How your faith can produce results (4) Tue, 4 Nov 2025 ‘[Abraham’s] faith and his actions were working together.’ James 2:22 If you really believed God’s Word concerning your situation, how would you act differently? Saying you believe is just the beginning; activating your faith means preparing for the answer to arrive. Ask yourself, ‘If I really expected an answer to my prayers, how would I prepare for its arrival?’ In Scripture, Jesus gave His disciples this parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man…planted in his field…when it grows, it…becomes a tree’ (Matthew 13:31-32 NIV). The farmer may sincerely believe he can produce a mustard tree, but nothing happens until he chooses the location, prepares the soil, plants the seed, and continually waters it. Once he does all those things, he can actively watch for its appearance. So, where do you start? (1) Pray for wisdom to make the right decisions (see James 1:5-7). (2) Plan your work, and work your plan. Aimless, passive waiting for things to materialise without thoughtful, active involvement will prove disappointing and fruitless. God uses you as His partner: ‘We are labourers together with God’ (1 Corinthians 3:9 KJV). (3) Break your plan into small, accomplishable action steps. (4) Don’t wait for the fear to go or the faith to grow. Be prepared to take calculated, productive risks. Feel the fear and do it anyhow! (5) Start thanking God even before you can see the answer. And if you should miss the bull’s-eye, remember the Revolutionary War militia’s response: ‘Ready, aim, fire!’ Adjust your aim—and fire again. ‘[Abraham’s] faith and his actions were working together.’ And that’s still the Bible formula for success. |

How your faith can produce results (3) Mon, 3 Nov 2025 ‘In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.’ James 2:17 James asks, ‘What good is it…if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?… Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says… “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing…what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds’ (James 2:14-18 NIV). A veritable ocean of faith without the appropriate action to follow it up is nothing more than an ocean of dead, useless faith. On the other hand, an ounce of faith that’s acted upon can produce an ocean of results (see Matthew 13:31-32). Action breathes life and power into your faith. The biblical prescription for faith is simple but potent: (1) You decide to believe in God’s promise and His power to make it happen—leaving the “how and when” up to Him. (2) You choose to act in keeping with what you believe before you see any evidence of the results. (3) God responds to your faith by keeping His unbreakable promise. ‘Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfil?’ (Numbers 23:19 NIV). God goes to work, exercising His unlimited capacity to perform His Word. Jesus said, ‘Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours’ (Mark 11:24 NIV). Now—it’s up to you to claim and act on His promise. |

How your faith can produce results (2) Sun, 2 Nov 2025 ‘God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.’ Romans 12:3 Thank God, faith isn’t reserved for deeply spiritual people. If that were the case, we would all be in trouble! The fact is that regular people from all walks of life can be faith-filled. We’re inclined to think faith belongs exclusively to people like Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Samuel, David, Daniel, Peter, and Paul. Now, without question, they were all faith heroes—but faith doesn’t belong solely to them. The Bible tells us, ‘God has dealt to each one a measure of faith’ (Romans 12:13 NKJV) . No one will miss out on heaven because they weren’t given enough faith to ‘believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved’ (see Acts 16:31). God intended not only that we should have faith—but that we should live by it. Three times the New Testament assures us: ‘The just shall live by faith’ (Hebrews 10:38 NKJV). You might say, ‘Yes, but those biblical heroes had great faith; my faith is so small!’ Did you know the apostles felt the same way? They said to Jesus, ‘Increase our faith!’ (Luke 17:5 NIV). And Jesus replied, ‘If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea,” and it will obey you’ (v. 6 NIV). Like so many of us, the apostles thought they needed more faith. But Jesus corrected this spiritually crippling misperception by telling them: you don’t need a truckload of faith to see amazing outcomes. Faith as small as a mustard seed can bring about awesome results. When you put the faith you already have into action, Jesus said it will produce results! |

How your faith can produce results (1) Sat, 1 Nov 2025 ‘Faith…is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen.’ Hebrews 11:1 Faith has little to do with religion or what church you attend. The Greek definition of the word ‘faith’ is pistis, which means a firm persuasion—a conviction based on hearing and learning. Some other words that help to define faith are trust, confidence, and believing. And for good measure, here are a few scriptural descriptions of faith: ‘The confident assurance that something we want is going to happen…the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. (v. 1)’ The Bible tells us, ‘Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him’ (v. 6 NIV). It also says, ‘Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ’ (Romans 10:17 NIV). And the apostle James writes, ‘Faith … not accompanied by action, is dead’ (James 2:17 NIV). Faith, though it may be felt, isn’t a feeling at all. The fact is, you can have faith and feel nothing, and you can feel nothing and still have faith. Nor is it related to intellectual or theological knowledge. Your IQ and level of education have nothing to do with your capacity to exercise faith. Effective faith calls for an act of your will. It’s a choice you make to fully embrace what God says in His Word. When that happens, it creates a heart climate that motivates you to act in keeping with what you choose to believe. That’s faith in a nutshell! Happy New Month. November will bring in joy, peace of mind and prosperity to us in Jesus name 🙏 |

The Bible and your investments (3) Fri, 31 Oct 2025 ‘The house of the righteous contains great treasure.’ Proverbs 15:6 In order to overcome your fear of investing, you must do these three things: (1) Get savvy. Before you start investing, you need to learn the language and nuances of the stock market, real estate, mutual funds, and other transactions. There is a wealth of information available on the internet. Yes, your savings accounts, term deposits, and managed investment funds are great ways to protect your money while earning a modicum of interest. But if you want to make a higher return, you have to take some risk. And the higher the risk, the higher the return. (2) Get counsel. ‘Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed’ (v. 22 NIV). A good financial consultant will help you plan based on your age, risk tolerance, and investment objectives. Talk to friends and relatives who have made investments; learn from their experiences. And be sure to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He is called ‘Counsellor’ because He can guide you in every area of your life (see John 14:26 AMPC). (3) Get moving. Time is money. You can go broke trying to save for big things like your kids’ education or your retirement if you don’t take advantage of the high returns offered by the stock market and other investments over an extended period. And be sure to stand on God’s Word and trust Him: ‘Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth’ (Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV). As long as your motive is to do God’s will and bless others, you can pray for God to bless you with success—and He will. |
You will soon be arrested with this your running mouth. Better watch it 🤨 |
The Bible and your investments (2) Thu, 30 Oct 2025 ‘There is desirable treasure…in the dwelling of the wise.’ Proverbs 21:20 The Bible teaches two things about getting ahead financially. (1) You must be wise when you invest. When someone offers you a return on your money that’s too good to be true—it usually is! (2) Don’t just work for money; make your money work for you. ‘There is desirable treasure…in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it’ (v. 20 NKJV). And there is more than one way to squander your money. If inflation is running at 3 percent annually, but the interest on your savings is only earning 1 percent, you’re losing 2 percent of your purchasing power. So, your fear of investing can actually cause the very loss you dread. Job said, ‘What I dreaded has happened to me. I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, for trouble comes’ (Job 3:25-26 NKJV). If that’s how you feel about investing, read this: ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths…Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of…trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught’ (Proverbs 3:5-6, 23-26 NKJV). Not only does God want to meet your needs, He wants to meet the needs of others through you. And for that to happen, you must have wise investment strategies. |
I can testify it to this..... Edo government needs to do a lot of work |

The Bible and your investments (1) Wed, 29 Oct 2025 ‘The lord…settled accounts with them.’ Matthew 25:19 Jesus said: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability…Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talent. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one…dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them’ (vv. 14-19 NKJV). How does this story turn out? Well, the two men who doubled their money received their master’s highest commendation: ‘Well done’ (vv. 21, 23 NKJV). But the one who was risk averse was called ‘wicked and lazy’ (v. 26 NKJV). His master told him: ‘You ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away’ (vv. 27-29 NKJV). Practically speaking, here is what this parable teaches us: When the cost of living increases an average of 2.5 percent yearly, your savings must earn at least 2.5 percent yearly, or you will lose money rather than earn it. And one more thought: since the Bible tells us to invest wisely, you can pray and be confident God will give you sound investment strategies. |

Encourage someone today Tue, 28 Oct 2025 ‘Strengthen those who have tired hands…encourage those who have weak knees. Say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, and do not fear.’’ Isaiah 35:3-4 Every one of us needs encouragement (support that inspires confidence and a will to continue). The words we speak can either build up or tear down the people around us. Author Rebecca Barlow Jordan writes: ‘One of the first questions I like to ask Jesus when I wake up each morning is, ‘How can I encourage someone today? And who?’ He’s always faithful to answer, often through His Word. One morning after asking that question, I read Isaiah 35:3-4 (NLT) and found a practical answer. First, ‘strengthen those who have tired hands.’ That might include teachers, hair stylists, mums, writers…missionaries, pastors, and parents… Next, the passage mentions encouraging those who have ‘weak knees.’ I envisioned grandparents and senior citizens, veterans, and even athletes with wear and tear on their bodies. But the last category, the ‘fearful,’ could probably include everyone. These needed to hear the words, ‘be strong, and do not fear.’… For me, finding people to encourage is not a problem. Remembering to listen and follow through with Jesus’s answers is where I need work. And the amazing thing is, when I try to lift up someone else, I’m the one who ends up encouraged. Ask Jesus to help you encourage someone today. Invite Him to speak through you, and be prepared for His answers.’ Paul said, ‘Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith’ (Galatians 6:10 AMPC). As you fill your mind thinking of ways to strengthen the faith of others, you will be amazed by how much you get energised and blessed in the process. |

Love and honour your wife Mon, 27 Oct 2025 ‘Husbands…love your wives.’ Ephesians 5:25 There is an old story where a chief executive officer and his wife are traveling, and they stop to get petrol. The CEO goes inside, and when he comes out, he notices his wife talking to the service station attendant. He asks her why; it turns out that she knew the attendant and used to date him. Feeling smug, he says, ‘I’ll bet you’re thinking you’re glad you married me, a CEO, and not a service station attendant.’ She said, ‘No, I’m thinking if I’d married him, he would be a CEO and you would be a service station attendant.’ Before God created Eve and brought her to Adam, He said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him’ (Genesis 2:18 NLT). Stop and think about the many ways in which your wife complements, completes, helps, and is just right for you. You say, ‘My wife already knows that I love her.’ Perhaps, but she loves to hear you say it, and you could never say it too often. Say it with flowers from time to time. Pay attention to the little things she does to make your life better and compliment her. When she talks, give her 100 percent of your attention, and let her know that her thoughts and feelings matter to you. Have a weekly date. As the years add wrinkles, treasure her and the life you have built together. Paul sets the standard for husbands, and it’s a high standard: ‘Husbands…love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up His life for her’ (Ephesians 5:25 NLT). |

The richest man in the world was given one year to live at 53—then made one decision that gave him 44 more. John D. Rockefeller built an empire that would make him history's first billionaire. By 25, he owned one of America's largest oil refineries. By 31, he was the world's biggest oil refiner. By 38, he controlled 90% of all oil refined in the United States. Every decision was calculated. Every relationship was leverage. Every dollar was reinvested into building something bigger. At 50, he stood alone at the summit—the wealthiest man in America, worth what would be $340 billion in today's currency. He had won the game of wealth. But he was about to lose something far more valuable. At 53, his body betrayed him. Crippling pain consumed him daily. His hair fell out completely. Digestive problems reduced his diet to soup and crackers. The man who could buy anything on earth could barely eat. Sleep abandoned him. Joy disappeared. His personal physicians delivered the verdict: he had less than a year to live. An associate watched him deteriorate and wrote: "He couldn't sleep, wouldn't smile, and nothing in life meant anything to him. "Rockefeller—who had spent decades accumulating more wealth than any human in history—lay awake one night facing an inescapable truth: he couldn't take a single cent with him.The man who controlled global oil markets suddenly realized he controlled nothing that actually mattered. That awakening changed everything. He called his lawyers and accountants with stunning instructions: restructure his fortune for hospitals, medical research, and charitable work. In 1913, he established the Rockefeller Foundation. What happened next was extraordinary. The Foundation funded the research that brought penicillin to the world, saving countless millions of lives. It supported medical breakthroughs, educational institutions, and public health initiatives that transformed society. But something else happened that no one expected—Rockefeller himself transformed. As he began redirecting his wealth toward helping others, his health mysteriously stabilized. His pain lessened. His strength gradually returned. The year he was supposed to die... passed. Then another. Then another. The man given 12 months to live reached his 60s. Then 70s. Then 80s. He lived to 97 years old—44 years beyond his predicted death. Medical science can debate what saved him. But Rockefeller himself knew. Late in life, he reflected on his transformation: "God taught me that everything belongs to Him, and I am merely a conduit to carry out His will. My life has been one long, happy holiday since then. "He had spent the first half of his life believing wealth was the prize. The second half taught him that wealth was merely a tool—and the real prize was what you built with it. He didn't just get more years. He got a completely different life. One filled with purpose instead of paranoia. Meaning instead of accumulation. Peace instead of power. Here's the truth that his story whispers to us: you can spend your whole life winning the wrong game. Success without significance is just expensive emptiness. But it's never too late to change the game you're playing. Rockefeller's first 53 years built the richest empire. His last 44 years built a legacy that still saves lives today.

Get up and try again Sun, 26 Oct 2025 ‘A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.’ Proverbs 24:16 Thomas Edison conducted thousands of experiments with various kinds of materials in his search for a filament he could use in carbon incandescent lamps. As each fibre failed, he would throw it out the window until, eventually, his pile of failures stretched all the way up to the second story of his house. Then about thirteen months after his first failure, he succeeded in finding a filament that could stand the stress of electric current. And here is how it happened: He nonchalantly picked up a tad of lampblack, mixed it with tar, rolled it into a delicate thread, and wondered, ‘Why not try a carbonised filter?’ He worked for five hours straight to craft a fibre, but it broke into two pieces before he detached the mold. He used up two spools of cotton thread before developing a perfect strand, only to damage it when he attempted to put it inside the glass tube. He stayed awake for two days and nights before he succeeded in slipping one of the carbonised threads into a vacuum-sealed bulb. Then, turning on the current, he observed the glow of electric light that we now take for granted. A failure doesn’t need to suggest the end; it can mean you’re one step closer to the triumph you desire. If something you have attempted has failed, try again. Consider a new perspective. Allow time for an idea to sit and simmer. Take notes. Never give up the goals and dreams you believe in. God is with you through the detours and delays (see Hebrews 13:5–6). When you make determination your friend, patience your servant, and God your partner—you will succeed! |
