Before you decided to venture into/pursue music, you must have already known that the big bucks wasn’t going to start rolling in immediately.

It’s a well known fact that until you can earn a living being a full-time musician, you’ll need to do some other things on the side to help pay the bills and supplement your income.

To do this, you need to find flexible jobs that wouldn’t encroach on your studio time or other music-related things like gigs, tours, and writing, while helping you be a little financially stable.

The 6 jobs below can help you work part-time as a musician before you start earning a full time living with your music career.

6. Sound technician

Learning all about sound tech and using the knowledge practically, is another way you can make money on a part-time basis.

A lot of music venues, studios, event centres and even churches, are always in need of people who know their way around things entailing sound technology.
Or if you are the kind that loves to travel, you can reach out to touring agencies like Glo Fest, Star Trek, and others like that to work for them during the tour.

5. Uber/Taxify driver

If you have a car, then being an Uber/Taxify driver certainly can’t hurt your chances of making money at all. If anything, it’s a really decent way to make some side cash.

You get to choose your own time, and you don’t have to report to anyone. It’s pure convenience and a good way to make money part-time.

4. Graphic designer
Did you know that TB1 was (and probably still is,) a graphic designer? Even though graphic design is kinda specialized, if you have the patience to learn, coupled with your creativity, you can start making some beautiful work in no time at all.

The Founder of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to a recent confession in his church by his erstwhile accuser, Stephanie Otobo.
Canada-based Otobo had accused the clergyman of engaging in an extramarital affair with her and promising her marriage.

Suleman strongly denied the accusation.
However, on Saturday, January 27, Otobo recanted and confessed that she was paid heavily by some politicians to smear the clergyman’s reputation.

Taking to his verified Twitter account, Suleman said:

Zealand singer and song writer Brooke Fraser won the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “What a Beautiful Name” at the 60th Grammy Awards in New York.

Besides her hit single “Something in the Water” Fraser was also an active member of the Hillsong church’s music composition team.

“What a Beautiful Name” was Fraser’s smashing single that contributed to winning Billboard’s Top Christian Artist of 2017 and two Dove Awards for Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year in 2017.
The song was composed in December 2015 in Sydney, Australia, for the upcoming Hillsong Conference.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is focused on delivering on promises made for his current term rather than thinking about the next election, his vice president said on Thursday.

Buhari, 75, has not publicly said whether he will contest the February 2019 election. Political insiders have privately questioned his willingness or ability to keep the top job after he spent much of the past year in Britain being treated for an undisclosed ailment that left him visibly weakened.

American Christian rapper, Lecrae Devaughn Moore, popularly known as Lecrae recently took to his Instagram page to pour out his heart. In recent years, the Grammy® award winner came under scrutiny for saying he doesn’t want to be labeled a “Christian Rapper”. He has also been in the news for speaking up on political issues.
When I made my album I didn’t title it “All Things Work Together” because I believed it…but because I NEEDED to believe it.
This outpouring might come as a surprise to a few who describes Lecrae as a pillar in the gospel rap scene. However, loyal fans know him for his openness in his songs and interviews.

Because of the thought I need to communicate, I have used two words in inverted commas. That’s because The phrase HIT SONG is a term I shy away from, especially when it has to do with music ministry. And that’s because many times it creates a wrong impression and understanding of what music ministry is about. And besides, the phrase “hit song” can be very subjective. Because what we may regard a hit song may just be an earthly idea and not necessarily God’s sometimes.

Now to my thought. One of the dangers of having a known song or songs is that if the opportunities that follow, I.e, the accompanying invitations, fame and attention, are poorly managed, the new experience may hinder you from doing the things and being in the place you were when the revelation(s) came. Established music ministers would understand this.

After a while, you become very busy to stay in the “place” (spiritual place that is) you stood to experience the truth you expressed in the songs that have now made you known.

So for me, from time to time I have to check my heart, withdraw and ensure that I’ve not lost that child like enthusiasm for the Lord and yearning for His presence.

Guys! Let me tell you, it’s difficult to maintain that fire and oil if you are not careful.

That’s why after a while you begin to hear shallow songs and works from people whose works had before now caused such a Revival in the lives of people.

We must constantly seek to minister from an OVERFLOW.

When you begin to see that you are not excited about spending time with God, in private worship, word, prayer and fellowship, STOP. When your heart gradually gets hardened and unresponsive to the things of the Spirit STOP. When you begin to have a sense of I KNOW HOW THIS THING WORKS, and you no longer have to depend on the Spirit for help. STOP & return to your first love. Rev 2.

A pastor and farmer identified as Tay Martins, has bared his mind on the Fulani herdsmen saga which has been rocking the country for months now. According to him, there is a group of a vicious and sinister nature that are orchestrating these killings and trying to manipulate Nigerians into believing it’s Fulani herdsmen.

Let me start by saying i used to be a big supporter of President Buhari. I still like him, but my approval rating of him has dropped; and this has nothing to do with the ongoing killings by herdsmen. I have been trying to assess the herdsmen situation from several point of view. If you carefully engage the sixth sense, you will agree with me that certain things concerning this menace does not add up.

My opinion of the above: One: the pastor received an intelligent report about those who were behind the killings. In my belief: that intelligence report was credible and genuine. But someone somewhere, who wants the pastor to disbelieve the credibility of the report wrote him the letter purporting to be from Fulani herdsmen. Purpose of which to steer up religious sentiments in this killing saga and to consolidate our thinking that the killers are Fulani herdsmen, contrary to what the report might have stated.

What i see here is a manipulation. There is a group of a vicious and sinister nature that are orchestrating these killings and trying to manipulate Nigerians into believing it’s Fulani herdsmen. As for me, the letter they sent to the pastor just gave out their schemes. This manipulation is the handy-work of a group of syndicates, somewhere.

My Fulani Story:

I am a Pastor and Farmer. I share a river from which I irrigate my farm with Fulani herdsmen. There they bring their cattle to drink water. There is a large stretch of my land that are yet to be cultivated. Sometimes I see these herdsmen feed their cattle of that part of my land. At first I was worried and apprehensive of them bringing their cattle on it but from the distance where I watch, I saw them standing guard, preventing any in the cattle from coming onto the cultivated farmland. I saw how they speak languages (like a warning) at the cow and the animal obey by stepping back. I also watch how they beat (with their staff) the hell of out of any cow that dare step into my farm. One day I walk to them. As they saw me coming, they came towards me smiling like they already knew my worries. They greeted and spoke to me in fluent Yoruba language.

They told me not to worry about my farm; that they would secure it from the cattle. Then they begged me for water. I realize they could not drink of the river when and after the cattle steps in. So I took them to one of the surface tanks on my farm and told them they could come for drinking water as much as they need. They just took enough in a water bottle and left. At another time I engaged them in further discussions, where they told me that cattle belongs to one popular Yoruba –my tribe’s man. That they are only workers skilled in the keeping of cattle, working for my tribe’s man. I was amazed to hear that.
