@resortprop

Once again, thanks.
A. There are two houses involved. While one will be for my living the other will be commercialised.
B. The former is in Lekki while latter is in Surulere.
C. All things being equal I should be able to repay N250,000 per month or bulk payment .ie. 6 months upfront. Can this repayment plus plan interest offset the mortgage in 10 years?
D. What is the average interest charged. Will it be fixed or yo-yo.
E. The two buildings has no CofO. Is this going to affect my application?

In my quest to pick a vehicle to buy this week for my personal use. I went to Benin Republic auto market which I presume is the largest auto market in West Africa. Therein, you will find thousands and thousands of various types of new or tokunbo cars, 4x4, CRV, buses, trucks, etc on display for sale.

I have decided to relate my experience with you all. Though this is not my first time of visiting the auto market which covers a large expanse of land. The auto market is located at a place called Ritiz and Mivvo. It costs CFA10OO (N350) for a return transport fare from and to Nigeria border by taxi.

At the auto market after moving around for almost two hours and yet to cover a third of the market. I settled for a Honda Pilot 2003 and Toyota Landcruiser 2003. Herewith are their price details:
1. Honda Pilot 2003 with full option, mint condition, gold colour - CFA 4.2million
Transit to Nigeria border - CFA 600,000
Nigeria Custom duty - N250,000
With CFA1,000 exchanging for N350, therefore purchase+transit = N1.68million, add N250,000 duty
Total cost = N1,93m

2. Honda Pilot 2003 with full option and broken bumper but very clean both inside and outside - CFA 3.8million
Transit to Nigeria border - CFA 600,000
Nigeria Custom duty - N250,000
With CFA1,000 exchanging for N350, therefore purchase+transit = N1.54million, add N250,000 duty
Total cost = N1,79m

3. Toyota Landcruiser 2003 with full option, mint condition - CFA 5.5million
Transit to Nigeria border - CFA 650,000
Nigeria Custom duty - N290,000
With CFA1,000 exchanging for N350, therefore purchase+transit = N2.152mil, add N290,000 duty
Total cost = N2.442mil
Upon duty payment to the Nigerian Custom Service at the Seme border and completion of the paperwork. You are free to drive away the vehicle without any fear of molestation, harrassment by anybody.

I want you NairaLanders to please give answer to these my questions.
Do Honda Pilot 2003 has:
a) The ability to handle everyday movements within Lagos with its attendant hold-ups, go-slows and also improptu trips within Nigeria?
b) Fuel economy?
c) Spare parts easily available in the market? Are they affordable?
d) Can it be serviced or/and repaired by any Honda mechanic?
e) Does it overheat?
I would like to know of any of its flaws and the advantage it has that I did'nt raised.

NairaLanders, your responces will be highly appreciated.

autonomy:
why not make a 20 naira call and get the final price.
Its a pity that you gave the above reply that smacks of pride, arrogance and insult to a potential client whom you are supposed to woo intelligently. Also, why don't you display your selling price to the public instead of playing cloak and dagger game with it. For your information, I am planning to buy a Honda Pilot 2003 this week and thats the reason why I went to Benin Republic auto market yesterday. I saw your offer now and you would have been my best option but for the earlier mentioned two blunders made by you. Unfortunately you have lost me.
I wish you well but I will implore you to rectify the blunders. Who knows, you may thereafter get a buyer after the vehicle has spent over a month on the shelf.

PoliticsRe: 15-Year-Old Used Rail Coaches Are "Good Enough" - Fashola by Bowie11(m): 11:34pm On Oct 17, 2011
The plan and efforts of Lagos State Govt. to build and expand a 10 lane Eric Moore - Badagry Expressway incorporating dedicated lanes for LAMATA Bus (BRT) and Light Rail (Blue Line) was hailed by all and sundry including the ECOWAS States as its benefit is immeasurable. But unfortunately with the reality on ground now and from impecable sources (upon my enquiry) at the 2 construction companies (Berger and CCECC) handling the project. Expectation of early completion of the project won't come to reality until 2016 at the earliest. This is due to the fact that:
1. The Lagos State Govt. is owing the construction companies.
2. By December 2011, Berger (B) will suspend work at the spot they are now - Mile 2
3. The slow pace work of CCECC constructing the rail passage, pillars, bays etc. is affecting the speed and work of B and this is already causing bad blood between them
4. CCECC slow pace is reckoned as a 2 years drawback.
I now wondered what will happen to the coach and engine of the light rail when it arrives Lagos from USA where it has gone for refitting for Nigeria use. Will it be parked somewhere in Lagos at the mercy of the weather elements? Hence it will be delivered between Dec. 2011 and Jan. 2012.
By the conclusion of the contract, will the coach and engine still maintain its standard and safety quality?
Why are the contractors not paid as at when due bearing in mind the strategic position and role they are playing towards the success of the project?
I know that Fashola is a good Governor. Loved by everybody including me, and a good administrator. But it baffles me why his administration is owing the contractors and why don't they find out the ability of CCECC to execute the project before awarding them the light rail contract which has overwhelmed their ability to perform.

BusinessRe: Little Known Ways Nigeria's Richest Pastors Made And Are Making Their Money by Bowie11(m): 6:05pm On Oct 07, 2011
Religion is an opium just like money. People are ready to argue, shout, fight, main, kill for it. I have been priviledged to relate or know some of these 'men of god' one on one and have seen the lies, fake and deceit that goes on. Why will you be forced to pay N200 for a prayer leaflet before you are allowed into Synagogue church hence without it YOU WON'T be allowed in? Why are the ushers selecting, by the way you dress, those that will sit on the ground floor near T.B Joshua and the pulpit, and those that will seat upstair away from him? Though on the positive side, I know of someone that was hamstrung and has a day left to pay his rent unless he'll be ejected. He went to Synagogue met a member who gave him the whole amount he needed in cash instantly. Oyedepo created DOMI (David Oyedepo Ministry). Every employees of Winners worldwide - paid pastors, other workers etc - are employed by DOMI. DOMI's a/c is maintained separately from Winners with Mr. & Mrs. Oyedepo as the sole signatory. The a/c is credited with 10% of workers salary deducted from source; 10% of all the tithe, offering realised from all Winners worldwide; 10% of all sales from Winners publishing house; 10% of the fees paid by students in Covenant University, Kingdom Heritage etc. It is so funny to see the height church money making venture has been taking to since Benson Idahosa started it. Infact, I pity those ones that have allowed themselves to be hoodwinked and psychoanalised by 'men of god'.
