FrankNetter: Exactly bro. I met this black dude at my work place, I noticed he had tribal marks so I knew he was African, it was after we spoke a few times he told me he’s from Sierra Leone.
See, I don’t mean to join the “I know a friend who has money” bandwagon, but this guy makes good money just loading trailers. He’s worked here since he got out of high school at age 17+. He’s like 35 now. This. Guy. Makes. Money.
He’s paid $39.50/hr Jesus Christ. He’s entitled to 12hrs a day (with overtime if he asks for it) he has two degrees all paid for by UPS. It was after he told me how much he makes a week that I understood why he’s always happy and cheerful at work.
My point is; there’s money to be made in America in whatever field you desire. All you gotta do is be willing to show up to work and do your part. ...that part no easy during snow and storm time. Na that time overtime sweet pass. |

lordally: What of Software Development or App Development?? I'm not too sure about certifications of those. Sun java, Oracle, Unix, security, network, data center... certifications in those areas are incredibly good. Most importantly, you must be allowed to work in US.. work permit, green card. |

KingLinglee, like Kroger pointed, get certified in CCNA or CompTIA Network +. I've done my ccna 3 times after each expiration. You can also try CompTIA A+ for systems repairs. Those certifications would get you job easily here, entry level IT jobs between $15-$21/hr pay, depending on experience. You will really enjoy those jobs here. Get the books, get some on the job experiences. Follow network engineers to sites, optimize network installations or computer couplings. Take the exams and get certified... you won't regret this. |

EwuOjota: Complex issues.
I wonder if the white people take advertorials to announce they are marrying black people?I dont think so.
Black people with inferiority complex will not change.
Just write that a NAIRALANDER just got married and we will tell them congratulations. Stop putting the white woman shiii there. Exactly! |

Ugosample: You can't call food from another culture "nonsense"
It's rude distasteful and wrong
You are not accustomed to the food (like most black folks)
that does not mean the food is rubbish Don't misunderstand me. Their food is good for them but not for me...likewise our food can't be good for them. 'Nonsense' in this context is just a personal expression |

You are right about the many distractions, i was once distracted a while ago and i had to slap myself back to reality .. Where do u reside? Yeah, I was once like that, I had to bone distractions , sat for my certification exams, worked some years then started my business. I dey Massachusetts, the spirit of America Btw, tire business is very good. Thumb up there for that plan, dont lose focus! |

^^^ Having a business in America is good. Six years of hard work, hard savings, hard determination, hard focus, landed me a business, healthcare IT staffing business. You can't imagine what I rake in per day. There are some sweet European countries good for business (Sweden, Norway, Germany...) , language barrier is a thorn in the flesh here. Don't waste time in America, do what you gat to do while the sun shines, have plans, have focus. Many things can derail one's life here. Life is good here, plenty babes, plenty attractions, access to loans, cars, mortgages et al. Some peeps would work a $10/hr job for years with no determination or plans to go to school, online studies.... C'mon, do not get stuck on a life like that. Make plans and make the moves then you good.. |

^^^ Be wary of what you eat out there. I don't like American culinary. I was served half cooked beef the other day, I shouted kileleyi? Come see blood on my dish. I told the guy, ogbeni, give me well cooked beef...I mean 'thoroughly cooked' beef. He said the beef would die. I was like egbami ke, the beef no go die before? |
