If it was a stolen phone do you think I'll erase it? I assumed every sane person will remove icloud before selling a phone.
Phones / How Do I Bypass The Apple Activation Lock? by BoyCoyToy(m): 3:33pm On Feb 21, 2023
I bought a fairly used iPhone 7 plus in Ogbomosho for a friend to use for her business. When I got back to Abuja where I reside, I decided to erase the phone and give her only to find out the icloud wasn't signed out.

I called the seller immediately and he gave me an email and password only for me to find out later that it's not correct. To cut the story short, I'm stuck on the activation lock page and have been looking for solutions. How do I go about it? I need help desperately.

Dear Nairalanders, I'm a graphic designer that uses CorelDRAW mostly and I use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a few times. I want to get another laptop and I'm having trouble deciding.

I have never used a Mac before and I think it may slow me down a bit in delivering works for the first few weeks and I don't know if Windows run smoothly on Mac.

Another thing I'm sceptical about is using CorelDRAW on Mac.

And my budget is 120k.

Celebrities / Lady Gaga Has Reportedly Ended Engagement by BoyCoyToy(m): 2:07am On Feb 20, 2019
People.com confirmed with Lady Gaga’s rep on Feb. 19 that Gaga and her fiancé, the Hollywood agent Christian Carino, had broken up. “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end,” the rep told People. “There’s no long dramatic story.” People also noted that they split “a bit ago,” which fans had already speculated was the case.

At the Grammys on Feb. 10, fans noticed that Gaga wasn’t wearing her engagement ring at the ceremony; Peoplealso reported that she didn’t thank Carino when she gave her speech for winning a Grammy for “Shallow,” her duet with Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born.

Lady Gaga and Carino first sparked dating rumors in early 2017, when they attended a Kings of Leon concert together. Later, they were seen kissing at the 2017 Super Bowl. That summer, Us Weekly reported that they got “secretly” engaged. As an agent, Carino has worked with people like Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and Miley Cyrus.

Fashion / Nike Launches Another Hot Nigerian Jersey And It’s All You Need To See by BoyCoyToy(m): 6:21pm On Jan 25, 2019
Last year, Nike shut down the internet with the launch of Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup Jersey.

THE NATIVE, a Nigerian hub for music, art, style and football, collaborated with Nike to launch a limited edition jersey, ILÉ.

The jersey, which is on sale for £64.95, was inspired by Adire, traditional Nigerian clothing. The tyre mark repeated pays homage to “monkey post” a style of street football in Nigeria.

ILÉ is a Yoruba word that means “home”. On the arm of the jersey is the country’s calling code for those in diaspora.

Politics / Martin Luther King Jr. said this is his “angriest moment” & it changed everythin by BoyCoyToy(m): 7:06am On Jan 24, 2019
You can talk about black freedom and civil rights without mentioning Martin Luther King Jr. Yesterday was MLK Day, a day set aside annually to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born into a black family and back then racism was at his peak.

Growing up in Atlanta, King attended Booker T. Washington High School, a school for African-Americans. On the ride home by bus, he and his teacher, who is also a black were ordered by the driver to stand for white passengers to sit. Insane right? But it was real.

King initially refused but complied after his teacher told him he would be breaking the law if he did not submit. During this incident, King said that he was “the angriest I have ever been in my life.”

From that moment onward, King became a black activist and went on to achieve the great feat. Though he was assassinated, his dream came true decades later when Barack Obama became President of the United States of America.

Kanye, Jay z, p.diddy etc all into clothing line. grin grin

But he needs to take Nike off and stand on his own if he's really serious about it, to have 100% of profit.

Except he's cool getting little change as endorsement.

This deal pays better. If he gets rid of Nike, the distribution will be to a little class.... Nike has built brand and distribution chain over the years (1964).

This story was on front page 2 days ago.

Why has it been brought on FP again early this morning?

BTW,

That wasn't even the best overhead kick in the champions league last season.

Bale's goal was better,

I know some Ronaldo slaves would start telling us about how he lept 1 million meters on the air,

But Bales goal was in the final.

Not just in the final, but

The goal definitely won the champions league for real madrid because he scored it with the scoreline still at 1-1.

Bad belle, is allowed! U get sense pass the whole UEFA. Come 2019 I'll vote for u as president.

Phones / It Will Interest You To Know Where The Word 'selfie' Was Gotten From. by BoyCoyToy(m): 12:41pm On Jul 06, 2018
A selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a smartphone which may be held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick (Wikipedia).

The word 'selfie' was coined in the olden days (2002). A drunk guy took a blurry photo of himself and posted it on social media for people to see and boom, It was called a Selfie.

You must be wondering what social media platform he posted his photo in 2002. Well, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc weren't existing in 2002. Social media has a history dating back to the 1970s. 'Dr Karl Self-Service Science Forum' is the place the guy posted his selfie.

Before 2002, people were already taken photo of themselves but was not called selfie then. Selfie was awarded 'word of the year' in 2013 by Oxford Dictionary.

TV/Movies / Will Genevieve Make Nollywood Proud In The New Avengers Movie? by BoyCoyToy(m): 7:54pm On Feb 02, 2018
Early this year, the news of popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele being listed on the cast of Avengers: Infinity War was everywhere. Few days later, we heard she's been replaced by her colleague, Genevieve Nnaji.

After so much excitement that a Nollywood actress will be staring in a Hollywood blockbuster movie, I am left with so many questions. Will she really star in the movie or will be replaced later with a non-nigerian black? Even when she acts, how will she show she's from here?

But it's a good development though. Nollywood is now on the international scene as movies like the wedding party 2 is grossing revenue internationally

Crime / Two Secondary School Students Drown In Akwa Ibom by BoyCoyToy(m): 3:40am On Dec 11, 2017
Two secondary school students in Akwa Ibom State drowned in Qua Iboe River, Eket, on Thursday.
The students, who were in SS 2 at a private school, Alex Commercial Secondary School, Idua, in Eket, have been identified as Aniekan Harry and Uche Okoli.
Their corpses were recovered on Saturday, two days after.
The drowned students were said to have been in the company of six other students when they sneaked out of the school to play football near the river.
The two were said to have insisted on swimming in the river, after finishing the game.
Despite warning from their fellow students, one of them jumped into the river and wasn’t able to come out again. The other slipped and fell into the river, said Owen Oscar, who was among the other six students.
Master Oscar said he and the other students called in the marine police officers and some other people who were around the river bank at the time of the incident. He said some divers searched the river for the two students but were unable to find them.
“The marine policemen advised us to go and tell their parents what happened,” he said.
Asuquo Ekong, the Principal of Alex Commercial Secondary School, confirmed to reporters that the drowned students were from his school.
Mr. Ekong said that the school authorities weren’t aware that the students went outside the school premises to play football.
Mercydonia Harry, a relative of one of the drowned students, however, alleged that the other six students went to the riverside to initiate her brother into a cult.

Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, has said that at least six additional secondary schools will be fully rehabilitated, furnished and equipped in 2018 as part of his administration’s ongoing effort to turn around the state’s education system.
Speaking yesterday when he visited Government Secondary School Nangere to inspect the renovation and equipping of the school, the governor said he was impressed by the new look of the school.
The sum of N490 million was used to renovate or build structures that include staff offices, classrooms, hostels, dining hall, laboratories, and perimeter wall fencing.
The renovation works also included the provision of furniture for offices, classrooms, student hostels, staff quarters and library as well as the provision of equipment, chemicals, reagents and other supplies for biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories.
GSS Nangere is one of five schools that were fully renovated, furnished, and equipped by the Gaidam administration at over N2 billion. The other schools are GSS Yunusari, GSS Gwio-Kura, GSS Fika, and GGSS Nguru.
“Staff and students here in this school now have a conducive environment. While I congratulate them, I call on the staff to use the opportunity to provide the best possible training to our future leaders,” Gaidam said.

Education / How A Woman And Her Daughter Killed A Teacher by BoyCoyToy(m): 12:46am On Dec 07, 2017
A secondary school teacher has been reportedly beaten to death in a community in Anambra State, by a mother and her own daughter.
For allegedly flogging a teacher to death in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra state, a middle aged woman and her daughter have been arrested by the police.
According to Daily Trust, the deceased, simply identified as Rita, an Igbo teacher and class mistress at Starlight Secondary School, Ogidi, was said to have slumped and died following alleged brutality by the woman, her daughter and another man.
Daily trust reports that the deceased had flogged the student, the daughter to the woman, simply identified as Chinaza, over her refusal to sweep the classroom.
A teacher in the school, who prefered anonymity, said the deceased, had on entry to the class that fateful morning, queried why the classroom was unkept, and demanded from her students who was responsible for the sweeping.
“She was told that Chinaza was supposed to sweep the class before going home the previous day, but she did not.
“When she asked her the reason for her negligence, the girl responded in a rude way that angered the teacher and she had to flog her.
According to him, while she was being flogged, the girl quickly ran out, scaled through the school fence and made straight to their house, where she narrated her ordeal to the mother.
“The mother hurriedly rushed to the school together with sticks in company of her daughter and another relation,”he said.
He however said the trio were unable to meet the deceased on arrival at the school as the teacher had left for a meeting outside the school premises.
“All efforts by some of us to calm her down and allow the school authority to handle the case, proved abortive as she swore to revenge by herself,” he said.
Daily trust however gathered that the deceased was later intercepted at the entrance to the school gate by the trio while on their way out and immediately pounced on her, beating her to death.
When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer, incharge of the area, Mark Ijarafu, confirmed the incident, saying “We have arrested the mother, daughter and one other person.
“The corpse of the teacher has been deposited at Iyi-Enu mortuary, while investigation is ongoing,” he added.
