Major religions are currently anticipating the appearance of their “savior,” variously called, “Messiah,” “Jesus Christ,” “the Twelfth Mahdi,” “the Fifth Buddha,” or “the Tenth Avatar.” Within ecumenical circles, there is a growing awareness that one single man might actually fulfill all these religions’ expectations. A one-size-fits-all messiah would bring all the world’s religions together. Christianity If you consider the broadest definition of Christianity, not all of the approximately 2.1 billion Christians anticipate the arrival of Jesus Christ as Messiah. The Catholic Church, as well as some Orthodox groups, does not emphasize the return of Jesus Christ. Islam Many of approximately 1.5 billion Muslims believe that the Twelfth Mahdi will be a descendant of Mohammed and that he will precede the coming of Jesus Christ. He will face his own “antichrist,” convert the world to Islam, and bring forth peace and justice out of a season of injustice and chaos. He will be preceded by a “deputy,” who will prepare the way for him. The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has aspirations to be the next Mahdi. There is evidence that some Muslim powers actually want international chaos to escalate so that the Imam Mahdi will appear. Hinduism Most of world’s 900 million Hindus look for the Tenth Avatar – Kalki. Many Hindus believe Vishnu is the creator who dwells within each person’s soul and incarnates himself in the form of an Avatar whenever his presence is needed. The Tenth Avatar will be the last and will reign for over 400,000 years. He is to liberate the world from suffering and enlighten all mankind. Buddhism Buddha taught that Buddhism would almost perish from the earth because the world would abandon moral conduct and become amoral, but then a new Buddha, a Maitreya would appear. He will achieve complete enlightenment, and teach the pure dharma – “the way of the higher truths.” He is predicted to be a “world-ruler,” uniting those who he rules over. Judaism Many of the roughly 14 million Jews long for Messiah, the Anointed King. They look for him to restore the Davidic Kingdom, rebuild the temple, re-gather a prosperous Israel and defeat her enemies, and bring peace to the world. Luciferianism/New World Order For the United Nations Interfaithism movement and many new age, ecumenical groups, there is a rising expectation of a universal messiah. The Lucis Trust, once called the Lucifer Foundation, has heavily influenced the United Nations from its founding. At its roots are occult secret societies such as Freemasons, Wicca, and the Order of the Golden Dawn. Robert Muller and Maurice Strong, influential in the founding of the United Nations, are adept new age advocates who tirelessly promote the blending of all religious faiths. The “Son of Perdition” Advocates of the New World Order will attempt to fulfill the world’s messianic expectations with one man. Christians call him the Antichrist. II Thessalonians 2:3-4 tells us that the Day of Christ will not come until “the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,” commonly called the Antichrist. He will sit in the Temple in Jerusalem and demand to be worshipped as God. He is also called “the beast,” in the Book of Revelation. This tyrannical world dictator, empowered by Satan and the embodiment of all that is opposed to God, will be defeated by Christ at His Second Coming (II Thessalonians 2: .The Real Christ After terminating the reign of the Antichrist, the real Christ will establish His kingdom on earth, a kingdom that will never pass away. http://www.endtime.com/the-antichrist/ |

as he speaks of personal pride at party to celebrate new legislation PM spoke at gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender bash in Downing Street He boasted Britain is now 'best place to be gay anywhere in Europe' Gay marriage bill passed despite fierce opposition from some Tories David Cameron vowed last night to ‘export’ gay marriage around the world as he held a party to celebrate the passage of legislation in Britain. The Prime Minister told a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender reception in Downing Street of his personal pride at legalising gay marriage. Addressing an audience that included BBC presenter Clare Balding and her partner, the former newsreader Alice Arnold, Mr Cameron boasted that Britain was now ‘the best place to be gay, lesbian or transgender anywhere in Europe’. But he risked controversy by suggesting that his ministers should now fan out across the globe to spread gay marriage around the world. ‘I’m personally proud of this,’ he said. ‘I think it’s a really good step. I’ve told the Bill team I’m now going to reassign them because, of course, all over the world people would have been watching this and we’ve set something of an example of how to pass good legislation in good time. ‘Many countries are going to want to copy this. I talk about how we’ve got to export more, so I’m going to export the Bill team. 'I think they can take it around the world.’ Gay marriage was passed by Parliament despite fierce opposition from some Tory MPs and grassroots members, who were angered by the Prime Minister prioritising the issue over economic problems. But Mr Cameron signalled that he wants to go further in pressing gay rights. He told the gathering: ‘There’s still a lot more work to be done. 'There’s work to be done talking to our Commonwealth partners about decriminalising homosexuality in various countries. ‘There’s a lot of work to be done on homophobic bullying in schools, which is still a scourge in our country. There’s a lot of work to be done in terms of hate crimes and how we stop and stamp that out in our society.’ The reception was also attended by gay rights campaigners and senior Tories including International Development Minister Alan Duncan and former prisons minister Crispin Blunt. Miss Balding, who is set to marry Miss Arnold, said: ‘It was great – a very good speech by the Prime Minister. ‘He said that he had delivered on a promise and he was very proud to have done so.’ During the event Mr Cameron, together with his team of ministers behind the legislation, signed a copy of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013. He said: ‘I think of young children growing up at school, who might be uncertain about their sexuality, knowing that now, in the highest place in the land – in Parliament – we’ve passed this law that says that marriage is for you, whether you’re gay or whether you’re straight. And that is so important to young people growing up.’ But some of his MPs remain angry. Former defence minister Sir Gerald Howarth said the issue was ‘deeply divisive’ for the party. He accused the Prime Minister of ‘seeking to extol a fundamental change in society for which he has no mandate’ and which had been rejected by his MPs. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2377175/I-want-export-gay-marriage-world-says-Cameron-speaks-personal-pride-party-celebrate-new-legislation.html |

There are strong indications that the Nigeria Army headquarters is considering retiring Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha. Following a death sentence by a High Court after 14 years in detention, a court of Appeal, last week, set free the Yobe-born Major. The judgement of the appeal court sparked a fresh controversy over what should be Al-Mustapha’s new rank, considering that most of his Regular 28 coursemates are now Major-Generals. Military sources told Pointblanknews.com that the Army Secretary would “in the next few days” advise Al-Mustapha in writing to voluntarily retire. Should the Major fail to comply, added the sources, “we will retire him.” Pointblanknews.com gathered that several issues, including “age on rank”, and the fact that the Major has not undegone the requisite training for promotion, stand against Al-Mustapha. “Recall that whilst serving as Abacha’s CSO, Al-Mustapha couldn’t be promoted Lieutenant Colonel because he didn’t attend Staff College. There is no way a Major who didn’t pass (Command and) Staff College would be promoted,” he explained. “Again, there is the issue of age on rank, that is, your age at a particular rank. There is no way Al-Mustapha would be a Major at this age. Any officer who doesn’t attain a particular rank after a certain age is retired. This is pure military tradition,” added the source. “It is like awarding a doctorate degree to an undergraduate who was imprisoned 14 years ago for the simply reason that all his classmates at the time now have doctorates,” he stressed. On Wednesday, the Army refuted reports that Al-Mustapha had been promoted to the rank of Brigadier-General. In the history of the Nigerian Armed Forces, no serving personnel has been away for 14 years. Al-Mustapha’s release therefore set a precedence on what to do with officers who, for reasons clearly beyond their control, embark on AWOL (absence without leave) for this long. Contacted, Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Attahiru Ibrahim told Pointblanknews.com that the matter was being handled “administratively.” He said, “It is purely an administrative matter. The army as an institution has extant rules on its operations, so there is no need for anxiety over the matter. http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/army-moves-to-retire-all-mustapha/ |

Why do say to the dead 'rest in peace' the whole idea of wishing them peace or praying for them is a waste of energy. The dead is buried and gone for eternity.where we find ourselves after death is based on the type of life lived and choices made while still alive. So, why do you say R.I.P to the dead. |

The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria has again threatened to halt importation of petrol if their N40.6bn subsidy claims are not paid by the Federal Government. The Secretary, MOMAN, Mr. Obafemi Olawore, who spoke with newsmen in Lagos on Friday, said the debt was largely for petrol imports done this year. MOMAN members comprise Conoil, Forte, MRS, Mobil, Oando and Total, Olawore said that though subsidy payments were made in June, only Forte, Mobil and Total got N2bn, N2.2bn and N5.2bn, respectively, making a total of N9.4bn. Besides, Mobil is still being N7.38 billion their fuel imports in 2011 and 2012. In a backup document, the body outlined the outstanding subsidy claims to it members. According to the document, the Federal Government still owes Conoil N3.98bn; Forte, N4.148bn; MRS, N5.35bn; Mobil, N5.62bn; Oando, 19.34bn; and Total, N1.66bn. The union scribe said that the non-payment of the subsidy has made it difficult for the najor marketers to continue to do business, noting that they relied on bank loans for petrol imports. He explained that the agreement with the Federal Government was for subsidy payments to be made 45 days after the imported fuel had been delivered. For failure to abide by the 45-day agreement, the MOMAN scribe said the marketers were losing a lot in bank interests and foreign exchange. As such, he said the marketers had reduced their fuel import quota from 60 per cent to 45 per cent. He said the marketers could be forced to stop importation of petrol if the N40.6bn was not paid. He said, “The Federal Government does not abide by the 45-day agreement for subsidy payment. They didn’t pay between January and June 2013 until we shouted in June. As of June 2013, the total subsidy claims for major marketers amounted to N50bn. “But we have only been paid N9.4bn for imports done in 2013. It is noteworthy to know that only three major marketers were paid N9.4bn. The other three with a large chunk of the money have not been paid anything.” Due to nine months of delayed payment, Olawore said MOMAN members had to pay N13.1bn as interest to banks, adding that another N2.49bn loss was incurred as a result of foreign exchange fluctuation. He said, “Generally, interest rate is between 20 per cent and 23 per cent for oil marketers because of the volume of business we do with the banks. But because we are always not being paid on time, the bank charge becomes an issue and interest starts counting after 45 days. “Because of this, marketers have paid N13.1bn as bank interest for a part of 2012 and the last six months in 2013. I was shocked when one marketer showed me a demand note from one of the banks for payment of interest and it was N300m. “It has become very tough to continue the business. The banks are chasing us, and if you do not return their money, they won’t give you more money to do business. At the same time, they are happy calculating the interest.” The MOMAN scribe, who insisted that oil marketers, might be forced to embark on drastic employee cuts, said, “The message is that we have reduced importation and we will reduce further. We might be forced to stop importing totally and reduce employees.” http://therainbow.com.ng/fuel-scarcity-looms-as-major-marketers-threaten-to-halt-importation/ |
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Sunday weighed in on the Federal Government’s “incessant and exorbitant’ review of electricity tariff. The labour centre faulted the government for perennial resort to tariff increases while power supply remained at best epileptic. The NLC President Mr. Abdulwahed Omar, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday said that it was unfortunate that the which was N225 was arbitrarily increased to over N700. “This review whether done suddenly or in advance is without justification or rationale and stand condemned as it will negate whatever gains expected to be recorded by the much vaunted reform in the power sector,’’ it said. According to Omar, the multi-year tariff structure by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) only protects the interest of investors in the power sector. He said the tariff has little or no consideration for consumers, most of whom are poor and incapable of paying. The labour chief helmsman said that the tariff was exploitative and saddening, noting that the reviews were not accompanied by commensurate improved services. Omar said, “If anything, electricity service delivery has plummeted over the years with consumers compelled to pay exorbitant tariff rates for incompetence, poor service and fraud. “Judging from the yearly percentage increase, it is predictable that less than 10 per cent of the present consumers will be able to pay these outrageous tariffs in the next few years. “The consequences of structuring electricity tariffs that are unreasonable and not affordable have grave implications for the economy and the people.” The NLC stated that a viable power sector was key to revamping and repositioning the economy. It, therefore, called on the Federal Government to direct NERC, to as a matter of urgency, retrace its steps and review downward the entire multi-year tariff structure in the interest of the people. http://therainbow.com.ng/nlc-rejects-new-electricity-charges/ |
