I always wondered if the black-white video tapes on Godfather of Harlem were real life recordings. I confirmed this when I saw the real Malcom X on the show.

Just finished seeing Castle Rock Season 1


The last series I saw some three months ago were "The Americans and Better Call Saul". On Sunday I decided to get back to seeing movie and needed something different (different plot, different genre considering I do mostly crimes, investigations/detective/Law and maybe action); so I stumbled on Castle Rock, checked review and saw it above 7 and here on Nairaland it's not really been talked about and I gave it a try.

Don't really know how to rate movies but this serie gave me all I wanted...it's a psychological thriller, and horror... basically thrilling and the best part is reviews say Season 2 is the best season. So I'm really happy I am getting to the peak of the thrills

I did try Castle Rock some time ago. Got tired after 2 episodes. But my taste of series has changed since then. I'm giving another go.

Umbrella Academy 7/10
Yeah I came to the party late. I loved how they introduced the main characters. Aidan Gallagher's acting was phenomenal considering he's just 17years. It's nice to see hollywood not use actors in their 20s play the role of teenagers.

Doom Patrol 8/10
Damn! This series took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting the psychological thriller it contained. The whole concept was exciting for me.

Breaking bad has always been compared to Ozark for it's similar plot. Better Call Saul, Yellowstone and Snowfall are notable mentions.

I think my taste in Tv has changed since 2018 when I started actively watching Tv series. But these are the best I have seen so far.

I could not watch better call Saul cause I already know the faith of all the characters, stopped at episode 5.
Aside that, BB is the best thing on tv but it takes patients for one to finally set into it.

If you use this as an excuse, you are really gonna miss alot. Better call saul has its own arc. One can easily see BB without having an idea of whats gonna happen in BCS.

The last women with functional ovaries are captured and used as what they call "handmaid". These girls are forced to carry children for the families in the theocratic totalitarian government of Gilead.

Naa, the show is off completely.

The creative team decided that the story needs no further exploration. The writer(s) Misha Green and showrunner agreed to end it in season one.
It's not as if the streamer solely decided to axe it.


I still dey vex like this.

Jordan Peele said he had enough ideas to create multiple seasons of Lovecraft country. Misha Green said the same thing. The service decided to end the show for other reasons.

Who else noticed that every character in Invicible is a copy of DC character's, Shark Man, Darkwing, even this man trying to expand himself in episode 1 looks like Martian Manhunter justice League and many more like that.

There is no copyright infringement if you create characters that are parodies of the ones you just mentioned.

Now first things first, I'll give accolades to whoever rewrote the series like shii is brilliant altho rushed but there were enjoyable moments. To fully grasp the series, u have to understand tha the series is based on two different  books, one a duology titled six of crows and the other a trilogy titled shadow and bone.

  The duology dealt with kaz brekker and his gang as dh were given an impossible heist but not like they were portrayed in the series tho while the trilogy dealt with the darkling and the sun summoner.

   The two books were combined as a whole for the series whereas in the books the characters from the two books never met, think of it as the old German Reich where there existed eastern and western German on the same land with the fold as the encapsulating border segregating em all.

  And I loved the fact that they televised nina and Mathias storyline instead of learning about it through convos and flashbacks. The whole synopsis is this "the fold needs to be destroyed, only someome who can summon light and manipulate it can, Noone has ever seen one, they are thought about as myths just like the stag and all

So I think watching it after this explanation should be straightforward

I'm just two episodes in. Without spoilers, why does the fold need be destroyed?

5/10... people on imdb seem to love it a lot tho, I did like the first four or so episodes but it got boring...
also there's a lot of plot armor, especially with the side characters, am still confused how in the finale all the bad guys died but none of the supposed good guys didn't... this show is nothing like GOT...
