Del York International in collaboration with New York Film Academy held its gala Night last weekend at the Muson center ,Lagos to Mark the end of the four-week film training.
Nollywood stars like genevieve Nnaji, Monalisa chinda, stephanie Okereke were present and they paid tribute to nollywood veteran ,late sam loco efe that passed away on august 7 in Owerri,imo state.     

   In an emotion-laden tribute, star  actress, Genevieve Nnaji described Sam Loco as “a versatile actor who could play any role.”
     Genevieve who broke down in tears said, “Loco’s death was a great loss not only to the entertainment industry but also, to the entire nation.” She spoke in such a manner that also evoked tears from the audience.
      Actress Monalisa Chinda described Sam Loco as the veteran actor they all looked up to in the industry. She described him as a father-figure, adding that he would be greatly missed in       Nollywood.
Other Nollywood practitioners who graced the occasion also described the late actor as “a selfless movie practitioner and icon who gave his all to the growth of movie industry.”

The Grammy-winning artist T.I. was back at a halfway house in Atlanta on Thursday after weeks of fighting with federal prison officials who were upset he traveled with a TV producer and a manager when he was released from an Arkansas prison, his attorney said.
T.I. was initially released from the Arkansas prison and sent to the halfway house on Aug. 31, a month before his sentence for probation violation was up. But a day later he was back in federal custody after corrections authorities accused him of violating prison rules by discussing business deals with the two during his 375-mile journey to Atlanta.

Crippled mother of four, Patience Ogbeide is set to launch her album and will also be performing on stage for the first time in her career on 24 September , 2011 at the St. Leo Catholic Church, Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria
.
        The Sapele-born woman who lost her legs to an accident in 2007 while selling newspapers, explained to  that the money realised from the launch would be used to buy prosthesis worth N10 million for her to be able to walk and resume work again.
    According to her, “I know I can work again and I am sure the prosthesis will help to get my life together. I am appealing to kind-hearted Nigerians and the governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola to attend the launch and assist me.
“Despite my status, I still cook, fry chin-chin; I prepare bottled groundnut and I give my children to sell for me. I am advising and encouraging others like me not to be idle but to do something to help themselves,” she stated.
She attributed her success so far to her husband who she said has really motivated her and after 22 years of marriage has not stopped loving her.
   The album titled: “THANK YOU” is dedicated to all that have been supporting her, including her friends, media houses, medical centres and religious groups.
      The album is a joint effort between her and her husband and only one track out of the ten tracks was an individual performance where she thanked her helpers.
Patience said: “I explained a lot about myself in the album; how my mother left me while I was a baby and I had to be raised by my step-mother; how I grew up in a family where my father had seven wives and 25 children and how I met my God-sent husband.”

Gucci Mane has been sentenced to six months in jail after admitting pushing a woman out of a moving car.

The rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, pleaded guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct. A judge also ordered Mane to complete 12 weeks of anger management classes, plus pay the victim $5,090 (£3,228) for her medical bills and a $3,000 (£1,902) fine.

Amy Winehouse's family has launched a youth charity in her name to mark what would have been the singer's 28th birthday.
Winehouse, who had long fought drug and alcohol problems, was found dead at her London home on July 23. Her family says toxicology reports indicated there was alcohol in her bloodstream but it was unclear whether this had contributed to her death.
