China's Ministry of Culture has ordered music download sites to delete songs by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, the Backstreet Boys and other pop stars within two weeks or face punishment.

The ministry posted a list of 100 songs — including Lady Gaga's "Judas" and Perry's "Last Friday Night" that had to be purged from the Chinese web because they had never been submitted for mandatory government screening.

Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has lost his his wife fuliana of more than four and half decades.She died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.
Lady Evangelist Juliana Obey-Fabiyi who was 67 recently returned from a medical trip to an Indian healthcare centre and was readmitted at LASUTH where she died in the early hours of Tuesday.

They are among 400 new entries in the 12th edition of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, published this month as disclosed by Editor angus stevenson
Another newcomer to the reference book's 24,000 entries is retweet — to repost another Twitter user's message.
Some of the new words describe forms of behavior and communication created by technology. There's cyberbullying, a form of online abuse, and textspeak, the abbreviated language used in cell phone messages. And, of course, sexting — sending explicit photos or messages by mobile phone.

Tecno, a China-based phone manufacturing company and one of Nigeria’s top selling handset brand, is now in a copyright mess over the infringement of Nigerian musicians’ intellectual properties
Affected is Lanre Dabiri, popularly known as eLDee. Tecno, it was alleged, has preloaded different songs, some by Nigerian artistes, onto memory cards embedded in their phones sold without due consultation or permission from the artistes to use the songs. the company is not ready to compensate the acts whose rights were infringed upon.

It was said that instead of the company showing remorse by granting the artiste audience and trying to reach a consensus, it became adamant and arrogant, claiming that it was helping the artistes, including eLDee, to promote their songs and as a result, didn’t owe them a dime.
Following their recalcitrance, the artiste, through his lawyer, has instituted a suit in court. At one of the hearings, the presiding judge had ordered that eLDee and his lawyers should visit Tecno’s local agents and representatives and seize all the infringing phones they find and any documents related to them.
The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has also joined in the case and is investigating the matter

The Minister of Youths Development, Bolaji Abdullahi, has refuted claims that the federal government has endorsed the winner of the just concluded Big Brother Amplified (BBA), Karen Igho, as a youth ambassador.

His message below;
"What I see here is a rising tendency to be sexist in this country in a way that is not acceptable," he said. “I mean someone won this competition last year and he was hailed and hosted everywhere like if he was a hero. We didn’t know what he did in that house. Now, because Karen is a woman, therefore she is what? If it was a man that went into that programme and did all the escapades, will we be treating him like this?”
What we did as a Ministry of Youth Development when we were informed that they will like to visit us, I mean, we welcomed them," said Abdullahi. "That does not mean the same thing as endorsing whatever she did or did not do. No one mentioned anything about role modelling. Nobody mentioned anything about being an ambassador.
