Is PTDF going to publish the list in any of the dailies(news papers) and which of them if I may ask?

Well the 19th of July 2018 will alway be a day to remember for me. It was a day filled with mixed feelings of sadness as well as happiness. The sad thing is that I was not successful in both the uk and fgc PTDF scholarship. And on the same day I was awarded a full scholarship by the Chinese scholarship council csc. I believe if one thing doesn't work for you, there is something special coming your way. By the way, congratulations to the latest PTDF scholars in town. hod bless.

The only problem I see with that is not knowing whether you'll be granted study leave just after a year of working.

Weigh your options carefully and pray for guidance...Congrats.

Levels 4 to 8 (or 9, can't remember) get paid every February. Step 2 (SSS4) is approximately 20k more than step 1.

Salary for SSS4 step 1 varies from 147k to about 155k. However, your upfront is about 500k which is then deducted every quarter.

An example of your pay every quarter would then be 80k, 150k and 150k and the cycle continues.

FINAL REPORT ON PTDF OVERSEAS 2018/2019 SCHOLARSHIP

PTDF has concluded the overseas interview, candidates who were shortlisted in all categories have four chances; France, China, Germany and the UK. Whether you have received email or not from PTDF, u all still have equal chances to be selected.

The first category; France/China/Germany results are ready.But to avoid one candidate winning both categories, the names have not been published yet. All things being equal, winners in all countries will be published probably around June after the UK selection process which is currently being scrutinized.

This year will have the highest ever number of Oversea Scholarship winners thanks to the Strategic Partners who are offering a tuition-free scholarship. [/b]Selection is based on the quota system which is the government constitution. Hence, you are competing with the candidate from your states and not the general populace. [b]So don't play the tribal card if u are not selected as tribalism as nothing to do with it. Your slot can only be awarded to your fellow state kinsmen. In addition, more slots of winners are given to Nigeria oil-producing states which is understandable.

For all winners in all categories, you will be required to sign a bond which signifies that you must come back to Nigeria after your studies. But PTDF might allow you to stay for a fixed period for work experience in your field after their approval as before work visa is granted, ur sponsor will be contacted. Overall, u will need to plan well and focus on your study and life after studies. U are also allowed to defer your scholarship within one year hence if working u can apply for ''study leave without pay'' for your job to be secured when u come back. For those who are not working yet, the degree will give u more opportunity for job not only in Nigeria but any where in the world. It will give u more chance of scholarship for the advancement of studies or for migration purpose if you don't get jobs when u come back as jobs are hard to come by.

You might be tempted when u are abroad to do abnormal things to feel among. But remember Nigeria especially your family or friends who are struggling. Better to help Nigerians rather than outsiders. Also, save money, so u can plan well and be in control in whatever choice when u come back to Nigeria for the advancement of your career. Congrats in advance to the overseas winners which will definitely be among nairalanders here as it is always. For those who wish to study in Nigeria (have applied for admission) or are currently studying in Nigeria, PTDF did not forget you. Local application will be out in June.

I and bb12008 had told you and everyone with certainty long before that the strategic partnership is a free tuition scholarship and PTDF will just spend only living allowances, therefore, saving costs through bilateral agreement. PTDF has finally commented.

PTDF needs the strategic partners' approval to accept the people they recommend. So just because one received a mail as regards Germany doesn't mean u should start celebrating. If u don't meet what the partners require, u will be removed.

The UK Scholarship is controlled solely by PTDF. If people here state something, say your own opinion. You don't need to act childishly and mock them just because they oppose your view. People here commenting are top people who only just want to guide u and are not applying for a scholarship.

@all. I will tell u more info to guide u when d interview finishes probably Saturday so u all can plan well.

So in your mind I'm a small person who needs to be guided. You are very funny. First of all nothing was aimed at you. Secondly, the information you gave then was wrong. Just so you know the people who got the mail for Germany are academically sound with top notch credentials. Your methodology is wrong. I get my info from PTDF ,not from nairaland. Thank you.

Where is the venue for the port Harcourt interview. Somebody please help me. I just got a reminder email this morning to attend the interview session whereas there was no prior email stating the date or venue of the interview in Port Harcourt.

I am one of the PTDF Scholars in France, studying in one of the Grande ecoles . From my experience from the PTDF Scholarship. The fact that PTDF has recommended you implied that you have gotten the scholarship.

I will however clarified something for you people, it was not as if DAAD will be the one funding your scholarship, it is still the PTDF funding the scholarship, they are just trying to harmonise the scholarship for greater efficiency and also to reduce cost, without compromising on quality.

I was supposed to go to Germany, I missed out when we were asked to upload the document on DAAD website, because it was not properly coordinated during our own time, even though I got admission to TU Berlin. DAAD could not do anything again regarding my visa, that was the reason why I came to France in order not to waste another year.

So congratulation to all the shortlisted, if you are not been follow from the village, those that got the e mail are the successful one from the Germany point of view.

Those coming to France , I think will also be updated.

Perry thanks for clarifying what I've always known, what I still know and what I will always know. I was told this from someone in the PTDF Office too. But those people who know too much always have a way of passing wrong information. I didn't even bother responding to their claims cos I knew it was baseless.

No that's not true. If you are going to Germany on a registered Scholarship you'd have to register on the daad portal.

I cant wait for the list to be published on their website(ptdf website) so we can stop the guessing and analysis and funny ideologies. But congrats to all of us who got a message today. I will celebrate fully when the list is out.

90 persons where contacted as I can see from my email. Thanks Moonie. From the mail it was addressed to both MSC and PHD.

That mail was sent to 78 candidates, (I have read it my friend got it) if you remember thatduring the application, we were informed to register with daad if you chose any school in Germany. Maybe those 78 candidates didn't register with daad during the registration and the said mail is to remind them to go and do the needful. Which ever way, let us chill. Congrats guys. I filled the Daad form when I applied and I still got the mail. The only people who should be hopeful are those who do not have Germany as part of their choices.

Guys if you got the mail, you've made it for the schorlarship, and one of your choices is Germany. If you didn't get the mail and Germany is among your choices, then You didn't make it through. Stop reading all those wrong ideologies written by people and channel your energy to the UK scholarship.

You are under Environmental and not Engineering.

Imagine a topic like Social Engineering, does it have anything to do with engineering as a discipline- No, it is just extended use of the word engineering.

Don't be so sure...... Take a look at the Department of the particular course in the university in the UK and you'll find out that Civil and Environmental Engineering are mostly linked together in one Department.(it's an Engineering discipline). He stands a better chance of being selected in the Engineering category as more chances are given to applicants in that category than the Management category as I was told from my source.

Environmental monitoring is under Environmental and management though. I understand the point you are trying to make by giving the instance of "social engineering", but that's not how we should relate it in this case.

I Chose my centre during application. I still got the centre update mail though I had already filled it out earlier on. When I log in, I see the dialogue box and it shows what I updated during application.

If you didnt get the "update mail" it means you were not shortlisted.

F/G/C List is still being updated. I'm guessing the awardees will get to know anytime soon.
