Education / Re: 2018/2019 PTDF LSS Scholarship Award Discussions by bukkyche(m): 11:11pm On Sep 30, 2020
So the mail for the documentation dropped yesterday. Mine is on 12th October. Unfortunately, I am presently not in Nigeria as I have gone for another studies in USA. Who knows or has an idea on what I should do about the induction? I am thinking of sending them a mail of my unavailability for the documentation

Good afternoon everyone
As regards the link sent for update yesterday. Is it just me or the edit link isn't going through for everyone yet?
I mean, have anyone been able to update through their edit link?

Mine worked. I used the PIN. Although I did not get any mail after the update. I just tire for PTDF. Am just following their games and delay tactics

The mail looks like a bait to me. Perhaps they are doing to make us feel all is under control. I think we should see to this matter till the end by letting out our minds on twitter

Yeah. Going by the development in Nigeria, with the allegations against the NDDC in all regards including the NDDC scholarship money that were alleged to be stolen by the NDDC officials, similar agencies like PTDF may just wanna come up with something just to show they are working and prevent them being called out. Those who operate twitter should tweet, those who use Facebook should also post in the PTDF group. We need to cry out till the money is paid. I do not know how many times we would update the record. We did that twice before the interview, we presented all the documents during interview, we updated the record in November last year, did another one around April this year. Now this mail again. This people will not answer when you send them letters privately, all of you should keep posting on there Twitter , LinkedIn, Facebook page etc

Am talking from experience when I had delay with my payment with GTBANK and passport with immigration officer

I am not on Twitter. I have searched for them on Facebook. There one account I think is theirs based on the contents in the group. So I would advise each person to search for "Petroleum Technology Development Fund" on Facebook. When you open the group, for all the posts that were made this year (2020 posts), you can lay the complaint under the comment section that the 2018/2019 LSS awardees have not received payment after they have submitted all the necessary documents. This is just what I am doing right now too

PTDF is just wasting time, October will make it 2 years we did this application.
I don't think school ressumption has anything to do with our scholarship because the application and selection processes was completed successfully.
And most of us are doing our researches even in the midst of COVID-19.
Kindly note that we are talking about 2018/2019 because that is what we applied for: https://ptdf.gov.ng/application-for-2018-19-petroleum-technology-development-fund-ptdf-scholarship-for-undergraduate-postgraduate-awards-in-nigerian-federal-universitiesapplication-for-2018-19-petroleum-technology-de/

Dear All, we need to take the bull by its horn. I suggest we communicate them through the Telegram channel. Reminding them that what we applied for started 2018/2019. Let us not be cowards. The highest thing they will do is to block anyone that posts on the Telegram platform but I assure you, they must officially communicate us by email when the time comes because Telegram is not an official communication channel.
If we don't tlalk now, time may past us and they will tell us that PTDF scholarships are not 'retrospective'.
Please how does the telegram thing work?? Give me a head up on that and I will follow it. I did send a mail to the contact I saw in the helpline two days ago but didnt get any response. Tell me how the telegram stuff works

LSS can only be attended to when schools resumes
That should work for the 2019/2020 session nah. We are talking about 2018/2019. So what exactly would opening of school effect?? Can you be specific with this your information please?

Good one Bro.
I sugeest we start another thread specifically for LSS 2018/2019 applicants.
Draw the attention of many awardees there so that whenever a reasonable post is made, we will have enough people to share it on their social media platforms.
By so doing, FG will hear our voices.
My suggestion though!

Nice one, you can create the group. I am one of the awardees but I am currently not in Nigeria
Education / Re: 2019/2020 PTDF Local & Overseas Scholarship- Check If You Have Been Shortlisted by bukkyche(m): 3:03pm On Jul 09, 2020
Some of awardees have even finished the program already yet the induction has not even taken place talk more of the payment. I do not know if there is any WhatsApp group already but the awardees need to act, not just expressing their grievances here on nairaland. If there is a WhatsApp group, what and what have they discussed or planned to do in this regard? It could start from making a post on all the social media platforms. Each awardee would share the post and from there, the news would spread. Getting PTDF scholarship is not easy, starting with the rigorous application process to travelling miles for the interview etc. At the end, it would become stories. Covid 19 can never be an excuse because the money had already been budgeted for. This is 2018/2019 scholarship we are talking about so Covid 19 can not affect it. Action is what is needed and not just mere talks in a little space here on nairaland

I saw neither executive Trainee nor mgt Trainee in the letter. Okay lemme divulge this, I will be starting as a Junior Chemical Engineer. That's d position. As for d offer being "wow" or not, my brother it's absolutely relative, what is "shitty" for me could be a "wow" for another person and vice versa. And also, I have 6months Industrial Training (IT) experience in a fertilizer blending Plant. It may or may not be the reason for my posting there. I wish everyone well. # dont have any other info to relate# Thanks

Yeah. I have finally gone and come back. Lemme ease the tension
I was given just a printed copy of the offer to go through and say if I am comfortable with it or not. I read it and later gave it back to him after affirming to its content. He took it and then printed an intro letter for my medicals. I took d letter to d stated hospital and did my medicals. Already I was told that I would be contacted as soon as d medical result is out for my documentation. I will equally be told when to resume during d documentation
As for the offer, mine is for fertilizer. Yeah, I asked d man "why fertilizer instead of refinery" he said I should even be happy God has given me sth. That he doesnt know why ppl are bent on the Refinery that they dnt know if it will start next year. The way he said it made not to ask further. That they have Refinery and Petrochemical of which fertilizer falls under the latter.
I believe others would be for Refinery but I doubt if they will be called this year for medicals and others (my thought though).

I am a"he" not a "she". Well, I am thinking the position is different. I wouldnt know Until I see d offer letter. I wonder why some people are too ridiculous. For someone to think I would joke with this Dangote job stuff is really amazing. U think I have not been worried myself?? As for my application status, it's still reading "under review".

I am in stream one. We have been doing the exercises for the executive Traineeship position. I did d test, group discussion, interview, I psychometric test and another interview which I don't know why. I have no relevant experience ooooooooo. Just 7months experience in an Electricity Distribution Company. I am a Chemical Engineering graduate. Well, I will go there on Monday most likely. I just pray and hope it's for the same position

@eazichris are U sure of what U are saying? My first and 2nd interviews were technical and not competency based as U are claiming. I am a Chemical Engineer so d questions were on Thermodynamics, design, distillation, refrigeration. It's more of technical than competency based interview ooooo coz it's done by two Indians. They have no time for normal competency based questions. My opinion though

Okay let me share this
I did the test, group discussion, interview and psychometric test. While i was patiently waiting for the offer letter, I got a mail on tuesday to come for an interview on Friday. I was worried coz I had done that before and believe U me, it was hell an interview (coz I was among the first set that did the first day - THE LAB RATS). well, I thought to myself, "maybe they want me to redo the interview". I went there yesterday. We were 10 in number. I was the last to be interviewed. Now out of the other 9,only one did that test, a petroleum Engr. Others ddnt; some even said they couldnt remember applying to Dangote sef. Well my interview went very very very well (was happy I answered all d questions well). There were two Indians but not the ones that interviewed me the other time. One of us was told they have no vacancy for her because of her course of study and lack of Relevant experience. Believe me, the peeps in the HR department may not even have details or info about the offer mail. But whatever happens, I believe it will surely come. Let's just be patient.
