MummyJackson: I will suggest uniben/uniport for federal and delsu/imsu for state.. but first which course are you going for Thank you for your reply. I have always wanted Computer Science, but it appears the course is highly competitive. So I'm thinking of applying for "Computer science with mathematics" at Uniport,at least to increase my chances of getting admission next year. Thanks. And please,do Delsu and Imsu consider second choice candidates for admission? |

otokx: Everybody starts in Physics, its in your year 2 or year 3, they will now put you in options depending on your academic performance. Oh,is this also peculiar to "computer science with maths" and "maths and stats"? Is it that that they'll all start from MATHEMATICS and then to their various depts at year 2 or year 3? Thanks. Happy Sunday. |

Please, like I said before,I want to apply for admission into Uniport come next year, but something is bothering me. The O'level result that I want to use will be ten years by next year. Do you think this might in any way forfeit my admission? Please help,I don't want to make a mistake, thanks alot. |

otokx: Maths and Statistics is actually a 2 in 1 department made up of Maths and statistics.
Under Maths you have Maths, Maths with Computer Science, Maths With Statistics.
Under Statistics you have Statistics, Statistics and Computer Science.
Now JAMB has its own nomenclature being Computer Science and Mathematics which in the university nomenclature is an option under Maths Statistics. Thank you for your kind reply. Eventhough I haven't completely understood the concept,I still have to go ahead and apply. Please, which of the courses do you think I should apply for? Mind you,I chose to go for the course because of the degree title "Computer Science" with Maths/Stats. But it seems it is another degree entirely different from computer science. Thanks. |

Forget all those "i am too old mentality" come to my school here and see 40 year olds vying for degrees. When once you are admitted especially in federal universities you will see those older than you and you sef your morale would be boosted Thanks for your words bro. They are really inspiring. It's just that Nigerian educational system is frustrating me. I have been struggling to get admission into different universities since 2009, never failed Jamb, yet they've always denied me admissions. |

fineyemi: Same payment, same fees, same procedure with full time student. I pray they reduce the fees oo cos something is happening. Its likely the fee is reduced. The entrance exam is gonna be based on General question including English. ADMISSION IS GUARANTEED Ok. Thanks a million time brother. But I don't understand what "General question" is. |

fineyemi: Good. Obtaining Part-Time Bsc is the best alternative if you don't gain admission through Jamb. Uniosun Part-time student pays same fee with Full time and both Full time and Part time student are collecting same certificate. Part time won't be on written ur certificate. There are so many people out there who are in the university running a Part time programme but u will never know. There is no discrimination between part time and full time.
NYSC As expected, Part time is 5 years and for ND,IJMB and others, Its 4 years.
Now. as a Part time student on your 5th year in the university, Your Full time counterpart will be on service and immediately after the NYSC, they will be given their NYSC certificate which will enable them to go for their masters. while u as a Part time student on your 5th year. Immediately after your exam, UNIOSUN will send ur name to NYSC, then NYSC will issue you a NYSC exclusion Letter. Then u print it out. This will enable you to apply for masters.
In a nutshell, there is no difference between full time and part time, cos both will apply for masters at the same time. wow! Thank you so much for providing answers to my questions bro. These infos really gladden my heart. But please, I still need you to clarify these for me: 1. How much is the tuition fee? 2. How strict is the admission of the Part-Time program?(I understand we are to write entrance exam and this dey make me fear oo).Altho,I'm an indigene,if that will increase my chances of getting admission. Thanks. Happy Sunday! Modified: Please do Part-Time students also pay "acceptance fee"? |

Hello guys. Happy weekend. Please,is there any part-time students or someone who knows about the part-time program of Uniosun on here? I learnt that the form is now on sale. So please I need these infos about the program: 1. How much is the school fee?(although someone told me they pay the same fees with full time students, but I'm not really sure). 2. What is the mode of receiving lectures, like when in the week do they receive lectures? 3. Will Uniosun issue the same certificates meant for full-time students to part-time students at the end of the program? Or is it gonna indicate on the certificate that someone did a part-time program? Please help with these questions. Thanks in advance. |
