PoliticsRe: The Amazing Wealth Of Ibori by Buckie10: 7:44pm On Feb 28, 2012
The only reason Ibori is going to jail is because he played god with Goodluck, the UK embraces thieves like Ibori from all corners of the world. Abramovich is a classic example, so was Thaskin Shinawatra. Nearly all Nigeria public officials have UK bank accounts and no one asks questions as to the source of the money deposited. I don't blame the British government because if a man decides to rob his own home and keep the loot with me i won't have any complaints, this is the case with Nigerian and African leaders. A lot of ignorant people in the UK are busting a vain about why the UK still gives the likes of Nigeria foreign aid what they don't understand is the so called foreign aid is a small fraction of the loot of our leaders kept in the UK banks, the hypocrisy of the UK government is well know, it is a classic case of "wan fi owo Abu se Abu lalejo" any Yoruba speaker will understand the phrase.
PoliticsRe: Chief Obafemi Awolowo: National Hero Or Villain? by Buckie10: 11:36am On Feb 14, 2012
Willy+willy:
Nigeria Tribune–Reports reaching our information desk says that late Chief Obafemi Awolowo committed Suicide just as he was about to celebrate his golden jubilee.

According to sources, then Action Group [AG] heavyweight, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo learned of a possibility of military court martial against an insurrection he was engineering alongside his political associates when he realized that Ibrahim Babangida wanted to become a life military president in Nigeria-state.

This is breaking News… RR is investigating this report…stand-by…

Read additional reports on this bombshell revelation on Awo’s suicide mission, including truths, lies and secrecy surrounding it, written by Abdulmunini Adeku at NigerianFinancialtimes:

Twenty –three years after he suddenly was reported dead of natural cause and two years shy of his golden jubilee , facts are now emerging on the reasons that led to First and Second Republic political heavyweight ,Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo committing suicide.

It was learned that he did it to stem the tide of a possible military court martial into an insurrection he was planning to lead alongside his political associates at the time when it became evident that then Military President ,General Ibrahim Babangida was intending staying in power forever.
In a no-hold barred interview with FS Online recently,a grass root politician ,Mr Adebayo Adeyinka who lives within the College Road at Ifako-Ijaiye axis in Ogba ,a suburb of Lagos, Nigeria was livid with rage when he learned that a key politician connected to the issue was denying the incident.
He revealed that Chief Awolowo wanted to lead some kind of guerilla warfare or militant campaign against the government of President Babangida so that he can be overthrown through a popular or people -led putsch.
According to him , the Elder Statesman summoned a meeting of his core loyalists over the issue and this was even filmed so as to strengthen the extent of commitment of each of the politician that attended the meeting,
He pointed out that however unknown to all of those who were privy to this meeting and clarion call , Chief Lateef Kayode Jakande ,Former Executive Governor of Lagos State had a different plan as he betrayed them to the military .
He Said:’ But unknown to them , Chief Jakande was planning to betray them, he went to President Ibrahim Babangida and promptly showed him the tape
“Papa Awolowo was invited for a meeting with President Ibrahim Babangida who was then staying at Dodan Barracks which was the seat of power as at then and the truth of his clandestine meetings was revealed to him by the gap –toothed General
“He gave Papa some options and that was for him to be ready to face a court martial , be ready to go to a prison or better still go on exile
“At this stage Papa felt instead of allowing some ambitious khaki boy to mess him up he should just pack it in and call it a day ,so Chief Awolowo decide to commit suicide so as to save himself from the ignominy of going to prison for the second time in his lifetime .
“But before he did this he called his core loyalists for a meeting ,before then he had called up Late Chief Bola Ige [Cicero],since the latter had a very strong understanding of the Hausa Language having had his formative years as a young man in Kaduna but discovered that the late Esa-Oke strongman was innocent after he was interrogated by Papa
“He called others for enquiries while asking them to tender the video cassettes of the meeting they all attended to discuss the plans to topple President Babangida for examination ,at this juncture Chief Jakande developed a cold feet as he could not produce his own copy of the video which was freely distributed to all that was present at the meeting previously before the betrayal and that was how the cat was let out of the bag
“So he cursed him at this point and pointed out that he will never have any form of relevance politically as far as Nigeria was concerned and till today members of the Awolowo Dynasty avoids him like a plague.
“I was their when the letter he wrote to the family to beg them for forgiveness over the unfortunate incident was read in the presence of all present ,if he continues to deny I am ready to confront him publicly again on the same issue as I can even remember that elders asked him to go to the grave of the late sage to plead for forgiveness
“When he was questioned he lied that the National Security Organization now State Security Services had visited his house to check on him and in the process took the tape in question but” Awoists” knew that this was a very weak argument as he did not inform their political group of this development before their enquiry on the subject
“That was how Senator Abraham Adesanya assumed the leadership of the Awolowo camp of Yoruba politics after the demise of the man ,he was not even so close to Awolowo during his lifetime like Chief Jakande and that was why many called him Baba Kekere on account of this cosy relationship
“Before he gave up the ghost , he said his prayers and then took the poison which killed him almost immediately but the public was not fully aware as they were given a different account of what happened.
“We were simply told that he died while he was brushing his teeth in his bathroom at his Park Lane,Apapa residence here in Lagos
“He was stupendously wealthy during his lifetime, infact there is know company at Oba Akran in Ikeja ,Lagos where he does not have at least a five percent equity, Dideolu Court in Ogba alone cannot be valued at less than N10 Billion ,that was the place that he had in mind to be his Seat of power if he was elected as Nigeria’s President.
‘He owned Shonibare Estate but the man he was using as a front and who later went to prison over some issues which Awolowo himself was privy to eventually laid claim to the estate.
“He got all of this wealth due to a great measure of goodwill and tax waivers he gave to investors whenever they come to establish their business.
“Anytime you buy a bottle of Coca-Cola you are enriching the Awolowo Dynasty ,go to Ijebu Ikenne and you will discover that the price of a bag cement there is different from other parts of the nation due to the subsidy that the citizens enjoy on account of Awolowo who was their son and I hope you know that West African Portland Cement is in Ewekoro and not Ikenne.
“On account of this great betrayal Awolowo family members regard the “Awoist” as a group people should deal with using a long spoon till this day and this explains why when The Peoples Democratic Party Government gave some of them political appointment lately they accepted it without thinking twice.
“Dr Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu was made an Ambassador by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo while , Mr Segun Awolowo Jnr was given a plum job at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja as a Secretary.
“Recently when Afenifere was disintegrating Mama out of concern for her husband’s legacies decided to call a truce because as she puts it then, she did not know what she was going to tell her husband the day they meet in heaven
“He made Sijuwade rich , because he was his business associate and in fact some of us held very strong views that he was one of his fronts and later the same man became the Ooni of Ife”he added
Mr Adebayo Adeyinka recalled his several years of following grass root politics right from the days of Action Group to the Unity Party of Nigerian era in the second republic but now lamented that he had since lost all interest in partisan politics due to the massive corruption in our polity.
He listed such blue chips like Dunlop Nigeria Plc ,Guinness Nigeria Plc, Neimeth Pharmaceutical Nigeria Plc ,May and Baker Nigeria Plc ,Vitafoam Nigeria Plc ,Wahum Nigeria Limited ,CAP Nigeria Plc , International Paints of West Africa [IPWA], Berger Paints Nigeria Plc ,Berec Nigeria Limited ,Kabelmetal, Nigeria Bottling Company Plc ,Leventis Nigera Plc ,West African Portland Cement Company,[Lafarge ],Wema Bank Nigeria Plc, Scoa Nigeria Plc ,CFAO Nigeria Plc, Cadbury Nigeria Plc ,Wemaboard Estates, Odu’A Group, Livestock Feeds Nigeria Plc , Nigerian Breweries Plc as places the Awolowo family have commercial interest to mention just a few.
Apart from this stocks analysts believe that the most visible of his investment ,The Nigerian Tribune Newspapers cannot be valued at less than N100billion today in terms of brand evaluation as Thisday Newspapers was valued by the Owner ,.Mr Nduka Obaigbena at N200 Billion recently during a media chart while celebrating his fiftieth birthday sometimes last year.
Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo was a leader who believed that the state should channel Nigeria’s resources into education and state –led infrastructural development.
At his own expense albeit controversially ,he introduced the free primary education for all of the Western Region ,he equally established the first television service in Africa in 1959 and expanded electrification projects in the region using the proceeds from the highly lucrative Cocoa export industry.
The Cocoa House in Ibadan regarded by many as one of the major landmarks of Nigeria’s architectural history was built as a result of his economic blueprint which was targeted towards the emancipation of his people from poverty
He built the first stadium in West Africa , the Liberty Stadium ,Ibadan and he coined the name “Naira “for Nigeria’s official currency ,it was previously called Nigerian Pounds.
During the 1970’s ,he was very critical of Nigeria’s military expenditure insisting that more should be spent on development
He ran a free health care programme for children up till the age of eighteen years .
On his death on the 9th of May,1987 as a mark of respect for his legacies ,The University Of Ile-Ife which ironically he helped to build as Premier of the Old Western Nigeria was re-named in his honour as part of a post humous celebration of his life and times.
His portraits adorn public places in Nigeria especially in his native Yoruba land where he is seen as an icon.
His picture also adorn Nigeria’s one hundred naira note.
He has been described surprisingly by some of his greatest critics and even political opponents as probably the Best President Nigeria never had.
He struck a chord with the womenfolk during his lifetime when in a rare show of public affection for his wife of several years, Chief Mrs Hannah Dideolu Awolowo told the world that the woman was his jewel of inestimable value.
How right or prophetic he was because his wife has continued to strengthen the mileage of the husband’s name even in death.
During an exclusive interview with FS Online at his Ilupeju home in Lagos last year, Chief Lateef Jakande upon being probed with questions over his relationship with Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo on account of what feelers were suggesting had denied that they had a bad relationship shortly before his death.
He insisted that those that said that they had any problems between them prior to Chief Awolowo’s death were not been honest as they were all telling lies.

If the post preceeding mine isn't inciteful then i don't know what is! So much falsehood has been peddled and some now believe it to be true, a few of us have stayed on the sidelines and not join in the madness of insulting our founding fathers from whatever tribe but this constant dig on Obafemi Awolowo is getting out of hand. I would respectfully ask whoever the moderator is to please appeal to the better nature of the people involved to please desist from the slanderous comments. We can all take it to the gutter if needs be, but of what benefit will that be for anyone?
PoliticsRe: Nuhu Ribadu's Response to GEJ's call by Buckie10: 12:47pm On Feb 09, 2012
Why anyone expected any other outcome is a mystery to me, very few leadership figures in Nigeria today possess any kind of integrity and Ribabu isn't one of them. He goes to head a committee set up by the Minister of Petroleum who most people believe is the arrowhead of the so called cabal and he expects to get positive results? This is a man that recently contested to be president and yet he takes a position from a minister, and let no one fool us he will report into that minister and not directly to the president. The government's PR people should all be sacked because in most places you inform the person you are about to appoint so you don't get egg on your face when they decline, the ACN scribe obviously has more integrity in his pinky finger than Ribadu has in his whole body.

Referring me to another poster for cover, is a sign of admitting weakness in your previous post . . hiding under the cloak that the PDP is the sole reason such bill wasn't even debated extensively is a lame attempt at passing the blame  . . .The same senator referenced was a PDP member . . .so what were you all harping about. . .

more like saying . .The ACN is exonerated from the fraudulent NASS allowances and salaries they earn and enjoy . . .  is ascribed to their minority stance . . . What does it take them to propose a bill and present it to the house to that effects . . .and with the necessary pressure also applied from them. . They can now be exonerated from the fraudulent largesse they all enjoy . . .

No one can fool me with that cheap excuse . . .

Like you said, his rejection leaning on a cheap political games won't bring down the heavens . . .Work will proceed . .but it would be foolish . . for them to raise their voice for any reasons against . . this bill when passed .
. .
Why are you taking panadol for another man's headache? I only commented on the fact that the man rejected the appointment, i pointed you to Gbawe's post because it contained detailed analysis of the bill itself and the going ons surrounding the bill. Not sure how you catergorise my post as being weak, it's not a debate, the action has been taken by the man and nothing we say or do will change that. Please comment on the topic and leave me alone, i no because of you log on to Nairaland, abi ija wan be nihuh

Your comments absolutely represents the above, when do we stop playing petty politics with a bill such as this . . .Guess , it's fair playing the blame card while you shy away from the opportunity of bringing the much needed reforms you desire and pontificate upon . . . Tell me where is the sincerity on the part of the opposition to be that needed balance in stirring the affairs of the country right . . .

A lame attempt of defense, if you are to be a vehicle of change . . .The FOI bill we all celebrated was credited to have been championed majorly by honourable Abike Dabiri, i can imagine your likes criticizing the act of cowardice and sabotage, if the non ACN party refused to partake in committees set up to fast track  the passage of such important bill  ,  .

The PIB bill has been in the NASS since ages and it has being systematically delayed . . . recent claims also suggest that the current PIB bill is a watered down version of the original bill that had robust reforms measures . . . .

To fast track such bill, why not create a group of experts to fine tune the details of that bill with experts from various parties and interest group to add or minus parts seen to be in the best interest of Nigeria . .also giving it the much needed transparency . . . But when you decline, and people like you try to play cheap politics with it . .it is a sign that the passage of the bill is not of importance to you or the party you stand for . . .  and that is not a good taste . . .

I used to hold the notion that the open confrontation of the Northern NASS members held it down, but am beginning to get convinced that the PIB is where it is today because the corrupt NASS with the ACN involved don't want to see it passed . . .

It's easier talking about a bloated government while they keep mute about their own bloated allowances and salaries in the name of statutory allocation of how much . . . A whopping N150 billion . . .

Can we for once maintain an open minded view to issues  embarassed
Sir please why not just comment on the topic?!
Mr Gbawe has very kindly provided enough information in his series of posts on the issue and why the ACN scribe rejected the appointment. If it is that sensitive to the Jonathan government why not pick his own people to get the bill passed and then take full credit for it? Must ACN be involved?
Mr Gbawe thank you very much for the information provided.
PoliticsRe: ACN Scribe Rejects Jonathan's Pib Appointment. by Buckie10: 7:40am On Jan 19, 2012
The comments on Nairaland alone provides a good insight into why Nigeria is where it is today! There is obviously no sincerity on the part of the president and Mr Lawal Shuaibu knows this so he decided to reject the appointment. Jonathan is playing to the gallery, for something this important to him he should have sent an emissary or reached out to the man in anyway possible before announcing it to the media, who are his advisershuh Another issue is the lack of understanding of the people's plight by the president, his over bloated government was a talking issue during the protest, but what does he do, sets up another committee to do something that some people are already paid to do talk about duplication of efforts! Jonathan attitude is now no different to the born to rule mentality of the core North.
PoliticsRe: ACN Demands Apology From GEJ For Denigrating Lagosians by Buckie10: 9:00am On Jan 18, 2012
I have refrained from insulting Jonathan since he became the president, but i can't hold back anymore. His utterances and that of his so called supporters are annoying to say the list.Let him go and ask we the people of LAGOS stood up to Abacha the most evil Nigeria leader ever, and also the gap toothed one before him, he is an slowpoke and a man suffering from serious inferiority complex. This slowpoke has benefited because i went out on the streets in 1993 as a teenager to face Abacha's tanks on the Gbagada Oworonsoki expressway towards Oshodi with my mother constantly crying and chasing after me not to go, but i believed and the rest they say is history, and now we the same Lagosians in respective of tribe are the ones being blamed for everything under the sun? What a fool! Jonathan answer this questions whose kids have access to 10-15 cars in Lagos, if not your morally corrupt supporters and inept government officials!

We are really being punished with the kind of leaders we have had in Nigeria, bar a few of them the rest have been absolute muppets. These lot haven't even tried fixing the existing ones yet they are talking about building new ones. So much has been said of what is going to happen to the so called savings from the fuel subsidy, first it was to improve infrastructure even though every single year they budget to improve these same infrastructure, secondly it was to provide more revenue to share amongst the three tiers of government even though the lot of them can't even account for what they already receive, and now we have another clown telling us it's going to be used to build new refineries, will these jokers ever learn!

aagarba05:
Well, as a point of correction to those who are yet to be able to differentiate between a multi-religious state and a secular state, or who mistake one for the other, the word 'secularism' is not applicable to Nigeria as a country. As to the issue of Unclothedness, half-unclothedness, pornographic articles of clothing, crazy styles or whatever, all in the name of so-called freedom, the major problem is that most of  us have been wining and dining with Satan for quite a long time and cannot even distinguish good from bad any longer. What a shame! Above all, whilst I will never support any individual, group or government beating, maltreating, harassing or terrorising 'innocent' people, I will be the last person to sympathise with the bastards, satanic forces and their allies that wittingly promote demonic standards to the detriment of our own outstanding moral and cultural values.
Mate the same way you have the freedom to your opinions about how to dress and the contents of what you read or view others have too! You contradict yourself so badly it is unbelievable, in one breath you don't support government beating and harassing it's citizens and in another you will be the last to sympathise with the ones that in your own words "promote demonic standards to the detriment of our own outstanding moral and cultural values" the same values that have our cultural leaders impoverishing their wards and please don't get me started on moral values!!! Freedom is what you have right now to post your comment , stop trying to dictate what others do with themselves.

I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT IF JONATHAN OFFER THIS COMMON THIEF A MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT TOMORROW, HE WILL ACCEPT IT & CHANGE HIS TUNE. NGOZI IS NOT A  HUNGRY POLITICIAN LIKE HIM,THAT MOVED FROM ONE MINISTRY TO THE OTHER, SIMPLY cos of PRIMITIVE ACQUISITION OF WEALTH. NGOZI, WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO RESIGN FROM MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT in Nigeria, JUST as Chinua  ACHEBE ,WAS THE FIRST TO REJECT NATIONAL HONOR, WHICH MADE THIS uncouth ROGUE, FANI-KAYODE, TO BE INSULTING ACHEBE. Fani-kayode, is moral bankrupt, & he should go and spend his loot. If Yar'adua had not reject all Obasanjo, boyz, maybe he would have been in INCUMBENT INFORMATION MINISTER TRYING TO MARKET SUBSIDY TO NIGERIANS.
Please mate don't make this tribal cause it isn't!!! The mess we face today knows no tribe or race.
PoliticsRe: Stop Moaning... Petrol Is 326.21 Naira a litre in the UK! by Buckie10: 12:03pm On Jan 05, 2012
The poster doesn't speak for Nigerians abroad, he most likely speaks for himself. His location gives an indication of some sort of his background. Too many muppets think being abroad makes us better than the folks back home, let me help burst that bubble it doesn't!!! We all have different reasons for being abroad and it clearly isn't because we are better than anyone else. The poster should have being honest enough to confirm that a lot of the pump price for petrol in the UK is a tax set by the government and not the actual cost of getting it there plus profit, if the government tax isn't included it would be a lot cheaper. Let's all be objective enough to realise we can't compare both countries due to different factors, but we certainly can compare when we are discussing leadership. Leadership is the same all over the world, the main attributes have to be present, selflessness, commitment, objectiveness and accountability unfortunately most leaders in Nigeria don't possess any of these, leadership to them is a God given right.
PoliticsRe: Chief Femi Fani-Kayode Thinks Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Is "The Problem" by Buckie10: 11:23am On Jan 05, 2012
Femi Fani-Kayode needs to keep his opinions to himself because he is part and parcel of the Nigerian problem! Our singular problem is that of leadership, no one wants to lead everybody is just out to oppress, if not what do we call people who clearly steal our collective wealth and display it right in our faces? There have been far too may stories of our leaders stealing from the nation and nothing has happened to any of them, FFK is an example of this. We have being failed by all aspects of leadership in Nigeria, no one is selfless anymore, no one is willing to tackle anything no matter how small, all our elected officials are only after the perks of the office they hold. I am holding them all responsible for the mess we are in now, including FFK, Buhari, IBB, OBJ, and every other person that has occupied a position of leadership in the last 50 years, from councillors to heads of states.
BusinessRe: Fuel Subsidy And Fake Subsidy - Simon Kolawole by Buckie10: 7:35am On Oct 25, 2011
The picture painted here is the closest to what is actually going on with Fuel Subsidy. The questions needs to be asked what are we using to subsidise petroleum products considering crude oil sales accounts for over 90% of the nation's revenue, so are we subsidising oil with cocoa or coal or groundnut? The answer is NO because we stopped exporting those on a large scale since we found the black stuff, only a few connected individuals export anything in Nigeria now and i can bet my life they don't pay tax but rather bribe a few top government officials to look the other way.  Which ever way we look at it the system is meant to benefit a few, when the subsidy is eventually removed the importers of fuel who are the same people that claim the subsidy in the first place will only just increase the fuel price to recoup whatever they made from the subsidy. My opinion is fix the refineries and everything else will fall into place.

Don't know where people get stories about racism in the UK? It is just lazy to sit and type the kind of comments i have read, and to think some of the posters live in the States just confirms being educated doesn't necessarily mean being enlightened. The story of the Jamaican and the Nigerian is too far fetched, if the Jamaican was that aggrieved she would confront regardless of what anybody else says, and Jamaicans generally are very aggressive. The UK has it's own fair share of ignorant people, but compared to the States and other parts of Europe we are saints. Let me provide some clarity most racists don't come out openly like the ignorant bigot that insulted Kellis if you dig further he is probably not educated and very unenlightened, we would be discussing a very different topic if it was the lovely Naomi Campbell, he probably wouldn't have his red sweaty face any more. Racism in the UK is now very sophisticated and a lot of the posters wouldn't even realise it if it were to smack them right in the face. Different situations call for different reactions if you decide to fight every single battle you will end up losing most of them, so for all you equality advocates hold your horses and stop having a fit, we got this.

The hypocrisy of the leaders today knows no bounds, Mama HID is being insulted and dragged through the pages of newspapers and blog sites at over 90 and some people don't see anything wrong with that. The writer has committed sacrilege and he will surely reap his just rewards, he should have asked the question why didn't his paymasters get a Yoruba man to do this hatchet job am sure none would have done it as well as he has. I presume the writer is from Benin and no one indigene or not would dare insult Omo N'Oba Erediauwa and get away with it. The claims Tribune supported Daniels and Akala is just trying to give a dog a bad name to hang it, isn't the Nation doing the exact same thing Tribune is been accused of, doesn't This Day act as the government of the day's mouth piece so why are they pained that Tribune is not dancing to their tunes? Do they craved that badly for any kind of Awolowo endorsement? For all those who know nothing of the political history of the Yoruba's go and research and read up on it before coming here and spewing your venom. Mama at a point offered to kneel down for the warring factions of the Afenifere groups to appeal to their good nature in other to keep the unity, but what came of it? This politics of if you don't agree with me then you are my enemy being played by this self styled leaders just confirms the kind of characters we have in politics today. Has the writer asked why there isn't any direct descendant of the Late Sardauna Sir Ahmadu Bello actively in politics today or that of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe or even that of Pa Anthony Enahoro who is from his part of the country, but he has taken it upon himself to criticise Mama about the legacy left behind by the Late Sage a clear case of crying more than the bereaved. All this lazy journalism is exactly why we are where we are as a nation, why not just report the facts and let the readers make up their minds and form an opinion, not in my country they have to force feed you with their opinion disguised as facts. I trust the many descendants of Awo will respond in due course to this affront, not all the likes running around today after one state governor or another or even the ones shamelessly playing god.

Isn't it common knowledge that your leader supported the ruling party during the presidential election yet am the one being gullible and absolves falsities as you stated. It isn't a must to comment on opinions that differ to yours, you need to stop contradicting yourself and just read and absolve posts from other people. Hypocrisy is fast approaching an unprecedented level in Nigerian politics, the opposition had a candidate for the presidential election but choose to support the so called opposition because of certain interests now they seem to have found their sense of reasoning and realised they are meant to be the opposition. If you believe my reasoning is based on sentiments then the proper thing to do would have been to read and ignore not sure the need for you to educate my ignorant self about how politics is operated "everywhere on the face of the earth".

The Nigerian leadership finally have us exactly where they want us, in us i mean the future generation of this country who are suppose to have an open and objective mind. Is democracy about waiting for a leader to tell you who to vote for? Does anyone know for a fact where the new speaker stands on issues the South West hold dear? What gives us the impression Tinubu, Osoba and Akande share the same views on issues as majority of the South West do? For all those who worship at the altar of tribalism and believe at some point Nigeria will disintegrate i have news for you the current crop of Nigeria leaders are one and the same as the ones we have had since the first coup, selfish, arrogant, ignorant of the problems of the people they are meant to be leading, lack of ideas of how to fix the problem we collectively share and worst of all they are all incredibly greedy. All these traits allow the status quo to be maintained to the deterrent of the populace. It's a shame all these so called leaders come out and make pronouncements for the people without actually guaging what the people really want. My main gross as you can tell is with this self styled leaders, Osoba and Akande have now suddenly turned senior errand boys for Tinubu, what a life? The last paragraph hints Tinubu personally instructed all members to vote one way and not to collect money from anyone else, is that inferring that they should collect money from the right candidate? The same representatives we have sent to the centre to protect our interest are now collecting money on the say so of a leader, not realising the real leaders are those men and women in their various constituents who against all odds went out and voted for them. The difference between Awo and all this pretenders is simple Awo knew who held the real power and that is the people. South Westerners are a very jealous set of people and they have no qualms in demystifying any one, history confirms this and in time all so called leaders will be tested one way or the other and their true beliefs and where they stand will be demonstrated to the people they arrogantly claim to lead. Till then let them continue to enjoy the centre stage.

Quotes from Afaukwu
Yo are either insane or crassly unlettered.
Why should I post stories of Igbos involved in crime abroad, whereas my mission is to promote my people positively?
Those whose mission is to post negative Igbos stories can do so; this is a free world. That is not my mission.
Now you can go hang or commit suicide if my mission runs against your idea of an Igboman.
You are such an idiot; aren't you? Why should Ndigbo be ashamed of me when I am promoting and advertising them (and myself, by extension) in a country like Nigeria where people have shown envy towards them. You need to get your eediotic pear brain examined. People like you turn around in the night and kill their neighbours who do not speak the same language with them, and here you are in the day preaching for your father.
Talking about complex, without sounding immodest, you can never achieve half of what I have, or be able to pass through the roads that I have passed, in your lifetime. Pity we do not disclose our Ids on cyber.

And what are those achievements I enquire, typical Nigerian mentally. Do you have to insult and abuse to express your opinion about issues? Rather than take pride in what these individuals have achieved as Nigerians either born or of descent we use the topic to tribally abuse each other which isn't very different from racial abuse. Please tell me of any political, business religious, cultural or academic Nigerian leader that has been entrusted with improving the lot of our people that has done so without firstly enriching themselves? Let me help you, Nassarawa state Governor spends 18M to feed lions{Hausa Man},RCCG buys 4Bill jet{Head of church Yoruba man} Andy Uba self styled power broker would not let peace reign in his home state while Obasanjo was in power.{Igbo man} Dipreye Alams{Ijaw man} Joshua Dariye{Middle belt man} i hope you follow my trend. We have been failed by our leaders not Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo leaders but Nigerian leaders and the sooner we stop all of this BS the better.

Becomrrich:
Can you please seun delete this thread.

It is a useless thread, that give people the idea nigeria abroad do fraud. I have lived abroad for many years. I have never scam anyone. I do not send out scam letter . I have never sent out scam letter to anyone. And would never. So why dont their tell of the story of the nigerian who do not scam.

And the reason nigerian scam is because they are not treated fair abroad. And their last option and some the only option for some of them is to result in scam because of unfair treatment. Why not change the fair treatment and see, if they would not stop the scam.
Could you please explain how Nigerians are not treated fairly abroad? and could you also please explain why scamming is the last or why it is even an option at all?

[quote][/quote], Most scams  dat involves a nigerian r done from nigeria, only very few r done oustside nija, Countries loose Billions of dollars annually to scams for which most of dem r from Nigeria, Yahoo yahoo is like a business in nija, Most people involved in it dont hide it anymore because no one comes out to question dem, even dere parent, These bad image is mostly suffered by people living abroad, Wait and see d look on someone face wen u tell him u r nigerian, the company were i work in Australia receives scam calls and emails everyday from nigeria, because of this, calls r been ignored from nigeria. It hurts and disturbs me to see this repeating it self everyday, BELIEVE ME,NIGERIANS ABROAD R HARD WORKERS UNLESS FOR A VERY FEW LIKE TAIWO

Totally agree with you, found another that was recently caught i have attached the link below the sooner we start condeming this boys/girls the better. The fact that some of them try to justify their actions shows you what we are dealing with, every hit record from a Nigerian artist contains wordings relating to fraud be it online or card fraud yet no one is banning them from the airwaves but when Femi Kuti released Bang Bang Bang some government officila in his/her infinite wisdom felt it necessary to ban the song from our airwaves.

PoliticsRe: North-East Tops Corruption List: Says ICPC by Buckie10: 1:00pm On Aug 30, 2008
I don't understand why we constantly tribalise issues in Nigeria, can someone explain where in Nigeria today you can get uninterupted power supply, adequate supply of good water or proper healthcare? Bet no one can yet we all label one part of the counry more corrupt than the others aren't we all Nigerians, yes the north have had a lot of the opportunity to rule the country yet nothing good came of it yet the idiots that had the chance are still parading themselves as leaders instead of burying their heads in shame, but can leaders from the other parts of the nation be exonerated from corruption? I don't think so look at the state governors of all the southwest states after Abdulsalami handed over to that evil man OBJ, didn't they all enrich themselves Lam,Adebayo,Osoba,Tinubu it was said Papa Adefarati was extremely bad that even the evil OBJ had cause to speak to him about it, only Akande was responsible with the resources he was given. EFCC and ICPC are instruments of the power that bethey only act on petitions even though they might not have any evidence they will still arrest people and rfuse the bail when the constituition clearly allows it,let them show me who they have successfully prosecuted and nobody should mention Dariye or Alameyisigha cause those two where not prosecuted for the good of the nation evil OBJ only wanted to show who was boss.GOD PUNISH ALL OF THEM AND THEIR OFFSPRINGS FOR DEPRIVING THE NATION OF THE VERY BASIC OF SOCIAL AMENITIES.AMEN
PoliticsRe: Nigerian President Celebrated Yahoozee On Stage With Olu Maintain by Buckie10: 12:34pm On Aug 30, 2008
It goes to show the kind of leaders we have running all aspects of Nigeria, remember Bang Bang Bang by Femi Kuti was banned for the explicit lyrics, but yet Yahoozee seems to be celebrated as been the best record of the year in Nigeria when everyone is calling us theives we are celebrating stupidity,Olu Maintain should not be allowed to entertain at any event where the president of the nation is present because it shows that his lyrics are been tolerated when they shouldn't be. Nigerians all over the world are stereotyped, it was made worse when a Nigerian Diplomat was shot dead in the Ukraine due to fraud related issues, even though there wasn't any confirmation that it was done by Nigerians. We are well known in the United Kingdom and the States for the same thing yet no one in their right senses seem to be bothered. Well which leader in Nigeria can honestly say they haven't been involved in transferring our wealth to one of their private accounts? Let him/she come out,am sure they won't. So they all qualify as Yahoo Yahoo boys and girls. Once again MAY GOD PUNISH YOU ALL THAT HAVE STOLEN OU WEALTH TO TREAT YOUR CHILDREN TO A LIFESTYLE THAT THEY AREN'T ENTITLED TO, MAY YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN INCLUDING YOUR FUTURE GENERATIONS KNOW NO PEACE.This is for all that have died from malaria and every other cause of unnatural death that could have been prevented or cured with all the money our leaders have yahooed to their foreign accounts.AMEN.
PoliticsRe: Efcc Arrests Ladoja by Buckie10: 10:45am On Aug 30, 2008
There isn't anyway this isn't witchhunting, am not exonerating Ladoja cause i believe all our recent leaders are theives. He could have improved the lot of his people instead he was dealing in shares but not withstanding EFCC seems to be going after people that have been accused in the press of looting the treasury. Why hasn't OBJ been arrested, what about all the past governors from the west, east and north? Why is David Mark the senate president considering all he has done in the past, why is Liyel Imoke back in state house Calabar after all the money that was supposed to have been spent to improve the power sector.Mrs Waziri you are a joke and an hypocrite you were a senior police officer for a number of years and there isn't a chance in hell that you didn't engage in corrupt practices, your husband has also been a beneficiary of past imcompetent and outright theiving adminstrations as ambassador to God knowns what country{Turkey at some point} you now sit in judgement over the unlucky ones that have been stupid enough not to cover their backs, well good for them but the unfortunate thing is nothing comes of it all if anything is recovered you lot share it amongst yourselves. Once again I curse you all MAY GOD PUNISH YOU ALL FOR TAKING US FOR FOOLS.AMEN.
