thanks a lot,but to be precise what score do you think I should be aiming at in both exams that will get me in next year.thank you for the reply
There is no safe score until you see your admission status. But scoring above 75% in both exams is a good omen

Hi,pls is there any delsu medical aspirant I'd like to know how their aggregate was calculated this year and what I should be aiming at in jamb 2018 and tips on scoring 300+,thanks
Hello Racheal, delsu MBBS quota is about 60. Their aggregate is usually (Jamb/ cool+ (PUTME/2). Their post utme us usually /100, so just aim scoring as high as possible. For a good jamb score, read your textbooks back to back, word for word, phrase for phrase, solve all excersises, answer past questions from 1978 till date. Note DELSU post utme has lots of maths and English questions... You may not be allowed to use a calculator

Check the Medical Board of California for instance which is the standard for most other states.

http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Applicants/Medical_Schools/Schools_Recognized.aspx
63% of medical colleges in Nigeria made this list. Not bad though

With all due respect, medical schools are not the same. For instance, only select medical schools in Nigeria are recognised by most states medical boards in the United States.
Thanks for that. I've been waiting for a quote, so these medical schools are?

Between unical and uniben, which is faster and more superior.

I say "superior" because I read somewhere that graduates of uniben and few other top federal uni wouldn't need to write any exam bfor practicing in the Caribbean (a country like Trinidad and Tobago)
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks.
MBBS is MBBS, as long as you graduated from one of the 38 medical schools in Nigeria, you are good to go. The professors and Doctors in these two schools you have mentioned don't have two heads. Its not a new thing that people would want to hype their own school. The only form of inequality I know of in medical school comes to play when you are talking about specialisation in a particular field. I'm not above correction though

I haven't seen people that have a-level certificate being admitted to study medicine. have you?
The criteria I can remember are having a B.Sc in a related field of study or an A level result... And yes I've seen A level holders who got admission into medicine. #JUPEB

that's just it dude things can change so much four years after.....I'm even thinking on maybe if I can't go for MBBS again cuz of age, which area (best)can I specialize in to during my masters program?cuz I'm may do that immediately after bsc or Nysc or what is d best area I can specialize into during my masters program in biochemistry. I realize dat clinical biochemistry are very inferior in naija labour market so
I'm thinking about venturing in to pharm,is it possible or what you own suggestion?
Education remains the best investment... Molecular biology and Biotechnology are treanding fields of biochemistry

hello fellow dudes,I'm a newly admitted Bch student of Lagos state university,
actually,I put in for MBBS but l later did Change of course cuz of my grade so I was lucky to be included in d first list.
right now I'm thinking about crossing but I realise that in lasu d method is no-go area so after 4 yrs I will go back to study MBBS via DE
my question now is that, can I snub NYSC programme, for me to quickly go back to medical school or what
or lemme put it like this, what are your advise for me immediately after 4yrs?
When you are done with BCH take Jamb. That's my advice. This DE of a thing doesn't freak me. I don't like it. Most schools would prefare their own Jupeb candidates or their own B.Sc holders before they consider outsiders. Unless u plan on doing the DE in same school u finish BCH. But let me say the truth it won't be easy. You will see so many colleagues who will try discouraging you. They will try convincing u how meaningless it is to go for MBBS after a B.Sc. Its not an easy journey. So much can change in four years.

I am not sure that you can get mbbs through direct entry without having served Nigeria. Most schools require your NYSC discharge certificate before your application for direct entry is even considered.
My advice is that you keep writing jamb and take the course you're studying seriously.
Remember, most schools require a minimum of 2.1 from direct entry applicants.
Good luck
I doubt NYSC is a criteria for DE. After all those with A level cert don't have NYSC experience

the little I still remember

infant has brown adipose tissue with special thermogenin in their mitochondria that regulate entry of proton which burn its own lipid to release heat .

Fuel iyaf dry,
Exactly, thermogenin inhibits oxidative phosphorylation therefore energy is converted to heat instead of ATP synthesis
EducationRe: The medical students and aspirants thread by Brukx(m): 7:06am On Dec 02, 2017
body heat is maintained by signaling the mitochondria to allow protons to run back along the gradient without producing ATP . How do infants carryout this uncoupling with the aid of brown adipose tissues

So many important knowledge about the chemical aspect of life were handed over to we the biochemistry students. Have you ever wondered how DNA replication takes place? From one little zygote, a whole new complex organism is formed just with the aid of coding information from DNAs. How do anti biotics perform their functions? Its simple. They just have to inhibit a step in the replication of bacteria DNA. In biochemistry, we always talk about pathways. Pathways are very important in the field of medicine. Do you ever wonder how each carbohydrate molecule we take into our GIT ends up supplying some amount of ATP?Talking about ATP. How does a small molecule like ATP produce energy for locomotion? You will find the answer in Bioenergetics and excitable tissues. I have to stop here because if I should continue listing the new things I learnt as a medical biochemist, then I would have to write a textbook.
