those who have engaged in semantics or legality, I ask: Which country in the world will tolerate those activities I have listed above? Which national army will look the other way when it is being attacked by a band of thugs?
“For those who are fixated with legality, I have good news for them: President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the process of proscribing IPOB, and the procedure is on as I speak.
“But I ask, if the President had been overly concerned with legality, where would Nigeria have been today? If attacks in the South-east had attracted reprisals elsewhere in the country, what would have happened.
“But for the quick action of state governors in the South-east and the North, there would have been a conflagration of immense proportions.
“Permit me to especially commend the Governors in the South-eastfor making it clear to IPOB that it has no support for its violent campaign.
“By its action, the Governors have cut off the oxygen that IPOB needs to survive.
“If the elected Governors of all the states in the South-east have banned the activities of IPOB, who then is the organisation fighting for?”
Mohammed insisted that IPOB was being sponsored by anti-Buhari elements, treasury looters and disgruntled disgruntled politicians.
He added: “I did state, during my earlier interactions, that IPOB is a contraption against the uhari Administration, and that it is being sponsored by those I call the Coalition of the Politically-Disgruntled and the Treasury Looters.
“I stand by that statement despite the noise emanating from the usual suspects. To quote the title of a James Hadley Chase novel, The Guilty Are Afraid. I will add: The guilty are always overly agitated. Good for them.
“Finally, IPOB has decided to externalise its campaign. It has written to governments and parliaments in the West alleging genocide in the South-east.
“Even a dictionary definition of ‘genocide’ does not support that claim.
“IPOB has also engaged in using highly-emotive videos of killings, which it harvested from other lands and were doctored, to hoodwink the international community.”
Asked why IPOB was considered a terrorist organisation when its members do not bear arms, Mohammed said, “I think anybody who has watched Nnamdi Kanu’s videos anywhere he goes to he openly solicits for arms and for funds.
“I have a lot of quotations from him as to the violence intention of IPOB. In one of his videos he said if he is arrested his boys should burn down the country. The same Kanu went on television a few days ago saying he was sleeping at about 4:30pm in his house in Umuahia and then some soldiers were making noises they were disturbing his sleep and his boys stopped them.
“I ask him which country in the world would tolerate this. Unfortunately, Nigerians we have short memories at times, or we tend to be very mischievous because this thing is being turned into, o, the North is persecuting the south east or Muslims persecuting Christians.”
He recalled that the Maitatsine sect was made up of Muslims and crushed by both the Shehu Shagari and Buhari’s military administrations.
He also noted that Boko Haram were Muslims and had been fought by the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s government.
Mohammed added: “Honestly, Nigeria has been very lucky. Last week, there would have been massive bloodshed if reprisals had taken place outside the south east and it didn’t take place because our traditional rulers, our governors and other leaders went out to pacify people and the kind of stories that has been trending on the social media have not helped things.
“As a matter of fact, there was one stating that a major general had been killed, not knowing that it was a retired major that was killed in Benue state over land matters. That would have set the entire country ablaze.”
He further said: “You can imagine what would have happened if the people of Kano or Kaduna started retaliation. So, we are in a very dangerous situation and actually we are sitting on a keg of gun powder.”
Continuing, the minister added:
“Is there anybody here who can tell me which part of Nigeria genocide is taking place? It is not true but of course we are in the era of fake news and artificial intelligence where you can make a video of what is happening in Iraq, super impose pictures in Nigeria and voices and send it. People are gullible including some foreign countries.
“On the basis of that, we have heard some funny bones saying that Nigeria should be expelled from the United Nations because they are perpetuating genocide.
“This government will not stifle anybody’s freedom of expression, but when you cross the line for the sake of national unity, we won’t allow you.”
On Buhari approval of the proscription, Mohammed said: “There is a procedure for proscription. The President must sign the proclamation after which the Attorney General will follow the procedure which he is doing.
“But for me, do you want the President to wait for this to be put into law before you take action and stop looting or killing?
“Where will Nigeria be today if there is conflagration in Lagos or Kano?”

CrimeCourt Remands Four Suspects For Alleged Cultism by Botango23(op): 1:05pm On Sep 21, 2017
A chief magistrate court in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, Thursday remanded 18 year old Chibueze Igbokwe in Prison custody over his alleged involvement in cultism and its related activities.
The incident reportedly took place at the Trans-Amadi slaughter market area of the state on September 8, 2017.
Also remanded with Igbokwe are Ndubuisi Elegbua (22), Inyang Asuquo (24) and Stanley Chukwu (20).
The suspects allegedly belong to Junior Vikings (a.k.a J-Verse) and Iceland cult groups.
They are charged with three count charge bordering on secret cult and its related activities.
The prosecutor Wilson Isaiah, a police Inspector, told the court that the charges are contrary to sections 6(1) and 1(1) of the secret cult and similar activities (prohibition) laws No. 6 Rivers State of Nigeria, 2004.

Christianity EtcThree Major Reason's For Fake Prophet In Nigeria by Botango23(op): 11:38pm On Sep 20, 2017
Hello readers am here to share with you the three main reason why fake prophet and Pastor are many in Nigeria.
1)Money: Yeah lots of Nigerian pastor and prophet are fake because all they want is money, they saw church as a money making business,to bring riches to themselves, you see them with (Private Jet, Luxury Car,travelling around)like they are president son. Well not in Nigeria alone they are all over the world, this doesn't freak me at because it a signal that end time is near.
So many people don't want to go to church again, they are tired of this fake Men of God, they are not men of God but Men of Money. They call themselves, but lied to all Nigerian Citizen that God called them,i know God will judge them soon. Before they perform miracle, they will take money from you,but Jesus said Miracle, healing is free. Why are the Prophet of this generation a thief. Some became false prophet because of Poverty.

2)Fame:Some became a false/Fake prophet because of fame, they want to be popular. They want people to be hailing, praising and even turn them to small god, they perform miracles with charms, they ask for power from the sea mothers, all they want is fame.
They believe in their powers, some are even part of Illuminati, some are high priests, and some are in one secret cult or the other.Am begging all Nigerian to be careful and be watchful of the type of church that you go,dont be deceived by the miracles they perform, they are not real, I pray God will give you the grace to know the fake prophet from the Real Prophet in Jesus name.

3) End Time: This is one of the main reason why there are lots of fake Prophet, the Bible told us that when the end time comes, strange things will begin to happen. So don't be surprise at all, my advice for you is that you should know your God, Pray to God he is always available to answer you.He that watches over isreal is with you. And I pray that Mighty God will deliver you from the Hands of the wicked Prophet let me see your big Amen.
