forget the dead left wing, the honest truth is that dembele isn't good enough, or isn't of the required level. He shits his pants when he's needed most. Take a look at vardrid and their run towards the UCL final last season, even with some modric genius here and there, their plan was "get the ball as fast as possible to vini and let him work his magic alongside benzema". And it was always effective. That can never work with dembele, he'll fail terribly and it's shown time and time again. Imagine attempting 24 crosses and just 4 were successful. Barca's play under Xavi has been too heavily dependent on wing-play. Yes it may have worked in Liga pushing us to the top but when we face more physically savvy opponents like Bayern & Inter, our wingers are rendered sterile.

Xavi has to create a balance so we can find alternatives. Barca used to be a team that was dangerous through the middle, now it's almost non existent. He needs to leverage on Pedri, Gavi & FDJ to improve our central attacking play at least so we wont be as predictable as we currently are with Dembele and Raphina. At least before, it was the UCL latter stages where we stumble. Now we are struggling in group stages. Something needs to change drastically.

If dembele was not good, i remember even Guadiola wanted him during the opening of the last transfer Window.
