SlimHan:Hi slim By arrangement he means you have to get rid of those options in your side bar. As I presume you done use them. Go to your widget option under appearance and remove the options that are not relevant I. E Meta, log in and categories. And the double search. Use wp-admin to login in to your site or just add it at the end of your url. I. E .com/wp-admin/ this should get you to the administration panel of your WordPress site. Here click on appearance and click on widgets the check your page and post widgets to remove what you don't want. Your site speed Is also a tad slow. But since your running a free WordPress blog, speeding it up might be a problem without plugins. Hope that helps. |
Olajhidey22:Hi Ola You might need to contact your domain provide for help on a 301 redirect. They are in the best position to help you with it. |
tuk2ato:nope dear. they ain't. |
jboy73:What you have been doing because others say it works is wrong for you. Find you own way that works for you. |
Olajhidey22:Hi ola Sometimes a 301 redirect might not work, for some reason it ends up doing this for some people I who do it. |
vicky6055:Dude if you got Yoast seo plugin. use it to optimize your posts. The look for the keywords via google keyword planner. |
dav8id:nicely done bruv |
vicky6055:Hi vicky (Peter sam) i have taken a look at your site and i like that it focuses on the health care niche. Which is a good one and a really good niche to go for. Truth, there are a lot of people suffering from medical issues and there is a need to create awareness for it. The question is how can your site create that awareness? 1.The way to do it is by finding people who are interested in this lack of awareness and are willing to help 2.These people will have to come from both Nigeria and the rest of the world 3.They would have to be people who are geniuely interested in helping to change the status quo 4.They would also have to have the finance and funding for effecting the required change. 5.They may work for a group or organisation that can help gather more funds and people of like minds. The million dollar questions are How do you find these people? what kind of Persona's do these people fit? where do they hang out on the web? whats their job profile? What organisations do they work for? Why would they like to get involved? Once you can answer these questions. Then the next thing is 1. Draft content that is unique to your site(Blog posts) that these kind of people will be interested in 2. Optimize the your content and posts with the keywords these people use.(with a friendly dose of call to actions and opt-in forms) 3. Promote the content in places they frequent. 4. Send outreach emails and messages to them(facebook, twitter, linkedin) about what you have written and ask them to share. The above questions may seem like impossible questions, but they are questions that make people go to google or bing for answers. Try see what you can learn about Persona(readers persona's) and how you can find develop the reader persona for your blog niche. p.s I like your current content but it might need keyowrd optimization. So that it focuses on what people are searching for and like me your traffic comes from nairaland and social media, which are good places to grow any blog niche related to nigeria.

fayahsoul:You use crude Palm Oil, thats red oil for cooking stews, soups and frying yam eggs, fish and chicken. Please share your recipe on doing it without getting that Strong palm Oil taste or changing the color of the meal you are using it for. Also which of the vegetable oils do you use, the locally sold one in bottles or the brand names i.e Mamador, Power oil, devon kings or union oil. |
Sodia:Well said Sodia Using godaddy and 1&1, no problems so far. Love their new domain plan, might actually buy it for an online store i am planning on. |
So i then to use google anaylitics alot to track where my site traffic comes from. Over time i have come to notice some realy strange urls refering visitors to my site, these url's don't end in .com or the usually formats. usually they end in .xyz .zx .ml At first i thought these were google or some other search engine indexing spiders, but have come to understand that its not the case. Has anyone experienced the same thing and what did you do to solve it. |
vicky6055:Hi vicky I just posted that as the best response for you. I understand what you asking for, but is that type of blogger with extreme traffic the right option for you. I read alot of Jon Morrow smartblogger(former Problogger), Neil patel, Quicksprout, Brian Dean and Copyblogger articles. One thing they have taught me for my own blog is that there are a lot of ways to build traffic and subscribes for ones blog, and that what works for one might not necessary work for another. In Nigerian blog's, i have noticed that our main focus is on attracting tons of traffic and growing traffic for our blogs, albeit not the right kind of traffic. This why you see a lot of blogs who focus on on niche i.e Agro, having posts and articles on them about tech, gossip and entertainment. because thats what they believe is the big traffic turner for them. Then they include so many ads that have no relevance with their site or their niche, sometimes this pays off with a high spike in unique and New visitors, but their bounce rate is also so high and their conversion and click through rate so low. Since aside from the tech or gossip post, their visitor wasn't interested in their ads or what their site was truly about. Since the course of starting my blog http://the-ahamefulas.com , i have used some of neil's, jons' inbound, growth hacker and a lot of other internet marketers info to set it up and run it. True it falls under one of those blogs that Jon stated that no matter what can't seem huge traffic, This i understand, as tons of traffic wasn't the reason i set up my blog. I set it up for the persona's i have researched that are looking for the right info in that business niche and will pay for that info. i know that these persona's overall monthly search on google are between 370-550 and on bBing are 200-300. Thats a total of about 550 -850 users looking for solutions i offer per month. Because out of that monthly number, i work on converting 50% of them to subscribers and 3-5% to customers. For me, its better to focus on making my site more inbound focused than ton of traffic focused. I understand that this might not work for you Vicky. but i would advice you try it and see what results you get. Brian |
For that Jon hit it well on the money with this The Only Four Traffic Techniques That Work for Beginners As it turns out, only four exist: Guest blogging – If you’ve been hanging around me for long, you know I’m a huge fan of guest blogging, and there’s a reason why: it has the second highest VPH of any traffic strategy for beginners. Used properly, you can quite easily cross 50 or even 100 unique, targeted visitors per hour invested. For a free mini class on guest blogging, click here. Interviews/podcasting – Interviewing influential people and then asking them to share the interview also turns out to be a highly efficient strategy. You can do it as a podcast, or you can record the interviews privately and group them together as an incentive to join your email list. Both avenues have their pros and cons, but either way, the VPH is excellent. Outreach – This is where things get confusing. While great blog posts and infographics have a poor VPH by themselves, they have an excellent VPH when paired with outreach. You have to be willing to face rejection, and your content also has to be some of the best ever published on your topic, but the long-term traffic from this strategy is excellent. Over the short term, it’s beaten by guest blogging and interviews, which is why I typically don’t recommend it until you cross 1,000 subscribers, but it is still an efficient way to get traffic when you’re a beginner. Click here for a detailed guide on how to do it. Advertising – Last but not least, the technique with the highest VPH of all: advertising. The problem? It costs money! If you’re a beginner, you might not be able to afford it, which eliminates this strategy for many bloggers, but if you have a budget of a few thousand dollars, you can save yourself months of effort in attracting your first 1,000 subscribers. In the future, I’m considering launching a new self-improvement blog exclusively with advertising and then doing a case study to prove just how effective it is. See the complete details here https://smartblogger.com/traffic-techniques/ |
It hurts me to write this. For years, I’ve been “the traffic guy.” Not only because I’m good at getting it, but because it’s the question on the top of every blogger’s mind: “How do I get more traffic to my blog?” To some degree, this entire site is an answer to that question. You’ll learn more about getting blog traffic here than maybe anywhere else on the web. But there’s one giant problem… It’s the wrong question. And I’ve known it for years. And I’ve said nothing. Not because I’m an asshole (well, maybe). No, the real reason is I felt like we were serving the needs of the market. People wanted to know how to get more traffic, so we created courses teaching them how. But Then I Noticed Something Horrifying… A large percentage of our students couldn’t significantly increase their traffic, no matter how hard they tried. And the worst part: It wasn’t their fault. They were doing all the homework. They were applying our techniques. Except none of it was working. Not for the vast majority of them, anyway. Why? At first, I thought it was because we sucked. Maybe our techniques didn’t work, maybe the homework was too difficult, maybe we were just lousy teachers. But then I noticed something… A small percentage of students who initially struggled would all of a sudden take off like a rocket. For six months, they worked their butts off and got nowhere, and then BOOM, they would get so much traffic they could quit their jobs and become full-time bloggers. So, I started investigating. What were these students doing differently than all the others? Did they work harder? Were they better writers? Were they just smarter? Did they have powerful connections? Turns out, the answer was none of the above. The only commonality between all of our success stories is they changed the question they were asking. Instead of asking how to get more traffic, they asked a different, much less obvious question. And it changed everything. The Single Most Important Question for Beginning Bloggers Ready to hear the question? Here it is: “Is my blog capable of getting traffic?” I know, it probably doesn’t make any sense. Is it capable? Of course it’s capable! Every blog is capable of getting more traffic. Right? Actually… it turns out the answer is no. People think you can build a popular blog about anything, but you can’t. Of course, that statement isn’t surprising in and of itself. It’s logical that some really bizarre topics like square tomatoes or diamond drill bits could never support a popular blog. But the reality is worse. Far worse. The Brutal Truth about Building a Popular Blog After working with thousands of students, I can confidently say there are only a few hundred topics where blogging really works. For instance, ever noticed how many parenting blogs there are? Or marketing blogs? Or social media blogs? There’s a reason why. Blogging works really well for those types of topics. But there aren’t any popular blogs about retirement, weddings, or becoming a better real estate agent. And here’s the real shocker… There never will be. Yes, there are millions of people interested in those topics. Yes, it seems like you should be able to build a blog around them. But you can’t. Doesn’t matter how hard you work. Doesn’t matter how smart you are. Doesn’t matter how many connections you have. It’s impossible. In fact, it’s impossible to build a popular blog around 99% of our passions. Let me explain why… The Seven Tests Every Blog Must Pass For months, I researched what blogs succeed and fail, and I found seven criteria or “tests” every blog passes before it becomes popular. And here’s the thing: To have a viable blog, you need to pass all seven tests. If you can’t, your blog will never succeed, no matter how hard you try. On a more positive note, passing all seven of these tests practically guarantees you can build a popular blog. All that’s left is doing the work to make it happen. Ready to find out what the tests are? Here you go: Size. The vast majority of popular blogs have a total market size of at least 5 million people. And that’s a minimum. Most top 100 blogs have a total market size of 200 million or more. To be clear, that’s not how many readers they have. That’s how many readers they could have if everyone with an interest in the topic read their blog. Age. The vast majority of blog readers are between the ages of 30 and 55. If you’re targeting an audience younger or older than that window, such as teenagers or baby boomers, it’s almost impossible to build a popular blog, simply because these people don’t like reading blogs. Not yet, anyway. Longevity. Because blogs publish content on an ongoing basis, you need an audience that has an ongoing interest. Ideally, it’s a topic like personal finance or social media that changes all the time, and so people want to read about it forever. What you don’t want is a topic like wedding planning or pregnancy, because people are only interested in those subjects for a few months. Language. In general, blogging as we know it is confined to the English language. Yes, it’s totally possible to build a popular blog in Japanese or Spanish, but the traffic techniques are totally different, and it’s much, much more difficult. In my opinion, it’s far more efficient to use other more traditional methods to build the audience, such as advertising. Network. For a blog to really take off, you need an audience who is networked with each other through social media. Moms talk with each other on Facebook, foodies hang out on Pinterest, bloggers and journalists are big on Twitter. As a result, they are easy to reach. If your audience isn’t hanging out on a particular social media platform, on the other hand, it’s almost impossible to get any traffic. Influencer. If a blog topic is viable, you pretty much always find influencers who have already built up their own audiences in the space. Sometimes they are bloggers, sometimes they are podcasters, sometimes they are best-selling authors. The key point: with a little research, you can easily find 5-10 influencers or “thought leaders” already dominating the space. If you can’t find any, there’s always a reason why, and it’s never good. Desirability. Last but certainly not least, you need to like the audience. Surprisingly, this is the number one reason a blog stalls out following a period of rapid growth. After attracting a small audience, the blogger discovers they can’t stand them, and they stop writing because it’s not fun anymore. The moral of the story: make sure you like the people you are trying to attract because you’ll be hanging out with them for years. Are You Depressed Yet? Chances are, your blog fails at least one of these tests. And you know what that means, right? It’s curtains. Goodbye, dear one, we’ll remember you fondly forever. At least as far as getting a bunch of free traffic is concerned. You can absolutely continue writing, but it’s never going to attract a lot of readers without spending a fortune on advertising, and I’m guessing that’s not your cup of tea. The Good News… You can always launch a new blog. If you choose a viable topic, you might even be a little stunned by how quickly it grows. Because you see, it’s easy to grow a blog that passes the above tests. This blog got 4,379 visitors on the very first day I opened it. Granted, some of that was due to the promotion strategy I used, but a big part of it was I chose the right topic. https://smartblogger.com/traffic-open-letter/ |
Ademat7:Its already been done by Pz Wilmar and Presco, these are the only companies that are actually refining Palm Oil for cooking.(Mamador and Poweroil.) Others are already looking at getting into the business. |
popye:Dude mywapblog ain't a hosting site. Look for a hosting site and buy hosting |
popye:Your mywaphost should provide procedures for that. And a place to enter it. Else get their name server details for your account on my wap blog host and plug it into your godaddy account |
Yes lad you can earn money from blogging but it sounds like you have a long way to go. As the poster up above said. Google about how to start a blog and what a blog is and how to make money from a blog. Once you are done with that. Next Google about Internet marketing and inbound marketing. Do as many free courses and YouTube videos to learn what they all are. Head over to hubspot inbound marketing course and register for the the free course. It's an eye opener on the right way to blog and to get to know who your are blogging for and where your traffic will come from. Once your done with all of that, then it's time to ask yourselves these questions. What are will you blog about? What niche do you want to focus on? What volume of visitors are available in that niche? What are their pain points? What pain points will I blog on? What solutions can I provide for them? These questions when your ready will help you working on growing your blog for the right audience you want. Good luck and get started now!!! |
Wow, thanks for the info. I use yoast a lot for my blog, so it was a wonder when I just update to 3.2.4 only to get an update to 3.2.5 the next day. Was wondering why an update so quickly. At least now I know. Thanks for the heads up |
jaz:Thanks bro |
Yes oh, it did we thank the Lord. http://www.the-ahamefulas.com But I take one very special person for all his blog posts that helped me get there. Neil I know you might never see this but thanks big. Who knew all your blog posts I read on quicksprout and your blog could actually push me to start a blog that can actually pay in a boring niche here in Nigeria of all places. |
Wow, that guy is going in for a world of hurt and change. First off The phantom feeling that the legs are still there. Then there is the feeling of pain each time it about to rain. His mobility has now been restricted as the only option he has is a non wheel chair friendly house. He will need a motorised wheelchair to get around town, depending on access routes to where he is going. The worst part, is he is not what professional Prosthetics and orthotics techs call a Bilateral patient. And doing artifical legs for him that are functional will be really expensive as it has to be a sensor controlled know joint. I. E Ottobock Genium or C-leg. These cost roughly N12 million for one, for two he is looking at N24 million plus trip cost to Germany or South Africa or USA for fitting as these are the only places that can handle them. Geez I really feel for this dude. |
fr3do:Lol, true but you have to understand that we are use to the process of extracting palm kernel oil for cooking oil. There are only two companies that refine palm oil, one of them uses it for local products while the other exports. It's more the case of needing more crude palm oil refineries in Nigeria, or using local method to do the refining process. |
Osezzua:Thanks bro |
adextetoo:That's only if the organo phosphorus compound ain't broken down. But you know the funny Part, you can't see black palm oil sold locally as only pz Wilmar and presco are the only two companies that refine crude palm oil |
RealAdewole:So true my brother. The lack of it is why we still use more of palm kernel oil instead if refined palm oil for cooking. Plus did you know that the process of refining palm oil gives raise to an affluence that can make large quantities of bio diesel. That's the opportunity we are missing out on |
Thank you all for helping to grow this list |
Is there a big difference between Palm Oil in Nigeria and Palm Oil in Malaysia? They say we all see things in different lights. There is a saying here in Nigeria What might appear white to you, will be brown to a politician, grey to a lawyer and Red to a policeman, lol. This same view is held in the Oil Palm Industry, particularly in the area of Palm Oil Production. The Big difference between Nigeria's Palm Oil in Nigeria and Malaysia's Palm Oil Now let me ask you a question Which of the two images in the attached Picture below contain Palm oil? If you said the image on the right, you are correct. If you said the image on the left, you are also correct as well. How you ask? In Nigeria we have grown up seeing and using Palm Oil in its raw state(Crude Palm Oil), the red rich carotene containing oil we love, this we use for all kinds of native soups and sauces. While if you grew up in Malaysia or Indonesia, you will be more use to the clear coloured Palm oil (RGB Palm Oil) Why is this so? The History of Cooking Oil in Nigeria You see here in Nigeria, Crude Palm Oil is produced for use in our native dishes, although over the years we have have adapted it for other dishes. As a cooking oil, it has too many properities that don’t seat well with other dishes i.e stew and frying. The redness of it will change the colour of jellof rice and other dishes, while trying to fry an egg or do pastries with it just won’t bring out the natural flavor you want. Let not also forget that that red colour will change the colour of the pastry as well. So we had to look for another cooking oil, enter Ground Nut oil, before the 1960’s we were known as one of the largest producers of Ground Nuts. We had ground nut pyramids in the north that stretched as far as the eyes can see, with this cash crop came ground oil production which serviced the whole of the country and introduced a new cooking oil source in Nigeria. Then the boom of ground nut waned in the late 1960’s, taking with it the ground nut oil industry. As companies shifted operations from agriculture to the new Oil of Petroleum, we began to import ground nut oil to handle out cooking oil needs. Now you have to understand that back then we had Palm Oil and didn’t have use for Palm Kernel oil, because we didn’t have the technology or the investments needed to develop Palm Kernel oil. It wasn’t till the later 1970’s that the cost of importing and producing ground oil drove some some industrious Nigerians to seek other types of cooking oil, different thing plants were tried. rapeseeds, sunflower seeds and Palm Kernel. People gradually learnt that Palm Kernel nuts gave more output of oil per ton than other oil seeds, and thus a new industry in palm kernel oil production was born. Since we had a lot of Palm Kernel nuts just wasting away in various plantations across Nigeria, it became our cheapest source of cooking oil till date. Now you can understand why the demand for Palm Kernel Oil locally is high and the demand for Palm Oil Locally is low. The reverse is the case in the international market, high demand for Refined Palm Oil and Low demand for Palm Kernel oil. Why is the demand for Refined Palm Oil in the global market higher than Palm Kernel Oil? To answer that you have to understand what Refined palm Oil is and what it is used for When Palm oil is refined, it goes through various processes, The first of which is where its Complex Organo Phosphorus Compounds are removed by hydration with water, Orthophosphoric Acid and Polybasic Acids. The process is called Degumming (removing the gums or the phosphatides). If this is not done. Degumming The next stage is bleaching of the degummed Palm oil to change its colour and purify the Fat and Oil, this is done by using either Acid Activated Bleaching Earth(Clay), Natural Bleaching Earth or Activated Carbon and Synthetic Silicates. The last stage, Deodorization is done by using a vacuum steam distillation process. Here the oil s passed through a high pressure steam vacuum to change the smell and separate other volatile compounds. Deodorizing Once all this is done, you get RBDPO Refined Bleached Deodorised Palm Oil. Now comes its uses. Refined Palm Oil can be used on its own or fractioned into other oils or mixed with Palm Kernel oil for other uses. When Refined Palm Oil is Fractioned you get these two new products. 1. RBD Palm Olein 2. RBD Palm Stearin In its pure form, RBD palm olein is sold as cooking oil. RBD palm olein is also used in the manufacture of margarine and shortenings and in industrial frying of processed foods like potato chips, chips, instant noodles and other snack foods. RBD palm stearin is used in for margarine and shortenings and as a source for producing specialty fats for coating in confectionery. It's also used in the soap and oleochemical industries. Malaysia and Indonisea focused more on exploiting both Palm Oil and Palm Kernel oil, by refining it to the worlds export standards. While we focused on producing Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil for local use. This is the reason why our export of Palm oil and Palm kernel oil is so low, we consumer the bulk of it locally and we do not refine Palm Oil or Palm Kernel Oil for export. These differences in the way we view Palm Oil is the reason why Malaysia and Indoneisa are seen as the top oil palm producers in the world and Nigeria is now currently ranked at the Fifth. This alone is the Big differences between Palm oil in Malaysia and Palm oil in Nigeria, its the reason we are losing so much revenue in the Oil Palm Sector in Nigeria. Our inability to refine our palm oil is the reason why our export of palm oil has remained the same since 2010 You have to understand that at this age and time, the world needs RBG Palm Oil and not the CPO(Crude Palm Oil) which we currently produce in wasteful abundance. In the past we have tried to sell and export our CPO to the west, but since they already buy Refined Palm Oil why would they buy Crude Palm Oil and refine it themselves. When they can get the refined Palm Oil from Malaysia and Indoniesa. We need to up our game and start Refining our Palm Oil for our local use and for exports.
