PoliticsIgbo Notice To Quit: Middle Belt Group Dissociates Self From Arewa And North by bukifemi1(op): 8:50am On Jul 09, 2017
Kaduna—Middle Belt Patriotic Front, MBPF, has dissociated itself from the three-month notice to quit issued by a coalition of Arewa Youths to Igbo living in the northern part of the country, saying that it does not want to be associated with the North.

At a briefing in Kaduna yesterday, the group said states in the North-Central region and southern parts of Kaduna, Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe and Adamawa states should not be categorised as belonging to Northern Nigeria. Spokesman of the group, Nasiru Jagaba, said as a key region in the country, which paid heavily in fighting for the unity of Nigeria, it cannot fold its arms and watch events degenerate into another civil war. His words: “For the avoidance of doubt, any recourse to threat on any of our brothers from other regions will be met with stiff resistance from the Middle Belt. “We also condemn, in the strongest terms, the perceived patting on the back by some Arewa so-called elders to these misguided Arewa youths, whose conduct is inimical to the peaceful and corporate existence of this nation.”

PoliticsBreaking. Court Adjourned Nnamdi Kanu Case Indefinitely by bukifemi1(op): 5:26pm On Jul 08, 2017
ORIENTAL TIMES has been reliably informed that the court trial of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu which was slated for Tuesday, July 11 has been adjourned.

Kanu and his co-defendants, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe are answering to six count charges which border on conspiracy, treasonable felony, publication of defamatory matter and Kanu’s alleged importation of goods contrary to Section 47(2)(a) of the Customs and Excise Management Act, Cap C45, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

The adjournment came at a time when IPOB claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is allegedly plotting to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari and assassinate its leader, Kanu in the process.

PoliticsTreat The Surrendering Biafrans Well Or Risk Their Children Rising – Gen.Effiong by bukifemi1(op): 5:11pm On Jul 08, 2017
Following the rising agitation over marginalization and the fearless moves of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to the various states of the South-East and his alleged declaration to boycott the November 18th governorship election in Anambra state by Biafrans if referendum is not conducted, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister for Aviation has gone into reminiscing via his tweeter handle the posits of Gen. Philip Effiong, in 1970.

Gen. Effiong the alleged first Vice President and the second President of the now defunct Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 to 1970, has said that Nigeria should ” Treat the surrendering Biafrans well or risk their children rising again” Today undoubtedly his prophetic postulation has come to stay in Nigeria. The alleged marginalization and sufferings of Igbos has triggered Nnamdi Kanu into flouting his bail conditions attributing such disobedience to the likes of president Buhari and others. According to him, he has chosen to die for the liberation of his people...

PoliticsThe Middle-belt Patriotic Front(mb-pf) Press Conference On The Unity Of Nigeria by bukifemi1(op): 9:58pm On Jul 06, 2017
THE MIDDLE-BELT PATRIOTIC FRONT(MB-PF)
PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE UNITY OF NIGERIA
PRESS CONFERENCE BY:-
DATE: WEDNESDAY 5TH JULY, 2017
VENUE: SOKAPU SECRETARIAT No 2B Jega Close, Gwari Avenue, Behind ST. Gerard Hospital Barnawa Kaduna .
TIME: 1:00 pm

It is no longer news that the peace, security, prosperity and unity of our beloved country, Nigeria is now badly threatened.
Therefore we the people of the Middle-Belt of Nigeria comprising : Kwara State, Kogi State, Benue State, Plateau State, Nasarawa State, Taraba State, Niger State. The Federal Capital Territory, as well as the southern parts of Adamawa State, Kaduna State, Kebbi State, Bauchi State, Gombe State, Yobe State and Borno State wish to lend our united voice behind the Middle-belt Forum (MBF) and other affiliate groups to the following:

We , the people of the Middle-Belt of Nigeria wish to let the world know that we are NOT a part of Northern Nigeria and no body in the Northern part has the mandate to speak for us.

We therefore dissociate ourselves from the infamous so-called ‘’KADUNA DECLARATION of the 6th of June 2017 that demanded the exit of our Igbo brothers and sisters from the Northern parts of Nigeria with a threat to their lives and properties.

We commend recent moves by the Federal Government under the leadership of Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to nip this challenge in the bud and we call on all Nigerians and those living in Nigeria to support the Federal Government to not only restore peace but to move Nigeria to greater heights.

These recent developments in the Country with the dangerous propensity they connote, have made it imperative for us to call for this world press conference. We want the entire nation and the global community to note the following: 1) As a key regional block in the Country;historically we paid heavily in fighting for the unity of Nigeria. We cannot, therefore, fold our arms and watch events degenerate into another civil war. No nation in the world has ever survives two civil wars.
(2) We believe unjust and unfair handling of affairs in government gave rise to agitations from different parts of the country; and the agitations have never been this deep and strong. It therefore, behoves on a responsible government to address the basis for these agitations.
(3) The Middle-Belt has been turned into a theater of undeclared war by both Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen (globally adjudged to be the 1st and 4th deadly terror groups in the world).
Their reign of murder and terror on our people and the southern regions of the Country has continued unchallenged, while the government of the day, which is well disposed to contain them has instead protected them; thus creating a deep mistrust from all other regions of the country against the far northern regions.
(4) IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE FIRST RESPONSIBILITY OF ANY GOVERNMENT IS THE PROTECTION OF LIVES AND PROPERTY. IF THEY FAIL IN THIS, THEY HAVE FAILED INDEED.
5)The world community may wish to note that the Hausa - Fulani community in the country has the most effective communication and ethnocentric network that could have been exploited by government since it is the same group that is in power now, noting that this was one of their electoral promises to Nigerians. Hostility would have ceased in a matter of days, if there was any determination on their part to do so by exploiting this network.
Another case-in-point is the clear double standards exhibited by this Government that did nothing when thousands of Christians in the States of Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Southern Borno, Southern Kaduna and parts of Southern Nigeria were brutally murdered by the Fulani herdsmen during almost a decade of a killing spree; but were quick to send a strong military contingent within a week to Taraba state when it was alleged that a few of these same murdering Fulani herdsmen had been killed in the state. This speaks volumes of Government's body language.
(6) The Middle-Belt; therefore; strongly condenms the so called northern youths' call on Igbos to leave the north.
Nigeria belongs to all of us and we call on all to disregard the Arewa call.
For the avoidance of doubt; any recourse to threaten any of our brothers from other regions will be met with stiff resistance from the Middle-Belt. (7) We also condenm in the strongest terms, the perceived parting on the back by some Arewa so called Elders to these mis-guided Arewa Youths whose conduct is inimical to the peaceful and cooperate existence of this nation.
(8.) We call on the global community to take judicial note of the double standards of these Northern Leaders who will scold and call for the arrest of these youth in public BUT behind the scene they actively support them; which is why several weeks thereafter; NO ARREST HAS BEEN MADE TO DATE; rather they are given free backing to make more inflammatory remarks.
(9) Please let the world be advised that the Middle-Belt is NOT part of the north and no body has our mandate to speak for us. We call on other regions of the country to consider us as Middle-Belters which is our identify and that like them too; we have faired worse under the feudal Fulanis and the Hausa North. In collaboration with the Southern parts of Nigeria, we are prepared to break this chain, till all Nigerians are equal and free. (10) we therefore call on the South-West; South-South (our twin brothers) and South-East to partner with us on the United Nigeria project that is RESTRUCTURED; free and fair to all its citizens and liberated from the shackles of these minority oppressors. We see you all as our brothers.
(10) Until and unless it becomes totally inevitable; We strongly support a united Nigeria that is restructured for the common good of all its federating units. (11) On the National Conference Report; we condemn the hypocritical posture of the north. It is ethically and morally reprehensible to have its members participated and sign the report; that was arrived at by consensus; only to back out at the 11th hour; having come to power.
We therefore call for the report's full implementation by government.
The global community should take note.
(12) We wish to express our gratitude to those who have carried our struggle and fight as their fight and struggle. We Commend Gov. Ayo Fayose for being a strong voice of conscience in the land and Jerry Gana for his recent comments about Middle Belt.
Our great tribute goes to Chief Femi Fani Kayode for his continued support and encouragement of the Middle Belters.
You are all friends of the Middle-Belt that have stuck more closely than a brother. Our passive leaders and Elders should be touched by this development of unparalleled love, patriotism and courage for the region by these our brothers and friends. .....................

Thank you all distinguished members of the press for coming to help us tell the world our story.
Long live the Middle-Belt.....Long live our brotherly regions of the federation......
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ...

God bless you all.

Biafra: If Britain ask you to support one Nigeria, ask them to support one EU - Nnamdi

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has lambasted the British government for not support the disintegration of Nigeria.

Kanu was reacting following the British government pledge for one Nigeria, while they recently conducted a referendum that exited them from the European Union (EU).

Kanu, who is the arrowhead of a separatist group that is agitating for a Biafran nation, stated this when he played host to both foreign and local journalists at his home in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

According to him; “Anybody asking you to support one Nigeria doesn’t love you. If you read history, no one will like to be called one Nigeria.

“Whenever anyone tells you to support one Nigeria, tell the person to tell Prime Minister of Britain to support one EU.

“Naturally human being will always agitate when they feel they are not at the right place. For instance when a baby reaches nine months it starts agitating from the stomach.

“It starts finding ways to come out and when the mother refuses to open her legs for it to come out it dies, is that not so?”

PoliticsWAEC Certificate: Buhari Files Appeal Against Ruling Dismissing His Objection by bukifemi1(op): 7:44am On Jul 04, 2017
Davidson Iriekpen
President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed the ruling of Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja who on May 26, 2016 dismissed his preliminary objection in a suit filed by an Abuja-based legal practitioner, Mr. Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe.

Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe had alleged that Buhari was unqualified to aspire to the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria because he did not sit for the Cambridge West African School Certificate WASC) in 1961 as he claimed.

When the suit came up on May 26, Buhari in his preliminary objection challenged the mode of service of the originating summons on him, insisting that he ought to have been served at an address in Kaduna instead of by substituted means at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

However, Justice Ademola, in his ruling, had held that it was incompetent and upheld the service of the originating court processes on Buhari.
The judge held that the service of the court’s processes on the president through the secretariat of the APC was proper.

The court was satisfied that if it was served on a senior officer of the APC at the national headquarters, it would be brought to Buhari’s attention.
Dissatisfied with this ruling, Buhari through his legal team filed a notice of appeal at the Court of Appeal, Abuja Judicial Division on seven grounds of appeal.

The president’s legal team, which endorsed the notice of appeal, is led by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN).
Others are Mr. Lateef O. Fagbemi (SAN), Chief Akin Olujinmi (SAN), Oluwarotimi O. Akeredolu (SAN), Kola Awodein (SAN), Prof. Taiwo Osipitan (SAN), Charles Edosomwan (SAN), Emeka Ngige (SAN), Femi Atoyebi (SAN), Femi Falana (SAN), Funke Aboyade (SAN), H.O. Afolabi (SAN), Muiz Banire (SAN), and 10 other counsel.

When contacted on the phone, the plaintiff, Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe said the president has the constitutional right of appeal and was within his rights to exercise it particularly since he had not yet submitted a defence to the substantive action and had filed nothing in defence of the merits of the case.

Meanwhile, the Principal Registrar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Mr. Jane Egbo, has issued a summons to the parties to appear before her on Monday, June 13, 2016 to settle the records of the president’s appeal.
Also, a check at the Registry of the Federal High Court, Abuja confirmed that the plaintiff has filed an application to amend his originating summons to include prayers for the nullification of the election of Buhari, as he was not qualified ab initio to contest the election having contravened the Electoral Act and committed perjury in claiming to have had a WASC when he never even sat for the examination.

The plaintiff also wants to add prayers for the court to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Buhari and issue a fresh one to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who came second in the 2015 presidential election.

PoliticsGive Middle Belt Autonomy Now. Middle Belt Youth Council by bukifemi1(op):
GIVE MIDDLE BELT AUTONOMY NOW.*
*BY EMMA ZOPMAL, PRESIDENT, MIDDLE BELT YOUTH COUNCIL.*

Nigeria is a prison housing Middle Belters. For a long time, now we've been under the shadow of death. From Tafawa Balewa crisis in the 90's till date. From Kaduna crisis in the 90's till date. From former Gongola state till date. From Jos crisis till date. Benue on fire till date. Nassarawa state has been engulfed too. Are we really citizens of Nigeria and do we deserve all these? In 2010 when Gen. Abdulrahaman Danbazau was Chief of Army Staff during the late President Musa Yar'Adua, Dogo Nahawa pogrom in Plateau state took place where more than 200 lives were killed and homes and properties destroyed by Fulani herdsmen under his nose, he didn't step his leg there nor made an arrest, no inquiry was made by the military, no compensation or relief material or rehabilitation by Nigerian government. . A paraThe rampaging Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen have devastated Middle Belt people and their communities in Southern Kaduna, Southern Bauchi, Southern Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Nassarawa, Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Kogi and even Abuja, yet, we've not seen any action by Nigerian government to put an end to it either by arming our communities to defend or providing adequate security measuresmount ruler was gruesomely murdered in Bokkos Local Govt in Plateau state, President Buhari did not even send condolence message. Killings in Benue, Southern Kaduna, Plateau, Taraba and other Middle Belt communities have become a normal thing to government that it does not even care. I was not surprised when I saw the Minister of Interior, Gen Danbazau descending to Taraba with a heavy fact-finding team orchestrated by the Federal Government on the reprisal clash in Mambila Plateau, Sardauna Local Government. It calls to question why this special interest of the present Federal Government in that clash? The answer is just that Fulanis were affected. This has proven to the world that Nigerian government takes Fulani lives and their cattle to be more precious to it than human lives or the lives and properties of Middle Belters destroyed by these same Fulanis. It's obvious that Middle Belters are hated in Nigeria. Niger Delta are agitating because of resources marginalization, Biafra is agitating because of political marginalization, likewise the Yorubas. But we the Middle Belters are agitating because we're killed daily and we're facing extermination by Fulani herdsmen and our future survival is bleak. To this end, we've lost any sense of nationhood in Nigeria. It's now imperative that Middle Belters should move for autonomous state of Middle Belt in Nigeria. After all, Palestine is autonomous in Israel, the state o Kashmir in India is autonomous with its constitution because of their peculiar nature just like the Middle Belt region. The autonomy in Nigeria will help the Middle Belt people to plan their lives and defend themselves but yet remain in Nigeria; but in an event any part of Nigeria will secede, we will declare our Republic. For the sake of peace, unity of Nigeria and safety of our people, Middle Belt deserves an autonomy. I want to advise Middle Belt politicians to dissociate themselves from those who do not have us at heart. And our people should vote out any Middle Belt politician who romance with our enemies. This is the only way to go in this country. For Nigeria to grow and unite, every region must have a mutually independent status.

(CNN)With the value of oil and the Naira currency in decline, Nigeria is turning to old-fashioned pencils to provide relief.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, recently announced that the first pencil plant in West Africa would start production in 2018.

"We have all the things to produce a pencil, which is used by a large number of people from our young pupils to engineers," Onu told Nigerian newspaper The Daily Trust.
"The private sector will come in to do the production and we will see the benefits. When production of pencils begins, Nigerians will be amazed at the multiplier effects. It will create a minimum of 400,000 jobs."
The Minister explained that pencils use raw materials that Nigeria possesses in abundance, such as wood, graphite, and rubber. All pencils are currently imported, which has become prohibitively expensive as the Naira struggles.

It is hoped that pencil production can help to revive the manufacturing sector, which has declined since the oil boom of the 1970s.
The textile industry alone employed around 350,000 people in the 1980s, a figure that has fallen to 25,000 today. The total manufacturing sector employed 18% of the workforce in 1982, but under 12% today.
The government has adopted former President Goodluck Jonathan's Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) to scale up industrial production. Onu claims that pencils will be the first of 1,000 products that could now be manufactured domestically, with six-cylinder engines next on the list.
Pencils can be a logical first step in developing industrial capacity, believes Professor of Economics Stephen Onyeiwu of Allegheny College.
"Pencils use simple, mature technology and raw materials that can be sourced domestically," says Onyeiwu. "The size of the market is huge, and we could export to other African countries."
The Professor believes that success with pencils could pave the way for more sophisticated production. Economic analysts Mckinsey predict Nigerian manufacturing has the potential to deliver output of $144 billion a year by 2030, up from $35 billion in 2013.
Faith gap
However, Onyeiwu is skeptical of state-led industrial enterprise, citing the past failure of fertilizer and cement initiatives, and stresses the need for private sector leadership.
"The history of the government's involvement in the industrial sector has been disappointing," he says. "The government's role should be to facilitate...they should introduce policies to attract private investors (such as) to bring down interest rates."

Reaction to the pencil project has been largely negative, with many social media users noting the contrast with neighboring Uganda's launch of a solar-powered bus.
One scathing article by Nigerian journalist Emmanuel Uchenna Ugwu attacked the scheme as a "dubious joke."
"It is a pity that Nigeria is fantasizing about the made-in-Nigeria pencil in this age," the author wrote. "That the government of Nigeria is projecting the coming pencil as a sort of technological revolution shows that Nigeria has recorded satisfactory success only in insulting and betraying its potential."

PoliticsThe Cry Of The Almajiri (part 2) by bukifemi1(op): 7:57pm On Jun 29, 2017
THE CRY OF THE ALMAJIRI (PART 2)

To the people of the south-west, south-south, south-east and the Middle belt I say the following.

We must be steadfast and strong. We must look to our God and draw our courage and inspiration from Him. We must take off the gloves and get down to some hard work.

We must forge closer ties and remain united.
We must stand shoulder to shoulder and resist these hegemonist and born-to-rule devils with every fibre of our being.

The Holy Bible says that the blessing of the Lord resides where there is unity.

It tells us that the power of God flows where and when there is unity between believers and when those that share common values and a common world view are in one accord.

That is why the north spends a good deal of its time trying to sow seeds of division between the ethnic nationalities of the south. They feed on and draw strength from our petty rivalries and internal divisions.

Yet the truth is as follows. We all know it but no-one wants to say it. And that truth is that the answer to Nigeria's problems is not just in restructuring because too much innocent blood has been spilt and shed by our collective oppressors over the last years fifty seven years.

Restructuring is only the first step and it is nothing but a means to an end. Essentially it is just a temporary and ephemeral palliative. It is a good first step in what will be a long and hopefully peaceful journey to an expected and better end.

The final and lasting solution to our numerous problems is either a complete break up of the nation into five or six pieces at the very worse or the implementation of what has come to be known as the "Gideon Orkar" solution where the two core northern zones of the north-west and the north-east are excised and expelled from the federation at the very best.

Either of the two options are fine by me. Too much innocent blood has been shed over the years by the internal colonislists for anything else to suffice.

There can no longer be any genuine love and true fellowship between us. And if we say that there is or that there can be then we are just fooling ourselves and pretending.

Why should we continue to be our brother's keeper when that brother hates us so much?

The bottom line is that there is no longer any basis for unity between the north and the south.

Between the Hausa Fulani core north and the rest of the country there is no love lost!

The great Greek philosopher Plato once said, "no-one is more hated than he who speaks truth".

He is absolutely right. Yet despite that I have spoken the truth on this matter anyway and I stand to be corrected. I have spoken that bitter truth because I refuse to be intimidated or to be bound by political correctness.

Love me or hate me and take it or leave it. And despite the hatred and the insults that will come as a consequence of speaking truth, posterity will prove me right and judge me kindly.

Meanwhile I laugh when I read the obscene words and hear the obnoxious and self-serving cry of the almajiri.

They have said that "the Yoruba are chronic backstabbers" and that is an insult that they will live to regret. When will these creatures learn that they need Nigeria far more than Nigeria needs them?

The time of glorifying themselves and feeding their vain and fanciful delusions of grandeur will soon be over.

Until then we shall continue to look unto the hills from whence our help and we shall continue to call on the Lord of Hosts and the Ancient of Days to deliver us from these hateful Arewa demons.

Permit me to end this contribution with the words of Pastor Bayo Oladeji who is the spokesman of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). On 29th June he wrote:

"When we told you that Christians are being marginalised and being descriminated against in the North, they said we are lying. We dare them to publish name of public schools in the North where Christian Religious Education is being taught; name of states where churches are being given the CofO of their land; name of states where Christians are given support for holy pilgrimages as it is being done for the Muslims they are keeping quiet! Yet they are paying lips service to the unity of Nigeria. As long as a group of people or a section of the country are being treated as second class citizens, the unity of the country will remain a mirage!"

May those that dispute the fact that we have a major and festering problem in this country and that unity between the core Muslim north and the rest of the country is nothing but a vain illusion consider Oladeji's insghtful words.

The great Fench writer and philosopher Voltaire said, "to know who rules over you simply find out who you cannot criticise".

Those slaves that find it difficult to challenge or criticise the northerners and their numerous excesses and acts of tyranny clearly know who their masters are. May God help them before it is too late.

I would rather die on my feet as a free man than live on my knees as a slave.(CONCLUDED).

THE CRY OF THE ALMAJIRI (PART 1)

On June 27th 2017 in Daura, Katsina State one Tanko Abdullahi and one Mohammed Shehu, after a meeting of the Arewa Youth Council, issued the following statement. They said,

“We are very much aware that all the attacks against President Muhammadu Buhari were planted in the media by the Yoruba and spread by southerners generally just to discredit the north in order to pave way for their son, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to become President.

But their plans will fail insha Allah. We shall resist every of such plans and ensure by all means possible, that the north completes its eight-year tenure and possibly even continue after then, and that the federal structure of Nigeria as it currently is, is not tampered with by secession mongers and their collaborators.

Having given power to the Yoruba on a platter of gold in 1999 as a way of compensating them for the June 12 saga, it is quite worrisome and unfortunate that they have lived up to their legendary reputation of backstabbing and betrayal by supporting the divisive calls for restructuring or dismemberment of the nation against the will and desire of the north.

We gave the late Chief MKO Abiola the mandate in 1993 but shortly after that, as it is with the Yoruba as a culture, they immediately started circling around Abiola plotting on how to emasculate the north and strip us of every access we had to the politics and economy of this nation.

They had also raised a secret army of their elites to carry out these sinister plans against the north if Abiola eventually became President. It was this army that was unleashed on the nation in the guise of NADECO during the June 12 impasse.

May we remind the Yoruba that without the willingness and magnanimity of the north, there was no way Abiola could have purportedly won that election, and that all the Yoruba have now as assets in the south west, especially Lagos, were given to them by our leaders out of our own usual magnanimity.

However, time and time again, the Yoruba have always turned their back on us whenever their support is needed. They have chosen to pitch tent with the Igbo this time around just to spite us, but we shall not succumb to their antics".

Their words are laced with hate, fuelled by ignorance, filled with contempt, propelled by hubristic pride and garnished with the arrogance of Atilla the Hun: indeed they have spoken like the true almajiris that they are.

Meanwhile let us look at the facts.

12 million children are out of school in Nigeria. Out of the 12 million, 10 million are from the north whilst Kano state alone has 3 million beggars.

Nigeria has the highest number of young girls suffering from Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) in the world. And 90 per cent of those young girls are from the north.

According to the UNDP 72 per cent of northern Nigerians are living below the poverty line.

According to UNICEF if Nigeria were to ever break up the core north would be the poorest and most barren place on the African continent.

According to Nasir El Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna state in northern Nigeria, if the north-western zone of the country were to ever find itself on its own it would be poorer and more ravaged by war than Afghanistan.

According to the World Terror Index Boko Haram and the Fulani militias are the first and fourth "most deadly terrorist organisations in the world" respectively and they both come from northern Nigeria.

According to UNESCO 65 million Nigerians, which represents 50 per cent of the total population!) are stark illiterates and 55 million of them are from the north.

According to UNICEF the heartland and base of pedophiia, child sex, child slavery and child marriage on the African continent is northern Nigeria.

According to President Donald Trump of the United States of America "northern Nigeria is one of the most dangerous places for Christians to live in the world" and "Christians are murdered there in their thousands every year whilst Churches are blown up and burnt down".

According to CNN "the bastion of radical Islam, Islamic terror and Islamic fundamentalism in Africa is northern Nigeria".

According to Governor Yari of Zamfara state in north western Nigeria the north has been afflicted with all manner of diseases and epidemics, including meningitis, as a consequence of their many sins against Allah.

According to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo the northern states "have the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the country, the lowest rate of child enrolment in schools, the highest number of unemployed young people, the highest levels of poverty and faces the challenge of inter-ethic and inter-religious conflict including the Boko Haram terrorism.”

All these daunting challenges, disturbing facts and alarming statistics and instead of putting their house in order the Arewa Youth Coalition not only threaten the Igbo with mass murder and genocide and order them to leave the north by October 1st but they have also gone a step further by insulting the Yoruba and accused us of being "serial traitors" and of "trying to impose Osinbajo on Nigeria as President".

This is the same Osinbajo that has bent over backwards to appease them, that has taken all their insults and provocations and that has resolved to accept the fact that he is more a co-ordinator of government affairs than an Acting President.

I really do wonder what these young northerners really want?

They issue quit notices to fellow Nigerians and they are still going about freely and with AK47 and daggers stained with the blood of their innocent compatriots.

They issue statements insulting their compatriots by calling them ungrateful backstabbers even after stabbing and butchering them to death .

They tell the world that Yoruba Muslims are not real Muslims and that they will never allow them to lead in prayers in the mosque.

I ask again what do these young northerners really want?

Do they really believe that the rest of us are interested in THEIR Nigeria anymore? To many the unity of Nigeria is not sacrosanct and neither do we insist on it at the cost of our lives, our future, our self-respect and our dignity.

This position has been confirmed and re-affirmed by the General Alani Akinrinade-led Yoruba Assembly, the Odua People's Congress, the Odua Liberation Movement and Afenifere itself.

We may love Nigeria but we are not prepared to sacrifice our liberty on the alter as a sacrifice to her gods and neither are we prepared to be treated like animals or a people that have no history or do not know where they are coming from. The Yoruba culture and race are irresistable and irrepressable.

The influence and power of the ancient Yoruba empire and people stretches from South America, the Carribean, West Africa, various parts of western Europe and other parts of the world till today.

We come from an ancient lineage of empire and tradition which is thousands of years old and which pre-dates Christianity and Islam. We are well-educated, focused and strong.

We have never been conquered in battle and we have never lost a war to a foreign aggressor or usurper. We are slow to anger but irresistable in battle.

We are a proud and noble race from an illustrious and royal heritage: se bow to no other. That is who and what we are.

If Nigeria remaining one means that we must live as slaves and serfs whilst the north laud it over us and insult us every day then we say let her break and let us go our separate ways before we kill each other.

It is only in this country that those with a blood-lust, the perverted, the depraved, the lazy, the parasitic, the barren, the poor and the dieseased insist on leading and ruling over the peace-loving, the sane, the wholesome, the righteous, the generous, the kind, the accomodating, the hard-working, the productive, the prosperous and the healthy.

In view of these racist, divisive and provocative rantings and sentiments from the northern youths (which in my view have the tacit support and backing of their traditional rulers, political elite, trusted leaders and reverred elders) those of us from other parts of the country must wake up, smell the coffee, get our act together and rise up to the challenge and to the occassion.

This is the time for men and women of valour and strength to step up to the plate and redeem the honor of their kith and kin. This is the time to say "enough is enough!" (TO BE CONTINUED).
