PoliticsRe: Chief Obafemi Awolowo: National Hero Or Villain? by Buckie10: 10:13am On Aug 30, 2008
Obafemi Awolowo deserves his place in history and no one can take it away from him regardless of the different opinions we all have. The one thing he had back in those days and that the politicians of today don't have is sincerity of purpose. The man didn't think of how he was going to benefit personally which is very unlikely for our politicians of today. His record in the area of development speaks for itself no one has been able to surpass it after all this years even the military presidents that had absolute powers didn't have the foresight to improve the lot of the people the govern. The issue of tribalism should be thrown to the dogs cause i don't think there is anybody in Nigeria today without similar sentiments,it's not his fault that after ruling the country for more than half the period after independence the north has got nothing to show for it, the east should hold there leaders responsible for their misfortune not one in the last 20 years has tried to improve the lot of the people from that region but yet they will support anything that will help line their pockets remember Chukwumerije to think the man is now a senator is repulsive.
PoliticsRe: Who Is The Most Powerful Politician In Nigeria by Buckie10: 9:47am On Aug 30, 2008
It's a pity that we continue to celebrate mediocrity and outright failure in Nigeria, the Sarakis are an example of what the country doesn't need we still don't have good roads or adequate water supply in any part of the country yet our so called leaders claim to have Nigerian's best interest at heart it's all lies and deceit they are all thieves not one of them has offered exemplary service to the people, Obasanjo at over 70 decides to build library in Abeokuta and is fighting hard to get it accredited by UNESCO why is that? Is it because of the foreign exchange that is provided to help run the place? The Sarakis have ruled Kwara for a least the last 5years does Kwara have good roads or constant power or water supply?why can't they use there so called connections to help develop their state they only buy ankara distribute to the massess they in turn shout oloye and they think that's what been a leader is.May God punish anybody that has stolen our collective wealth and this is not a prayer it's a curse.
PoliticsRe: Ndi Okereke-Onyuike Arrested By EFCC Over Obama Xtravaganza! by Buckie10: 9:31am On Aug 30, 2008
What is the DG of the stock exchange doing raising funds for a candidate of a different country it just goes to show the kind of leaders we have absolutely ignorant people, wasn't she aware that the funds can't be accepted by the Obama group but yet she still charged 2m or 3m depending on the paper you read for each table, rather than try to look for ways to improve productivity and help create jobs in the country she's raising funds now she's been asked to account for the money she's pleading innocence.
PoliticsRe: Bode George Arrested By EFCC by Buckie10: 11:03pm On Aug 10, 2008
Why are we all expecting so much from EFCC regarding Bode George,Mrs Waziri still hasn't explained why she stood as surety for her former state governor when he was charged by the same organisation she now heads.Sorry i sound pessimistic about the whole issue but which one of our recent leaders can honestly say there are not corrupt,we still don't have constant power yet we are all concerned about Bode George getting arrested when we all see the display of illgotten wealth by our past leaders going unpunished everyday.
