What is your primary source of income? the foreign company? Then be sure to include the letter from them and also reference them in your intro letter.
Do you have payslips from them? You can also add 6 months payslip and any income tax docs if available.
Now to your funding of the trip. You need to CLEARLY show you can comfortably afford it. e.g if you only have 2k in your account, that means after buying ticket...no money left. Not logical that your entire income will just go on a trip.
Right now this seems like the weakest point in your app.
I am not 100% sure how your own fixed deposit works but you need to show you have immediate access to the money and you plan on using it to fund the trip. The impression with fixed dep is usually that you do not have immediate access.
Perhaps a letter stating that you have immediate access to the funds.
You can also explain better in your intro letter.
As per length of intro letter, I would say one page. No need for 2 much long story.
Intro Letter. You can use sub-headings and provide details under each and reference docs included in your app package.

Once again thank you for the info sir! The foreign work is a part time cash payment job in which there is no payment slip, due to my status as a full time student but I have been there for few years and I normally get reference for my trips. The 2m is in Naija fixed deposit which is about 10k usd and that is the major fund I intend to use for the trip. I can get a letter for immediate access to the fund if GTB will give or is it advisable to cancel the fix and have the money in the account and get SOP?

Meanwhile, I was considering the co-director affidavit as a supporting home tie to the Land doc since I'm not married yet..... Finally, I can not over stay or stay in any country illegally for a min, so the issue of coming back is not a problem.

Based on what you have said, it looks promising. These Canadian VOs are so meticulous so you have to take time to complete your app and provide all necessary documents which illustrate home ties, purpose of visit and financial capability.
- Completed Canada visa forms
- Letter of Invitation from Conference organizers clearly stating that they are legitimate org in Canada, that they have invited you for the conference, stating what you will be doing at the conference, outlining if they are covering your costs etc....
- Letter from your uni confirming that you are a current student
- Photocopy of current uni ID card
- 6 months bank statement (there is no minimum amount but if you are sponsoring your trip, you should clearly be able to afford it)
- If you are studying abroad, copy of study permit or visa of the country you are based
- Hotel booking for your stay in Canada (dont pay o, just reserve)
- Photocopy of all previous visas - Germany, UK etc...
- Letter of Intro - VERY IMPORTANT. A concise letter to the embassy introducing yourself (current role - student, background etc...), why you are going to Canada, why this trip is relevant to your academic/career future, why you will come back etc...
Additional Docs
Yes the docs you mentioned will be useful to show home ties but also do not overdo it so you do not unnecessarily complicate your app. e,g I do not think the co-director affidavit is relevant to this case but it is your choice.
These seem to help
- Land Surveys in your name (shows investments in Nigeria and home ties)
- Best paper award in manchester etc... (reinforces purpose of visit)
- additional bank accounts - the fixed deposit (but when is it maturing? will you have access to the funds for your trip?) and foreign currency account (hope you also have money in your other accounts as stated above because only 2k dollars cannot cover the cost of your trip).

@lalavita. Thank you so much bro! I have both paper acceptance letter and invitation letter from the conference organizers and I have my sch doc intact. I even have a reference letter from the foreign company where I work part time and I will do as you suggested for the co-director.

Meanwhile, I was actually planning to use the fixed deposit majorly (which is only a monthly renewed investment) and the foreign bank statement as a back up because my Naija acct is not actively in use.

Finally, Do you have an idea of how long the letter of introduction should be? Once again Thank you and God bless.

I have 2 Surveys (red copy) of lands in my name and an written affidavit of a co director for my brother's business. I want to apply for Canadian visiting visa to stay for only 7 days which the purpose is for an academic conference (4 days conference) and I will be presenting as well. Like how much will be enough for the SOA for a week trip because I'm intending to show a fixed deposit of about 2m in my name and maybe 2k usd in my foreign bank acct.
