doctokwus:Yes I know more about the Dubai property environment than SR. I have lived here for 3 years and know Dubai marina is owned by EMAAR. If you read my comments properly you'll notice I said the properties are timeshares. I work in Commercial Lines Insurance and analyse my employer's exposure to multi-storey residential buildings risk. SR posting copies of payment slips showing no signature of the man they're libelling isn't compelling evidence. If you want to believe questionable articles that's your prerogative. I've commented on my knowledge of the Dubai property scene. |
http://saharareporters.com/2016/06/27/general-buratai-bought-second-dubai-property-days-after-appointment-chief-army-staff I wonder how Sahara Reporters think their so-called evidence proves Buratai's outright ownership of the property. Sahara Reporters need to authenticate their evidence. I'm no journalist or lawyer but can spot gaps in their article a good lawyer will mercilessly expose in a libel case. I live in Dubai and one of the timeshares in question is in the Dubai Marina which is about 20 minutes from me by car. The Dubai property market is carved into areas owned by big property holding companies such as EMAAR, Nakheel, Majid Al Futtaim and DAMAC Properties; if Buratai was buying a property outright in the Dubai Marina area he'd most likely have bought it from EMAAR who own the land and properties in the Marina and downtown areas. Majid Al Futtaim own the Al Barsha area where Mall of the Emirates is situated and Nakheel own the Palm Jumeirah. This emirate is all about cartels that own land and properties; TFG is not in the same league as these premier developers mentioned earlier who own the best real estate in Dubai. The second piece of 'evidence' claims it's for the 2nd property he allegedly bought after being appointed COAS by PMB in 2015 yet there are dates showing 'payments' before PMB's swearing-in in May 2015. How's that possible? Our press needs to raise its game! Hallas (that's all in Arabic) |

Pack of lies. I live in Dubai and can confidently say The First Group (TFG) owned building in question caters for 'timesharers'. TFG are a timeshare oriented company always looking for 'investors'. According to their sales people at the Mall of the Emirates they have offices and accounts in Lagos and Abuja and can be found at Dubai Airport. |
dammytosh:Well said - no Nigerian should be above the law. |
xxgig:What I meant to say is the Russians were not reliable partners with Ajaokuta. Besides German and Japanese technology is more reliable. |
DobleO7:I have insider information regarding Badeh's disastrous tenure as CDS. This insider information along with my analysis of local and international news are what inform my observation about Badeh being the wrong person to replace Admiral Ibrahim. Many retired senior officers including one who was a service chief in President Shagari's government are unhappy with the performance of the last batch of service chiefs appointed by President Jonathan. My father reported to the late Lt Gen Gibson Jalo (RIP) at Defence HQ during the 2nd Republic; he and many of his colleagues (including the service chief mentioned above) refer to late Gen Jalo as "a textbook general and chief of the defence staff".These retired officers regard Badeh Minimah and Amosun as embarrassing to their profession. At an event marking his retirement Badeh claimed he led a poorly motivated armed forces. I'd imagine one of the objectives of an effective CDS is to provide able leadership and motivation to the services he heads. It is telling President Buhari didn't find Minimah (or any of his fellow chiefs) who could have succeeded Badeh worthy of retention and removed all of them and appointed a CDS who got a double promotion. |
The biggest mistakes GEJ made in changing his military top brass were replacing Admiral Ibrahim as CDS with ACM Badeh and appointing Lt Gen Minimah as COAS and decimating the Courses senior to Minimah. However the Admiral forgets his allegiance to Nigeria is superior to his allegiance to his Commander in Chief. |
$30 billion and counting wasted. We should have done the deal with Japan or Germany. |
RIP Big Boss. Condolences to your kids and loved ones. Losing both parents in 6 months |
I apologise people - I forgot to place this in the Crime or Politics section. |
The Punch claims the EFCC is probing Ogbeni. http://www.punchng.com/probing-aregbesola-alleged-lg-funds-diversion-efcc |
According to the Punch newspaper, Ogbeni has an EFCC case. In the Crime section, there's a post about 3 guys cloning his phone. I gather from google the main 'suspect' is a Bayelsa PDP activist. http://www.punchng.com/probing-aregbesola-alleged-lg-funds-diversion-efcc// Very interesting indeed. |
The case gets more interesting. Punch says Ogbeni has an EFCC case. bugzy84: |
Please read about phone cloning https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_cloning Unless Mr Governor is using an old phone, it would be very difficult to clone his phone without access to the SIM card. Not all Nigerians are gullible. |
Nice photos; however the first photo with the naval officer is not from late Ooni Sijuwade's coronation. Naval officers didn't wear red tabs on their lapels until the Babangida regime. Look for any photos of Nigerian naval officers above the rank of Commander before 1986 and check whetrher they wore red tabs. By the way Ooni Sijuwade's presentation of staff of office was in 1980. |
Oliseh belatedly found out being a 'good' pundit does not translate to being a good football manager. He should travel to Valencia and compare notes with Gary Neville. Stephen Keshi will be laughing his head off. |
Cameron hasn't got an ADC as he's not Commander in Chief. The Queen of England is the Commander in Chief and she's got more than 1 ADC (Air Naval Army etc). Obama always has a military aide from the White House Military Office hovering in the background (he carries the 'football' - the case with nuclear launch codes. |
