eremy: Amen. Thanks
This window does provide you with ample time to upskill in the technical field right before seeking out a new job role. Go for an internship - paid or otherwise. Goal is to gain relevant experience apart from the transferable skills you acquired on your previous role.
On internship, gain as much skill+knowledge as you can. You could offer to solve problems to boost your confidence level and cv.
High. You could work around the idea of gaining hands-on experience to your own advantage. Thanks sir for the swift response. I capitalized on the career break to get conversant with cloud computing, IT Infrastructure and Network Architecture. Also have relevant professional certifications I intend to obtain. I have always been very good and have the technical-know-how . I just need an opportunity to embrace . |

Good morning loved ones,
Am currently out of job..was laid off 2 months back. I ve got a bachelor degree in elect elect engineering and experience in sales and talent acquisition.
I have always had a passion for technical roles but opted for what was available as survival was of he essence. Right now I have capitalised on the career break to be conversant with Cloud Computing , IT Infrastructure and Network Architecture. While having relevant professional certifications in view.
I am basically looking at making a career switch to more technical roles though still open to other options.
Please what are my chances?

Thoniameek: Pardon me,
Let explain properly. One time this lady bought my weekends and all she wanted me to do was; clean, wash, iron, cook and look after her son. But she made come Friday evenings and leave Monday mornings and that attracted an extra fee
Now, you might want to stay in your shop and sell for you
Run errands or do deliveries
Do some domestic chores (I have over a year experience in housekeeping by the way)
Look after your kids
Do some book keepings for you (basic accounting)
Mark exam scripts
Sing in your band (I own the stage during karaoke)
Fill up for someone in your dance group and a whole lot, you name it Go girl |

CecyAdrian: What love For us not to be divided, you have to agree that, that Paul of a clown is a product of wrong opportunity who knows not or understands where or what he does, that way we can all work together, and please remind me what it is we are scaling through again?? We are all aspiring to get better career opportunities so that makes us. I am not in the school of thought of insulting Entrepreneurs. Criticizing them is fine . Mind you no one would employ you if they realize you have such attitude. Do it with discretion |

While you guys are laying scrutiny try to be rational too. As much as I expect graduates yo be treated with respect Entrepreneurs should be held at high regard.
We need more of Paul in Nigeria . Companies start small and grow big. If Paul's turnover revenue is not substantial you don't expect he will afford "six figures" remuneration.
In this recession we need to work together. We need to help ourselves .
I believe everyone is employable. With the right set of training everyone will grow in their desired field.
Let's help ourselves. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Are You Unemployed? What Can You Offer? by brokenplate: 3:02pm On Jan 13, 2017 |
Ontarget: This thread is for the unemployed ones to search themselves, discover and advertise whatever valuable asset, talent or strength they have that some persons out there may find useful and demand for. Using a simple example, someone may have lots of timber and doesn't know what to do with it and thinks it's useless, some other persons will have lots of nails and doesn't know what to do with it, someone else has hammers and another person has a saw. If these people come out and reveal whatever it is they have they will discover they have what it takes to start a furniture making business.
So whatever it is you have that you feel is valuable or not just tell us about it cos someone may find it valuable and demand for it. Even if you can see very clearly in pitch darkness someone somewhere may require your ability. Even if you can write 2000 words in one minute someone somewhere may require your ability. If you have scare knowledge about a particular thing someone may probably be searching for someone who knows what you know.
So tell us what you have to offer. Are you in the capacity to render help? |

None cares bro. They only care when you've made it. But one of the greatest philosophy in life is "never quit"
You might just need one last stroke of the spade before you strike gold how would you know if you quit?
God cares bro even if no one does. I bet you your breath is a gift lots of MDs, CEOs and GMs will pay any sum to have.
Go to the Hospital and know how much it cost to be placed under artificial oxygen per day.
You have health and strength you have wealth.
I was laid off from my place of work and no one was ready to help out. I had to go into goat farming. Lot's of people laugh at it but I know how much I made over the festive period. As an electrical electronic engineer it is expedient to work in the oil and gas and bla bla..
Welcome to a new world. A world of survival of the smartest. A world where the rich preys on the poor.
Business is the key to a wealthy life. Mind you, you cannot be richer than your boss.
Well as for me, even if I get a nice job later on I ain't quitting business. |
