The fight against insurgency is urgent for the security and stability of an economy. Nigeria has been grappling with insurgency with mixed and gradual success. Nigeria of recent has turned into a society with increased poverty rate amongst its citizenry, injustice and lack of political reform, insecurity is increasing rapidly thereby putting its economic stability at risk. It is little or no development in a society characterized with insurgency, as most foreign investors for fear of abduction would back off from visiting such country for investment. Tourism will be at a decline as the inflow of tourist to visit the various attraction sites in the country will reduce and hence affect the revenue of most recreational and tourist facilities in the country. For Nigeria to succeed in its quest to fighting banditry (Boko Haram especially) it should seek external assistance from othercountries military, because over time their fighters have gained more strongholds in the northern region. Their fighters have Increased tremendously since its affiliation with the Islamic State(IS). Nigeria has always supported the UN and Ecowas in sending troops on peacekeeping in nation's experiencing civil unrest or political clashes. It's high time Nigeria itself employs the same strategy to combat the existence of Boko Haram in Sambisa.The military should send its personnel on training to further enhance their military expertise on modern fighting techniques coupled with the use of sophisticated weapons and machinery to aid them to overpower the bandits. Nigeria should encourage community policing, which is very important because every individual is mandated to monitor the activities o people around our environment(i.e your close neighbour) information on most social vices can be curbed to the minimum if we all act security-conscious towards happening in our closest environment and report suspicious acts to relevant authorities. Security agencies on the other have to protect the safety of the informants(keep them anonymous) to encourage others to follow suit. Herdsmen are rear livestock and have recently clashed with most community dwellers regarding its grazing activities.The government has a vital role to play which is signing an anti-grazing law that will deal with the menace of herdsman ambushing farmlands of villagers, destroying most of its crops in the process all in Search of pastures for its cattle. The government could also enter into dialogue with herdsmen on Ways of either creating a ranch for their livestock to graze in their indigenous states.
