Politics / If Anything Happens To Buhari, North Will Insist On Two Terms In 2019 – Junaid by Bravo123: 4:55pm On May 14, 2017
A prominent Nothern Politician, Junaid Mohammed, has warned that Nothern Nigeria will insist on completing President Buhari's two terms if anything happens to him and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo assumes office as President.

Mohammed, a member of the house of representative in the second republic made the disclosure in an interview with Sunday Punch.

Junaid's declaration is coming on the heels of calls by some Nigerians and civil society groups who has called on President Buhari, currently on medical vacation abroad to step down.

Below is the full details of the interview...

Buhari has refused to address Nigerians concerning his state of health. Do you think that he should have done that before travelling out of the country again for medical treatment?

Ideally, I think he should have done so even though there is no law which requires him to do so. It would have been better for him to calm the nerves and the psyche of the nation because of the uncertainty which has bedevilled the country (because of issues surrounding his poor health). There are a lot of rumours and occasionally, some opportunistic and reckless statements emanate from some characters who are active players in the political circle, including non-politicians. I wouldn’t want to hold that against him because before he left, there was no indication that he was going to leave in a hurry. Being a professional in that field (health care), when a patient leaves in a hurry because the doctors handling his case insist that he should leave in a hurry, we must not make an issue out of that.

It is important that he travels to take care of his health. I am glad that for the second time he has left the country to seek medical attention, he has the presence of mind to send the requisite letter to the National Assembly – apart from the hiccup caused by somebody who smuggled in some irresponsible and reckless expression into the letter. This is somebody close to the President; the person was so lousy to input certain motives into the letter – thank God the constitution and reason prevailed.

As a medical doctor, what do you think is the true state of health of the President? What do you think he is suffering from?...

Nairaland / General / My Husband Slept With My Maid And Was Going To Kill Me- Mercy Aigbe by Bravo123: 2:05am On May 14, 2017
Mercy Aigbe the Popular Yoruba actress and business woman has opened up on the torture she has been put through by her husband. In an interview with Broadway TV, the embattled actress threw more light on the crisis that has engulfed her matrimonial home and why she stayed on despite being constantly abused by her husband, Mr. Lanre Gentry.

A few weeks ago, you initially said that your husband didn’t beat you but you later came out to say that he beat you regularly. What do you want us to believe?

In the midst of all this crisis, I have never granted any interview and I have never for once come out to say my husband didn’t beat me. It was in 2013 that I had an interview and it was to address the news that went viral then that my husband beat me and we had to record a video at that time. He has consistently beaten me.

What did you do after the incident and how brutal was the beating?

After it happened, I met with my husband’s younger brother and told him that my husband would just kill me one day. He is not ready to get help or go for therapy to manage his anger problem. I told him that the last incident was brutal and Lanre almost killed me. I actually thought I was going to die. I also told him that I did not feel safe anymore. For a very long time, I had been living in fear in that house because any little argument led to me being beaten up by my husband, even in front of my children, domestic staff, and neighbours. I moved out because I was finally fed up. I was scared for my life because a lot of people have died in the process of being beaten up by their husbands. I just wanted to feel safe and that was why I moved out. Four weeks have passed after the incident, and I am still coughing blood.

Why did you take him to court?...

Nairaland / General / Scientists Query Igbo Ways Of Measuring Penis Length by Bravo123: 12:49am On May 13, 2017
Three Nigerian researchers have queried a popular way of measuring a man’s penis length among the Igbo.

The scientists note that among the Igbo, it is believed that the length of a man’s penis can be guessed correctly, based on his physique and the size of his buttocks.

The scholars submit that while that postulation does have a scientific basis, their findings are actually the opposite of that traditional way of measuring the penis length.

In a study published in the West African Journal of Medicine, researchers at the Nnamdi Azikwe University, comprising Dr. Orakwe Jideofor Chukwuma of the Medicine Department, Dr. Ebuh G.U., and Dr. Ogbuagu B.O. note that in Nigeria, especially among the Igbo tribe, there is a well-held belief that a man’s penis size can be predicted from his physique and the size of his buttocks...

Politics / My Son Will Continue To Agitate For Biafra - Kanu's Father by Bravo123: 11:50pm On May 08, 2017
Source https://alabingo.com
Chief Israel Kanu the father of the self-styled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has said that his son will not back down from his agitation for the Independent State of Biafra despite his incarceration by the Federal Government.

The traditional ruler of Isiama Afaraukwu- Ibeku, Umuahia North Local government Area of Abia State described his son’s bail conditions as unacceptable and therefore urged that they are withdrawn.

Chief Kanu spoke with The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN at Umuahia.

“I call on the federal government to immediately withdraw all the charges preferred against Kanu in the interest of peace in the country,” he said.

“He did not commit murder. He did not carry arms; neither did he commit any heinous crime to warrant such a government clampdown.

“His only offence was that he expressed his opinion in a democracy where people are free to express themselves without the fear of arrest or molestation.

“He is more than 18 years of age and has become an adult. He is capable of having an independent opinion on any issues. So, I cannot ask him to stop pursuing what he believes in.

“The only thing that can assuage him is to allow him to have Biafra and no amount of inducement, even giving him an oil block would stop not him.”

Chief Kanu thanked Enyinnaya Abaribe, a senator from Abia south; Immanuu El-Shalom, an Igbo Jewish Rabbi from Port Harcourt, and Tochukwu Uchendu, a chartered accountant, for securing his release.

He assured them that his son would not betray the trust they have in him and described the two years of his imprisonment as depressing.

“Very often, I kept wondering what would be his fate and hoping also that he would not die in detention. I had very strong hope that God would not allow him to die in the cell,” he said.

He also spoke on how he felt when the IPOB leader arrived at his palace on Friday, after regaining his freedom, saying that he felt very happy and excited.

“He looked quite healthy and strong. His looks showed that the prison warders took good care of him, so I was very happy and impressed when I saw him,” he said.
