MackyNaija:
In summary,

On the second part of your question about remaining in status...

One of my papa brothers for USA, my personal person for many years before I arrived in this country..

I arrived in July 2017, barely 30days after, he stopped taking my calls..

He emailed me in August 2019 and said he will report me to US immigration shocked shocked shocked This man get my Sev1s record, i20, most likely my passport too..

If I was out of status what would have happened??
What would he have done out of wickedness?
What would I have done out of desperation?
What would have been my blood pressure reading?

Who can guess what I told him? cheesy
$500 will be yours..
Sorry, I meant $5. grin grin grin
Wow! this is serious. He must have been very furious seeing you making it to US in the first place. Then patiently waiting for your student visa to expire before unleashing his evil and diabolical action.

You should have told him to his face to go to hell and rot in there...lol

Pls give us details about the whole thing bros, so that we can learn more from your story.

Wishing more GREATER successes that will confound and send him and his ilks to their early grave.

Thedream1900:
I don't know if there is a topic about H1B visa on this platform but I have searched and could not find one.

There is no denying the fact that both indians and chinese dominate the pool for employment based visa in the U.S., but I believe there are Nigerians pursuing this highly coveted work visa/permanent residency. I'm pursuing my American dream through this path and would like to hear/share ideas with other Nigerians with similar experience.

Thank you!
Thank you Thedream1900 for taking the initiative of opening this wonderful thread, hardly would you see any of sort on nairaland here. I wish you success on your greencard filing by your employer.

However, as somebody who has navigated this route. It would be nice if you can document some details of your journey thus far so that we can learn from it.

Also, unlike eb3 visa that most RN here in Nigeria normally take. Do you know of similar agency in US that recruit IT and other professionals that will Nigerian can take advantage of like infosys and Tata normally used by Indians. It some other competitive means of get recruited by America compandies.

Again what are the chance of getting h1b/eb3 for many talented Nigerian in IT and engineering but still in Nigeria, what advice would give such people?

Pls, try to be updating this thread regularly as this will open some opportunities many don't even know exist.

Thanks once more again bro for this thread.

The number do not lie , Nigerians some denying the truth when it’s infront front of you .
Am not disputing the report from the link you share. I just want you to accept the fact people get employment based visa from Nigeria especially nurses.

Again, do you take time to peruse the number of approval from other countries from that report for employment based? Nigeria is FIRST in Africa and about 18% of total approval for Africa countries compare to 13% and 17% for immediate relative and family preference respectively.

Below is statistics of immigrants visa from each catergory from each country, from last year.

https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/AnnualReports/FY2017AnnualReport/FY17AnnualReport-TableIII.pdf

As you would see, only 201 Nigerians got immigrant visa though employment compared to the 3831 from immediate relatives and 2235 from family preference. Mind you the number did not break down the employment catergory but regardless it still supports my claim that is not that easy.
Like I said earlier, no way is easy and I gave you that link to show that people are migrating through that route eb3 from Nigeria contrary to your initial stances.

Again, if you look at the percentage of approval of each category of those that got the immigrants visa, am pretty sure employment based would higher even with that 201. Because how many nigerians even aware that you can get eb3 visa directly from here talkless of actually applying. That is employment visa category for nigeriand is always current in visa bulletin.

So, nurses(also I.T) is still in shortage skills in US where foreigners are being sought after, and Nigerians are no exception.

I read through the post, on the direct paged I saw people complaining about getting their petitions petitions approved. I heard about the Avant, which is one of the most popular agencies and they have many many issues. So like I said earlier, is not that easy.
There is no ease route anywhere, one just have to go through the "pains" and eventually if the petition is approved, that would be wonderful accomplishment which I hope you'd agree with. Getting a work permit right from naija to work in the state.

In addition, you migrate with your family without any worry of looking for work upon arriving in the US. In fact that would been best route for the o.p is he is a medical field.

So, it is doable getting eb3 green card from Nigeria, not the way you portrayed it before as if is NOT possible.

Please go and sit down. I know very well about my field. You are clearly not in the field. Thats how Nigerians go around spreading lies about nursing when they have not worked one day in the field. There are many speciality in nurses, you don't have have to work in those listed to be successful . List 10 organizations that have success rates of sponsoring foreign nurses to get their green card.
Madam, kindly go through this thread and see how Nigerian nurses are migrating to US through sponsorship of eb3 (green card) after getting their certificates certified.

Many have migrated through this route by getting eb3 visa right from here in naija.

And for the records, the email I received read:

"ALL Applicants are hereby requested to log back into the portal to update their preferable center for the interview. Note this procedure only last for 48 hours and in the case where an applicant fails to choose a center, the closest center to their state origin would be automatically selected for them as their interview center."

Which implies that EVERY APPLICANT is supposed to have access to the portal for 48 hours. They didn't say ALL SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES.

so if some of us are getting a message "You were not shortlisted" don't you think the glitch is from PTDF or their servers?

You guys should just chill please. I hate to see people worry unnecessarily. Have some faith and be patient. What's yours is yours!

PoliticsRe: Why Saraki May Be The Next President Of Nigeria by BrightFuture48: 11:10am On Apr 26, 2018
aariwa:
History is a very important subject which unfortunately nobody pays attention to, in Nigeria.Bob Marley once sang a song that if you know your history you will know where you are coming from and going to.Great historians also believes that history has a way of repeating itself after every 20,30,50 or so years and so based on this fact i want to draw an analogy between the present political climate and what we may expect to see in future based on purely historical facts.Olusegun Obasanjo handed over to a government that was later overthrown by Buhari and a yoruba man named Idiagbon. They were sponsored financially and technically by a yoruba man named Abiola and a military man named ibrahim babangida respectively .During his take over speech in 1983 buhari mentioned some of the reasons for taking over as corruption, cluelessness on how to run the economy,Weak leadership from the president, maitasine insurgency in Borno state.FYI shehu shagari was never indicted of anything inspite of all his ministers did.He was peace loving as a president. He was against any form of bloodshed of innocent nigerians because major mustapha jokolo former emir of gwandu mentioned in his interview with daily sun in 2006 that people gave shagari information way before time that his government was about being overthrown but instead of taking action he urged that the coup should not be bloody.Buhari took over and there is no much difference between what he did then and what he is doing now.If you are in doubt google babangida's coup speech and compare it with what is happening today. For the purpose of this piece,i want highlight the role of buhari, abiola and babangida in buhari's millitary regime and juxtapose it with what happened 30 years after.Buhari took over power in 1983 with the financial backing of abiola and a coup detat technically executed by babangida.Buhari assumed power and treated these men with scorn. He even started a probe against ibb on that gloria okon issue.A nairlander did his nysc in old plataeu in 1985 and he mentioned here that they celebrated throughout Jos, buhari's ouster after 18 months in power because his policies made life unbearable for nigerians.Fast forward to thirty years after.OBJ handed over to a government that had almost the same characeristics as Shagari's.Remeber Jonathan mentioned that he accepted defeat because he didnt want bloodshed.Buhari in 2015 with a yoruba man took over power on the same premise he overthrew Shagari and he is implementing almost all the policies he did back then joined with the fact that he is presently not in good terms with his chief benefactors Tinubu and Saraki ie before he traveled for the ear infection treatment he told Tinubu that he was not the national leader of apc and that there are many national leaders in the party. He is in court with saraki now with criminal charges.I did this analogy last year and told my friends that history favoured buhari to win the elections but they didn't believe me.Let us analyse the role of the previous and present actors in Buhari's government then and now.Tinubu played the role abiola played for buhari in 83.While Saraki has some striking similarities with IBB ie Saraki is a man from the north central bearing a yoruba name while IBB is a man from north central bearing Badamasi.IBB and Saraki do not believe in fighting corruption. Both men love igbos.Saraki made many igbo people in ilorin multi millionaires, same with ibb. Both men played pivotal roles in their own times in bringing Buhari to power.Buhari paid those men back by prosecuting them. Both men are coup specialists while IBB did his own in the millitary way saraki did his own democratically to get the senate presidency.By Febuary next year Buhari will be 18 months in power. Will history repeat itself again?I dont know but i heard Saraki is planning to go back to PDP.This piece is not my personal opinion but pure historical facts and you can make your own deductions from it.
Thanks OP! I really like your historical analysis and the final conclusion you made.

Firstly, I will like to point out that Saraki is already the 'President' of Nigeria because of present position is holding. Nomenclaturely speaking, somehow, the name 'President' is been attached to him, and as such the history as favour him. BUT had it been he is NOT POWER DRUNK and over ambitious; try to get the Senate president with all crookeness in the world! but rather WAIT for his time, paraventure he might have succeeded Buhari in a way beyond human comprehension.

For me, the MORAL lesson in this, is that one should NOT be over ambitious, with PATIENT one will get whatever one is longing for in life. And You know IBB spent good eight years as Head of State/President, so also I see the current TREND follow same path. Saraki still holding unto same Senate president position while Buhari hold on to POWER.

My deduction is that SARAKI lack of wisdom and over ambitious has completely robbed him off of ever assuming president of Nigeria and Buhari spirit of PATIENT and submission of NOT taking the path of trying to remove Saraki by fire and force might have helped him to elongate his time in office albeit saraki(IBB) eight years of presidency. In nutshell Buhari is indirectly correlated with IBB preresidency now historically, because of GREEDINESS and IMPATIENT of Saraki.

This further lead us to interesting deduction that history favour IGBO PRESIDENCY come 2023. How?

You will recall that IBB presidency was brought to halt because of serious protest from South specifically south-west and because of that agitation led to Solenkan becoming president from SW. I see similar scenario playing out here if IGBO toll the path of PATIENT. And I believe based on historical antecedent, POWER will be seceded to the South-east mimicking south west agitations of 1993/94 representing perhaps 30 years cycle by 2023.

Although these are NOT cast in stone but we can DEFINITELY LEARN from history. It is ease connecting dots looking backwards, and obviously HISTORY does REPEAT itself.

PS:Op I followed you up because of your post in travel section on Adjustment of status. Thanks.

Yes, begin as if you're just starting application all over again. All you've to do is to continue clicking next till you get to page(s) you wish to edit the information.

And at the end make sure you click SUBMIT button!

Good luck.

from the 'my application' drop down menu botton, it took me to a page with 'continue application'. When i click on it, it refuses to progress
Perhaps is due to network. That's is place you will click (continue application) to navigate the pages till you will reach the end where you will have to click on SUBMIT button.
