Titiluvly: Welcome to d Land of Promise
As u step in to d camp, no going out of d gate for three weeks..U will be welcomed by soldiers, u either start 'frog-jumping' or running from d gate to wia u will be shown ur hostel, den u go for some registrations so as to enable you get ur state code number, (d last number on ur code is your platoon), from here you move to your platoon officer to collect your 'oversize' kits except you are the bold type..
For your own good, don't rush to change to your white short n white polo, cos if you do..u will start your 'afternoon drills' under the hot sun..May God help you
Expect the sound of d beagle by 4am, by 5am you should be on d parade ground,n also by 3pm for evening drills.. 7:30am Brkfast, go to d kitchen with your meal ticket or visit maami....
Man O War drills would be done platoon by platoon..its fun..don't miss it..Social night is there too..Mr Macho,Miss Nysc, Mock Macho etc, football n volleyball competition, carnival( my platoon won last year's carnival ), no camp fire nyt o..Ensure you participate in at least one of d camp activities..
I can't forget SAED lectures ...they were so boring atyms..sitting down from 9am-2pm was so tiring, but it was fun anyways..You are expected to join one of d SAED groups..At the end of the SAED week, try to make the presentation of what your group has done, you may gain d State Coordinator's favour as regards your PPA posting..
Allowances- You will be paid #1000 for bicycle allawee #1500 for transport allawee #19800 for may allawee
Concerning PPA postings, my advice is for you not to influence it, but if you want to..its up to you..
Pls Be vigilant in camp n be careful too..humble yourself..Respect d camp officials n Soldiers too..try not to break any camp rule..Our State Coordinator is a no-nonsense woman..
Bless You..
Happy Camping.. I appreciate ur enlightenment. Pls how much is the state allawee, hw about cost of food, accommodatn and general cost of living? Again, apart from uyo, which other town/ city is fun to carry out ur PPA? Hw can I influence my being posted to an oil company? Pls I await ur answer |

NYSC › Re: Bayelsa State 2015 ''A'' Let Us Meet Here by Bruno3000(m): 10:15am On May 08, 2015 |
mimiy05: Welcome in advance to bayelsa...I'm currently serving there n I can't wait to leave. some of you might enjoy it tho. A little heads up...make sure your white shoes are made of rubber. When we were in camp, we were not allowed to wear shorts with pockets or use waist bags. don't know if that policy would change for u guys. For those coming from Lagos, God is good motors, agofure motors go to bayelsa. just tell the driver to stop you at kaima junction then you take a bike from there to d camp. its about 50-100 naira. Cross country motors also offer camp services ie they go straight to d camp. last year, Lagos to kaima camp was 6k. don't know how much it costs now. For those of you who want to influence your ppa posting to yenagoa, bear in mind that the cost of living in bayelsa is a little on d high side especially accommodation. whatever you do, do not rent a house where there are no drainage systems in d street, you'll absolutely regret it. So make sure to check d area n ask questions before renting a place. I'll be happy to answer more questions once again, welcome in advance to bayelsa I would love to be posted to any of d oil companiesm particularly in Brass. Hw do I influence dat in camp? |
NYSC › Re: Bayelsa State 2015 ''A'' Let Us Meet Here by Bruno3000(m): 10:06am On May 08, 2015 |
Imanuelle: Hi guys, forget about what you think of bayelsa state, or what you've always read online, bayelsa is a very cool place.
Wherever it is you are coming from, all you need do is stop at kaiama junction, from there you'll get a N100 bike to camp.
When you arrive, there'll be a line of whities like you, you'll get an entrance number, and also get searched, after which persons from NCCF will assist you in carrying your bag(s) to a safe place for keeping.
The next step is you going for a bed space, this will be allotted to you in front of the dinning room(that's what its called). When you get a space, you'll go to the store(extreme right from the dining hall) to sign up for a foam, then you can go set up your bed space, in that same vein, you can also hire one of the kids around, to fix your net for you.
Afterwards, you'll go back to the hall, there will be different lines for different zones, you will join the appropriate line, and turn in your documents, and then get your NYSC BY number.
As you should know, the last digit on this BY number will be your platoon number, now if your number is 127, you'll have to scout around for the platoon officer of platoon 7 to get your kit.
Then the 'find your size' hunt starts.
You van forget anything, but not your white rubber shoe and mosquito net(you can buy them in camp tho).
Now about the groups on camp, there's the band, red cross and OBS. The OBS guys are the super-cool guys. People will envy you, and you will see them pretend to hate you because every other person will see you as cool.
You will be told, times without number, that no preferential treatment in PPA posting, but that's a lie.
To get posted around the state capital, join the OBS.
There's more but I'm currently busy, feel free to throw a million questions. tanx for d info, wat if I prefer being posted to other places like brass instead of d state capital, wat group shld I join? Secondly as an economics graduate I would love an oil co like Mobil, shell etc. Hw do I go about 'runsing' it on camp? Tanx |

Politics › Re: Obama To Send High-powered Delegation To Buhari’s Inauguration by Bruno3000(m): 6:57pm On May 06, 2015 |
argon500: International interest in Nigeria’s political transition and the planned transfer of power from the Jonathan-Sambo presidency to the Buhari-Osinbajo presidency billed May 29, has risen in the United States as President Barack Obama now considers sending a high-powered U.S. to the event, officials said Wednesday.
U.S. government sources said that Mr. Obama is considering who might lead the American representatives at the event. Besides, at least two US ivy universities-Harvard and Yale – have since held special review sessions where scholars were invited from around the U.S. and the world to give lectures and seminars on the outcome of the Nigerian elections, focusing on the emergence of a former military head of state, who is a Moslem from the North of Nigeria, and a Christian pastor, who is a law professor from the South as president-elect and vice president-elect respectively.
Three names are already being mentioned in official US and diplomatic circles including Obama’s wife, the American First Lady, Michelle, Vice President Joe Biden and the Secretary of State, John Kerry, as the head of the presidential delegation. From the U.S. Congress also, some of the senior members are said to be planning to attend the event including the Chairman of the US House of Representatives Sub Committee on Africa, Congressman Chris Smith.
The U.S. President normally announces a delegation to the presidential inaugurations of friendly nations being led by the Ambassador in that country. But in rare occasions, he picks very senior public officials as the head of delegation when he wants to underscore and emphasis a point of how the US highly regards the country or the circumstances at a given point in time. Nigeria’s Ambassador to the U.S., Ade Adefuye, said, “I have been told that there would be an unusually large American delegation that will attend the presidential inauguration on May 29.”
He confirmed to journalists on Wednesday that he has also been told that a very senior member of the U.S. government is expected to lead the delegation, but that there was no confirmation yet. The Nigerian Ambassador said he has been in consultations with the U.S. State Department on the matter, adding that President Goodluck Jonathan has already extended an invitation to the U.S. government. “We are following up with the US government to ensure a very large US presence at the inauguration,” the Ambassador said Tuesday in Washington DC.
Mr. Adefuye explained that “Nigeria’s profile has been on the rise since after the election, the concession by Jonathan, and with the smooth transition that is going on”. From the U.S. government to the business sectors and think tanks, the level of excitement about the anticipated peaceful transfer of power in Nigeria and the outcome of the elections itself producing the Buhari-Osinbajo ticket from an opposition party, APC, has been quite widespread. Some of the U.S. groups that have been showing keen interest to attend the inauguration and pressuring the U.S. government to send a very high-powered delegation are the Atlantic Council, and the Constituency for Africa-groups known to be very influential in Washington DC. A U.S. State Department source noted that after the elections, feelers were sent out to business groups, think tanks on interests in attending the Nigerian inauguration, and the “feedback has been very encouraging,” said the source.
At the Yale University over the weekend, a group of theologians-the Oxford Study Group on World Christianity had their annual meeting and participants disclosed that the Nigerian election was one of the major discussions this year.
A top U.S. Professor who attended the meeting said the Study Group composed of leading scholars from around the world who considered it significant that the Nigerian elections produced a Pentecostal pastor as Vice President to a Moslem, who had earlier been perceived not to be religiously pluralistic. Last month also, the Washington Post had published a report on its faith pages on “How a Pentecostal Law Professor Has Helped Reshape Nigerian Politics.” Earlier Harvard Africa-American Program had also held an academic review session on the Nigerian election further revealing how widely significant the issue has become here in the US.

Romance › Re: Reason Why Ladies Hate Each Other by Bruno3000(m): 4:30pm On May 04, 2015 |
portable86: Read this interesting piece i got from surfing this site and decided to share with you guys, so lets hear your own opinion. for me, i think the writer made a lot of sense, why are women their own worst enemy? Question
Your girlfriends tell you things like; “ I don’t usually get along with women, I prefer being friends with males than females ,” or your sisters say; “ I don’t have female friends because they’re too much drama .” A lady walks into a room and some other ladies in the room start to hate for no reason. They make rude remarks, give icy stares that would make the newcomer almost bury herself if she has no self-confidence.
Often times, there is that one woman who immediately turns into an ice queen upon the very sight of you, despite you having done absolutely nothing to wrong her in any way. Unlike men, women will often dislike another woman for no logical reason at all. The female folks are quick to judge one another and they are less likely to become friends with someone who could be perceived as a sexual rival. A number of ladies will tell you that they have survived at least one mean attack from another lady, who badmouthed their appearance, dismissed them or made them feel less than a human being. If you’ve never done anything to another woman to warrant such cruel treatment from her, then it’s likely that she has some serious issues and she’s just taking them out on you. Don’t blame yourself or be worried about it, you’ve done nothing wrong. The funny thing is that despite all the drama men create in women’s lives and or the amount of hurt or abuse they cause, the women keep loving them. They’d rather hate a fellow woman, who has done nothing to them. But why is it so, why do women hate each other so much? I’ld tell you.
1. Jealousy : Most women, whether they admit it or not, like to have attention focused on them. If there’s something taking it away from them, especially another woman, then she gets a little intimidated and typically starts to hate. Some women would hate you, if they think you’re prettier than them. Your mere presence makes them feel like ugly. If your dress looks prettier, they would hate. If they are single, they will see you as the competition. If they are married, they will see you as the seductive temptress trying to steal their man away.
2. Inferiority complex : Some ladies start to feel inferior when others are showered compliments and they are not. They start to hate the lady who received the compliment as if it was her fault. If another lady commands respect and they don’t they begin to hate.
3. Pride : Some women have a little too much pride within themselves and therefore cannot like anyone who they perceive is better than them. It’s okay to have a lot of self-esteem but a lot of women confuse it with pride.
4. Insecurity : Some women are very insecure. They judge other women according to their insecurities and what makes them feel better about themselves. Some say, it’s in a woman’s nature to be jealous of another women but a woman who knows her true self-worth can never be jealous of another. Not every woman has the habit of hating other women. So for women who have been attacked by others for no reason, just ignore them and keep being your awesome self. There are billions of people walking the surface of the earth, why be bothered over those hating you. For those who are in the habit of hating others, stop seeing other women as competition. You should not feel threatened by their confidence. Your self-worth should not be measured by another woman’s beauty or confidence, so stop looking for reasons to hate every woman you meet. You are beautiful just the way you are. Be proud of who you are and your appearance. When you see a beautiful lady you should complement her rather than hate. You gain nothing by hating. Life is too short, after all. - See more at: http://www.nenyville..com/2015/05/reason-why-ladies-hate-each-other.html#sthash.76Cfsutq.dpuf funny enough, some guys foolishly exhibit such habits...
