Vanilla anyday of the same , same way I was hyped to enter bootstrap only to leave after
I hope it isn't same with JavaScript as well , hyped to enter react only to see things I do with react ,I do them with vanilla in even lesser time
You can't be real for saying your development is faster with vanilla Js than react

Only for reusable classes. No point creating a variable for classes that only one element will use.
Got it thanks

Away from my pc. It's pretty straightforward

Const anyName = "flex items-center"

Then

<div className={anyName}>...</div>

If you use clsx npm package it's even better as you can add multiple style variable and even more tailwind classes if needed although this can also be done with template string

className={clsx(anyName, anotherVariable , "border" ) }
Thanks man, I love this!... One more question, does this format only comes in handy when you need a reusable class names ? or is this how you write your tailwind?

Give it time, you'd get used to it.

That problem was the main reason tailwind was created.

My point is, if tailwind doesn't suit you, you can drop it.
I will give it time, thanks

One way is to assign those classes you will reuse in a variable den just pass that variable to wherever it is needed. Just started using tailwind myself few weeks ago and that's how I have managed to tackled this problem so far.
Oh nice! Can I get a code snapshot or a link to a reference on how to do this? Thanks

Tailwindcss make sense when you using it with React or one of those JS frameworks, if not you'll find yourself repeating codes.
How do you use it with Reactjs without repeating codes?

Tailwind has @apply feature that does this exact thing.

If you feel confident in your way of doing things, I don't see why you should learn something else like tailwind tho.
Tailwind is new to me and I do not know anything about the apply feature.

I'm very confident writing CSS and sometimes, naming classes can be a big headache when you're working on a big projects.

Hmmm...
Inline CSS as objects...

Does it have good code completion, I've used it before and I had to manually type my CSS styles
When you abstract this way, you lose Tailwind css intellisense which helps you with utility class names. This will only be a problem to tailwind CSS beginners

I wouldn't advise anyone to use tailwind this way tho, it defeats it inline styling purpose.

Fourpockets:
But what if I want to use a the same or similar style in another components ?, In scss I'll just import the scss file, in CSS I'll just import the CSS file into the component, how can I do similar in tailwind
That's where abstraction comes into play and that kinda defeat what Tailwind stands for... You'll better off writing normal CSS. Check the image attached to have a clue of what I mean

I hate that class styling idea, that's why I'm forever sticking with my scss.
Maybe I'll use bootstrap when I feel lazy coding a button or tooltip from scratch
There is a trade-off when you use these CSS frameworks. You develop way faster but in return get a ugly and robust mark-up
ProgrammingTailwindcss Is Nice But... by Brogrammer(op): 12:12pm On Aug 21, 2022
Hi devs,
After about 2 years of writing vanilla CSS(plain css), I jumped on Tailwind CSS ship today after being persuaded & forced by my dev friends grin

Tailwind css is nice and all and having a good knowledge of CSS made it easy for me to hit the ground running. Even though it kinda makes development faster, Tailwind css makes my markup ugly and robust yet effective LOL

Writing breakpoints using Tailwind css utility classes is kinda weird, why 'md:flex md:justify-center md:items-center' and not something like 'md:[flex justify-center items-center]'

Lastly, I know Tailwind will be hard to maintain on big projects. Imagine yourself scrolling down hundreds of lines of code (thanks to inline styling) to make changes to a line of text.

I'm still not convinced yet and I may just go back to writing my good old plain CSS.

Here's my first Tailwind CSS project: https://kaleidoscopic-taffy-873c3e.netlify.app/

Have you tried Tailwind css?? what is your reservation??

friendly, easy, fast but i detect something that may or might be an error or issue. I dnt know if you are aware of it.

here is it. when ever you select a category for either budget or expenses and add price, it create a 'single' list of that budget or expenses, if you try to create 'another' list of budget or expenses of that 'same' category you earlier selected, the list does not create BUT the price of the budget or expenses created with be added the the 'Current budget'... I hope you understand?
Hey Simeon, thanks for taking your time to test the web app.... Your observation is valid and I'm aware of it.

Here is what I did, I don't want users to be able to create multiple budget/expenses for the same category. So instead of doing that, you can just edit the amount for that budget/expenses category.

Do that make sense to you?

This is a masterpiece I must say. Is was wonderfully and masterfully made. I like your little to no use of animations, because I've seen a lot of devs just spoil there work with too much unnecessary animations. The UI is really captivating. But the only thing I feel makes your work not so interesting is its lack of features. Like it's just too straightforward but asides That, you did a very wonderful job.

What features suggestion do you have?

Hey guys,
I created this simple budget app because I was kinda bored and don't know what to do. Frontendmentor "expenses chart component" project influenced me to build this project.

It was fun to build and I also learned some new Reactjs tricks & tips along the line.

I used, Reactjs, Redux-toolkit, chartjs, localStorage for this project. The live link is down below

Your criticism is highly welcome... And I also need suggestion for features I can add too!

Just rechecked your website

I see most of your projects are copied and pasted Verbatim

I mean no disrespect but there's no harm watching a tutorial video then building your own stuff lol

Like this one here https://dbproject.netlify.app/
Actual tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx5hdo50a2M

Git you may have copied

https://github.com/adrianhajdin/project_syncfusion_dashboard
First of all, you are insane!!!

Secondly, most of my projects are either ideas I brought to live or tasks from frontend mentor. So where is this "they are copied & pasted" idea coming from??

Thirdly, YES, I followed JS Mastery video tutorial step by step to make the dashboard project on my portfolio... While he used context API for State management in the project, I used redux to manage the state and achieve the same functionality. I invested my time coding it from scratch and THAT makes it a good reason to put the project up on my portfolio. Any issue about that??

You really thought you did something, lol!!!

Lastly, I'm not your regular copy and paste dev, get your fact right and dead this narrative!!!

This girl behaves more matured than even some 30-yr olds that I have dated in the past. She doesn’t nag, doesn’t give me headache, is not quick to anger and so many other good features. Reason why this is a difficult one for me.
Did you just used the word behave, LOL!!!
She sends nude, entertain distraction while she's in full blown serious relationship and you still consider that as a good behavior?

Be honest to yourself man.

Good day Folks, I am not going to bore you with all the details. Ok, I have been a member of this Forum but I really need matured advise cos I am in a dilemma right now. I met this cute babe in 2021. She is from Edo I am Igbo. I was really thinking of getting married to her but I have some serious concerns.

Firstly, sometime last year she came visiting. While she was sleeping on my laps her phone screen lit up so I was tempted to look and I saw message delivered to Mariam. So something whispered to me to check the content of the message. When I checked, I discovered that the message was deleted after it was sent. So being a Guyman, that discovery spurred my curiosity. What I did was to copy the number and checked on Truecaller, lo and behold a Man’s name appeared. So I checked his name on face book and checked on WhatsApp too and I saw it was a married Man with five kids. So I waited till morning and confronted her. Initially, she denied it was a man but when I confronted her with my evidence she confessed it was a married man. I enquired further and she told me they have had s*x like 4 times while we were dating ooo. I butted her out of my house and blocked her completely. But this babe will be using other pple’s phones to call and be sending msgs telling me she is sorry. So at a point I forgave her and we continued, but, I was not ready to start trusting her again. So last week, I was trying to see if she has truly turned a new leaf before making a major move by going to see her parents. I was shocked what I saw in her WhatsApp. There was this random dude asking her out. From their chats she told the guy that she has a boyfriend so she can’t have anything to do with him. But, she sent him a video of her touching her Vagi*a. Telling him she wets and squirts very well. When the guy demanded they see so he can feel her she told him no that her Vagin* is only for her boyfriend. Also I saw so many guys asking her out but she kept telling them she is in a serious relationship and she can’t date them. So I am really confused. She is 22 and I am 33. It pains me so much cos this girl is so loving and caring and also a good cook. She treats me well and has never disrespected me. I am really hurting inside cos I feel this is not the kind of woman I wanna marry like how do u expose the most intimate part of ur body to someone else. Is it lack of maturity or she is jst loose and I didn’t know. I have refused picking her calls but she keeps on begging and sending msgs seriously. I am tired. Please I need matured advise cos I am no longer getting young and I wanna settle down ASAP.
This is a freaking red flag, man!!!
But it seems you're seeing a blue flag instead... If you want peace, stay away from under 24 years old girls. They are in this phase that makes them want to try different adventure.

You want to live the life your momma won't want for you!
ProgrammingRe: What Are The Fundamental Programming Languages Needed For Frontend Development? by Brogrammer(op): 3:15pm On May 21, 2022
platymus:
I love your question! As a fullstack engineer you see the whole picture but for front-end developers it is different. As a front-end developer you need to know the three fundamental technology of the web{html,CSS and JavaScript},one tool for ui development {adobexd,InDesign, figma},some graphics tools(Photoshop, illustrator),you will use these tools for mockup and prototyping but in some organisations the UI/UX team is different from those that build the actual front-end but my advice is to learn it as a front-end developer. Also some important frameworks and libraries: one of reactjs or vuejs. Also get to know JavaScript web APIs like webrtc, fileapi, fetch, intersection observer, etc.
Get use to babeljs and webpack but if you feel webpack is too much then start with gulpjs. Also get to know about performance and optimization. Another thing I will advice you add to your skill set is building PWAs (Progressive Web Apps). You must love to learn!I which you great success!
This is very insightful, thanks.
Inasmuch as HTML and CSS are the building blocks of every web pages, can we consider them a frontend programming language??
