Lol. Question: Is it wrong to be jealous?
Christianity EtcI'm Jealous! So What?? by Bvsteph(op): 3:19pm On Aug 31, 2014
As Christians, we can be Jealous right? We can be Jealous about our brother getting a car and we have nothing, we can be Jealous when our family gives much more attention to one sibling than the whole lot, we can be Jealous when our bestfriend is focusing on another instead of us. Jealousy is a product of love...right?

Exodus 20: 5 and so many other passages tell us about God being Jealous. If God is a Jealous God, then who are we 'NOT' to be Jealous?

Pls continue after the cut

Lets break it down into bits

1. Is Jealousy a product of Love....Yes or No?

2. God is our ultimate model. The one we must follow, the one true, and perfect and holy being. If God can be Jealous, then we can too?... Is being Jealous Right or Wrong?

A. If it's right, then why do most people leave a relationship because their partners are "too Jealous"? Why can't we all see it as a good thing not a bad thing?

B. If it's wrong, then why is God a Jealous God? God whose footsteps we must follow, can be Jealous, and He says it boldly and shows it, yet we that are His own should not? If it's right with God then why is it wrong with man? Aren't we created in God's likeness and image?

Maybe....i think Guys generally just lack self control
psucc: Me think men had that privilege from their Creator.

You can't imagine divorcing a woman from for adultery but the man keeps on 'brusying'.

Its still a mystery
Christianity EtcRe: Were Men Created To Cheat??!! by Bvsteph(op): 5:26pm On Aug 24, 2014
Yea i know he doesn't...i was just wondering why there wasn't a law in place to sanction the man
hushmail: 1. D woman was not accounted for n brought forward cos literally speaking she is property of a man. Ie a man has paid d bride price

2. Down to our time, depends on d pple concerned. Some families can not tolerate cheating either from man or woman. Also even d courts can give a woman divorce if she complains of infidelity on her husband's part.

God also does not support adultery.

Wonder how u came up wt dat theory

John 8:3-5 reads:
"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, 'Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery....Pause...

Can adultery be committed with one's self? Where is the man? Did he die or something? Why wasn't he brought forward?

Continue....
Vs 5: "In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”
The Law of Moses, is the Law of God, Christ came to uphold the law. Did the Law of God exempt a man who commits adultery?

Questions

1. Why exactly was the man not accounted for and brought forward? Is it safe to say God ordered only the women to be punished in such situations?

2. Bringing it back to our world today.....why is it not a big deal when men cheat? Could we truly say that by default God built in that attribute in all men?...Like they could choose to dwell on it or not, but by default all men are more likely to cheat than the female folks because God created them that way..because they were built in that pattern?

What do you think guys?

Man-made? For real??
Liveair: See how you throw caution to the wind just because of your belief, calling those who don't believe "f**ls". How are you better than a fundamentalist?
Now, what wonders? You mean like earthquakes, volcanoes or tsunanis or disease pathogens everywhere?
Problem i have with some folks is their aversion for research and knowledge.
You heard about the Big bang Theory, without even researching into what it proposes yet you just conclude that your belief is the truth.
Anyway, op, this your question just summerizes the point that the concept of God is Man-made.
Christianity EtcWho Lured Satan To Sin? by Bvsteph(op):
I have always had issues with Faith. It's hard for me to just believe what i cannot see or feel, it's much easier to recoil into doubt and fear. But then the unseen is much more real than what we see, that brings us to the topic. Hebrews 11:6 says," But without faith it is impossible to please Him..." And one of the ways we can please God is by giving our all to him, which means salvation, the question now is, do you have faith because you are saved or are saved because you have faith?

Let's break it down,

1. Is faith inherent in every human being? or Does God give us the faith to believe in Him? Romans 12:3 says:"...I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned." So would it be safe to say God assigns a measure of faith to everyone? If that is the case, why are unbelievers at fault if they don't have faith?

2. Do you get faith to be saved? or you get faith because you are saved? Is salvation created by faith or is faith created by salvation?

3. This particular question is kinda out of context. Satan was created pure, before satan there was no satan...if you understand what i mean. Satan is the enemy, the deceiver, the one that lures everyone to sin.....Who lured satan to sin? How did satan become evil?

Really looking forward to reading your thoughts. Thanks
Christianity EtcMy Rapture Dream by Bvsteph(op): 3:34pm On Aug 10, 2014
It was back then in school. I think on a Sunday morning, can’t remember the day, but i can remember the effect the event had on me. I had slept as usual, but the dream was different this time around. The details are sketchy, i'm sure it’s in my diary but I can’t get to it at the moment. What I can remember was that i was with someone, I think a member of my family. We were in a really small room. It seemed we were hiding there and somehow we already knew rapture had taken place ,don't know how we knew, but we knew.

From the window of the small room we could see it was dark and lots of people were running for their lives as men in horses and all those stuff were pursuing them. Can’t recall vividly the punishment you will be given once caught, but I heard people wailing, crying and screaming in pain. I was scared, very.

I could hear a man going through every house searching and looking for anyone they may have missed. Somehow they missed searching my room, I heard them searching the next room after ours. And then all of sudden the room I was in started collapsing, I held on tightly to the person I was with.

Once the room was down, the men outside realized they had missed our room and came for us. We started running.

I ran so hard that my legs were paining me. I guess they caught the person I was with cause when I turned to look for her, she was gone. I didn’t want them to catch me so I kept running with all my might until my chest was heavy.

They caught up with me and took me. As they were about to beat me up and give me some form of punishment, someone ran out, he was like a savior, he came immediately and told them to stop, that they should not harm me. I happily looked up on him, but then I realized this could not be a real savior, since Jesus had already come to take his people away.

Anyway, at the guy’s instruction, they all stopped. The guy took me by my hand and told me that he loves me. He said he has always loved me, but I never really did like him. He told me that he would spare me from all of these pain and suffering and hardship, that all I had to do was to receive the mark. I told him could not do that. He asked me again, telling me that this would be the last time he was giving me this opportunity. I said same.

Then he told them to take me away, to where “they” were. The guys led me and took me to this very big room, in there everyone was dressed in the same outfit, like prisoners. Each person was called upon to receive the mark and if you refuse, you would be beaten, your fingers cut and all sort of other things. They told me to seat and wait for my turn. As I did, I saw what they did to all those that refused to receive the mark, I was scared but there was no way I could run out. I was wondering why I didn’t just make heaven in the first place instead of having to go through this.

When it was almost my turn, that same guy came back to me and asked me if I could see what others were going through. He said I could see that he wasn’t going to meet other people and give them second chances like he was giving me, that even though I rejected him, he still cared about me. He told me he would spare me all the pain and struggles and just give me the mark. I still said no, that I couldn't do that. Every other part of the dream is faint, can’t remember if I got out…I can’t remember what happened after his second request.

I woke up and felt like i had ran all night, my chest was heavy, I was breathing so hard that l thought my heart would just fall out. The dream looked and felt so real, I just sat on my bed staring, I was wondering just how much I had ran in the dream if I could still feel my chest paining me real life. I sat on my bed for a very long time.

I don’t believe bad dreams happen to scare you. I believe they are sort of a revelation, telling you of something that will happen if you don’t make efforts to change it. I believe that if God gives you a bad dream, it’s because that dream can be countered. But if you choose to do nothing about it, then it may come to pass.

Most people have had such dreams. Pls tell us how it happened, your experience and the aftermath. It may go a long way in helping someone

Thanks a lot. But concerning this:
"it's questions like this that get you into trouble (speaking as a human. Cos I know that no matter how u try to contradict God, he'll still love you. But don't continue in it). "

Is it wrong to ask for clarification on something i don't know but would love to know? You making it sound like am committing a sin or something

Jackeeh: Bvsteph it's questions like this that get you into trouble (speaking as a human. Cos I know that no matter how u try to contradict God, he'll still love you. But don't continue in it). That being said, let me point something out to you and others who are in doubt of God's will concerning healing.
1. Is healing God's will? Emphatically, YES!!! Acts 10:38 - "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him". Jesus came to do the will of the Father. And healing is one among many. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. God is His Word. Heaven and earth may pass away but His Word will never end. So, yes, healing is still His will.

2. Why then am I not healed?
A. Misplaced priority - Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you". First things first, you need something from a Holy God, so humble yourself and seek Him. Seek Him first. Seek His Kingdom first. You can then find Him by accepting His Son, our Lord Jesus as your Lord and saviour. Sincerely believe Jesus in your heart and confess Him with your mouth. This is the most important first step to receiving your healing. I mean you've done it the world kind of way, it ain't working, what have you got to loose by accepting Jesus? And kick starting your miracle?

B. Sin - Isaiah 59:1 "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear". Thank You Lord for the blood of Jesus. Thank You Lord for the righteousness of Jesus which is at work in me. So what are you waiting for? Is there any sin you need to confess and forsake? It's your healing we're talking about here, so start forsaking.

C. Unbelief - James 1:6"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord". I rest my case.

D. Lack of Faith - I don't need to stress on this nah. Faith is Very vital.

E. Fear - Hebrews 2:14 "In as much then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through FEAR of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage". Fear exalts satan and keeps u in bondage . Fear attempts to belittle An all powerful God. He wants to step in and do His thing but you're telling Him it's hopeless and there's nothing he can do. You limit Him when you entertain fear. And as your fear grows, satan continues to worsen your health till he kills you. But when you put all your faith in God, he tells you to step back while He takes over. Which is easier? Fear or Faith. Choose Faith in God

F. Un forgiveness - Mark 11:25 "And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses”. So before you even start accusing God, search yourself and make amends where possible. It's not easy, I know. But it can hinder your prayers. So do the needful.

G. Trial and error - "let me give God a trial sha", "Hmmmm let me see if it'll work", "well if it doesn't work, I could always go elsewhere " etc. Oh so you even have other options, abi? Hmmmmmmmmm why don't you make Jesus your only option today and see that healing come to you.

H. The wrong kind of prayer - " Father please if it's your will, please heal me". This type of prayer will kill you cos you won't get results. Try this kind, works for me all the time; " Father you said that by your stripes I'm healed, so I'm healed. Father you sent your word and it healed me, so I'm healed. Father, you said that Your divine power has given me everything that pertains to life........... healing pertains to life,so I receive and I'm healed". it's that simple

3. How can I receive my healing?
- receive Jesus
- begin and nurture a close relationship with Him. I know at times ul make mistakes or slip back into sin. It's OK. But don't beat yourself up. Don't give up cos of guilt. It's not by ur righteousness or good works anyway. It's by the righteousness of Jesus working through you. So get back up when you slip. Be sorry and continue with Him. He still loves you.
- Ask by faith in prayer.
- Believe by faith that you have received
- your symptoms are still there? Don't dwell on them. You have asked according to His will through Jesus, I guarantee you have been heard and answers given. That's faith at work.
- Don't doubt. Don't entertain doubt. Don't entertain natural men who don't understand spiritual things. Don't go looking for logic. Concentrate on building up your faith.
- while waiting for the physical manifestation of your healing, don't stop praising God and thanking Him. This makes Him go all out for you
- don't be distracted. Don't say," well Mr. A didn't survive so why should my case be different? Don't say or entertain such. You are not Mr. A. You are you.
- meditate on His word especially healing scriptures until they are deeply rooted in your heart
- keep praising Him
- have anionted hands led on you and prayers of faith offered.
- keep confessing your healing
- keep thanking God for your healing. Don't ever stop
- when it finally comes( could be instant though- a miracle or take some time- a healing. But answers are released IMMEDIATELY you ask), share with the brethren in order to encourage someone.
- still, thank God.
Christianity EtcDoes God Want Everyone Healed? by Bvsteph(op): 1:43pm On Aug 03, 2014
A preacher once said: "Some people are in the hospital on oxygen!....Tell me, has God not been good to you??" The people all responded: "He has been good!". The statement left me wondering, does it mean God has not been good to those in the hospital?

1 Peter 2: 24 and Isaiah 53: 5 reminds us that we are healed by the stripes of Jesus, by the wounds of Jesus. Also Matthew 9: 35 and other verses reminds us that, where ever He went, Jesus healed the sick. The question now is, Does God truly want everyone to be in good health? No matter what, i don't think Jesus healed every single person in all of the villages He went through. Just like the bible says in Deut 15: 11, that there would always be the poor among us.....is it the same thing with sickness? Would there always be those sick among us?

1. Is it God's will that everyone be healed? That everyone be in good health? Are some sicknesses not there to glorify God's name? If it's not God's will that everyone be healed of their sickness, then why did He tell us in 1 Peter 2:24 that we are healed by His stripes? Maybe it would have been "some people" are healed by His stripes...right?

2. If it's God's will that we are all healed from sicknesses...then why are there sick true believers around us? Why do pastors fall sick? Sometimes pastors who heal others, fall sick and pray about it till the end. Isn't it God's will for us that we all be in good health? Isn't God going against His word when believers fall sick and do not get healed? Why would a God that love us so much, stand by and watch His own suffer till the very end?

3. In sicknesses, I've always wondered where the place of drugs as a christian comes in. Agreed, i believe God gave the doctors the wisdom they use in prescribing and giving out drugs, but what if i choose to believe in my Father totally, on the grounds that God is the greatest physician and so therefore i do not need another one. Isn't trusting in drugs not an act of faithlessness in itself?
In school then, sometimes our pastor would tell us that if we have, say a headache, pray and confess otherwise, and watch God heal you. You don't doubt your confession or start questioning if God can truly heal you and then later run to take drugs.

Like the woman with the issue of blood and so many other people that God has healed, they didn't run back to the doctor for drugs, once God said the word, that was it....Is that not how true healing should be like?...Trusting God so much that you trust in no other. Why should we then run to visit a doctor or take drugs?.. When you have faith in God, where does having faith in drugs come in?

Now whatever way this natural act(sex) is carried out is dependent on each individual. Same with eating less to become anorexic or too much to become obese. Nothing to do with yeye demons!

Christianity EtcHow Many Demons Are Transferred During Sex? by Bvsteph(op): 2:00pm On Jul 27, 2014
I have two questions. Here's the first

1. A week long revival just ended in my church. And you know how revivals can be, we come today and ask for the exact same thing we requested yesterday and the day before and last week, last month, years ago and all of that...where exactly does the place of faith come in? Aren't we all supposed to pray once and believe that God who isn't deaf in any way at all, has heard and answered our prayers?

Pls continue

1 Thessalonians 5: 17 says: pray without ceasing There is also the story of the persistent widow who didn't stop asking until something happened, if she stopped, her situation would have remained the same.
There is the story of Paul that kept asking for a particular thorn in his flesh to be taken away and so many other instances. The point am trying to make is, praying persistently over an issue is biblical, afterall Daniel prayed for something, God sent the answers to his prayers, but the Prince of Persia held it. Daniel had to pray again before the answers to his prayers were delivered to him. (Check that out in Daniel 10:11-13) If Daniel had not been consistent then his answers would not have been given him.

But in being persistent in prayers, don't we push away faith? Isn't God more eager to answer how prayers than we even are to pray?
God says whenever we ask for something we should believe that he has answered it and it's done. But how can we believe He has heard us and still consistently ask for that same thing from him tomorrow? Isn't that contradicting our beliefs? But apparently according to the bible we are to both. How can we draw a balance between carrying out both acts and not contradict the bible? Hope you grab the question?

Question 2. They say when you have sex with someone all of the demons and evil stuff is transferred to you. When you have sex with another, another round is transferred to you, because sex is spiritual. So imagine as a guy every girl you have ever slept with has 5 demons. And say you slept with 10. So automatically you have 50 demons inside of you. When you eventually get married...do those demons transfer to your wife too, since you guys would obviosuly have sex, and you are now of one flesh? Does your wife automatically posses the 50 demons too? Or they all vanish from you immediately you get married?
Christianity EtcHatred Or Malice?...what's Worse? by Bvsteph(op): 1:28pm On Jul 20, 2014
They asked this question in church today, but they didn't answer it. I was wondering what the answer was, so i decided to ask you guys. What character trait is worse to posses towards a person, Hatred or Malice?
I would have said both of them are one and the same, but they are not. You can keep malice with someone and not hate the person. At the same time you can hate a person but not keep malice with the person. Personally, i would say malice is worse, for a very weird reason....because of Romans 9:13 which says,
"...‘Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.’"
I feel if God could hate...then, maybe it would be a better quality to have than malice. Yea, i know it's a weird way of looking at the question, but that's what i think sha.

While both qualities are quite terrible, but in general, which would you say is the worse to posses towards a person and why?

Wow! Thanks a lot for the detailed explanations!
Jackeeh: ANSWERS

1. Balaam
- Human
- A foreteller of events. Vs 5
- Able to bless and to curse(he was obviously good at it because he had God's say so) Vs 6
- Able to directly talk to and hear from God. God even used to come to him. Vs 9. Wooooooooow. Do we still have such people today?

2. a. God used Balaam as a mouthpiece for giving His instructions. Vs 12 and 20
b. Babalawo? What kind? Is it the kind I see in movies? That hears from familiar spirits and stay in dirty shrines? That kind? A babalawo is satan's mouthpiece. Balaam was never that. So God can't use satan's mouthpiece and will definitely not speak through them. If you're in trouble, you have the Bible. Search for scriptures that deals with your particular problem and use it in prayers to tackle your problem. Speak God's words back to him and watch him perform. You want to hear God speak, open your bible, attend a bible believing church etc

3. In vs 12, the initial instruction was clear: my boy Balaam no follow this people go anywhere o. U don hear? No go curse Isrealites o. Them be people wey ah don bless o. Shouldn't that have been enough for Balaam? Many Christians are that way today. Was Balaam OK with the initial instruction? Of course not ( vs 19). He still wanted to hear MORE. Maybe God will change his mind on his people since this time, it was Princes that came. Taaah !!!! Not the God I serve. So he went back to ask? He had probably made up his mind to respond to balak's request anyway. Otherwise he wouldn't INSIST on going back to enquire from God. Well he had his way. Vs 20.
If only Balaam had heeded the initial instruction and not insist, all would have been well. So God became angry. Balaam knew Isreal were a people blessed by God himself. And you've been asked to go and curse them and ure even considering doing so? Think people. Think. Initially God said No. People, that ought to have been enough. But he still went. Now God said you can go. Hmmmm. Was it a test? Or Could it have been a chance for Balaam to ask himself questions like ," but God has blessed this people already and that supersedes everything else. Do I really need to go contrary to his will"? "But he said I should go" is it because I insisted?, are my desires and wishes more important than God's instructions? He went ahead and God was angry. As Christians we need to be sensitive in the spirit. Father Almighty we thank you for your grace.

God categorically instructed him not to go. Why couldn't he listen? Why don't we listen? Why do we argue? Cos it doesn't make sense? Cos we know better? And debate. And search for logic. Is God's word not enough?

Take God at His words. Don't go looking for second opinions. You just might not be as lucky as Balaam was. Once again, Father we thank You for your abundant patience, mercy and grace.

Let me give a brief summary of Numbers 22. The Israelites were on their way to the promised land, on foot obviously and they were travelling through countries. When they want to pass through your country they would inform you before hand that they are about passing your territory and you should let them pass. If you don't reply favorable, the Israelites would most likely come, conquer the land and take it away from you, killing all in it. They would settle there until they are ready to move to the next city....they kept on like this

The Israelites reached the plains of Moab, and the king of that place was Balak. Balak was terrified that they would kill him and take over his land too. So he sent for a certain man called Balaam. Normally, if Balaam curses you, you are cursed and if he blesses you , then you are blessed. God however told Balaam not to go anywhere with Balak's people. So Balaam told the people Balak sent, that he can not follow the King and go and curse Israel . However, Balak sent more people a second time to plead with Balaam. And that night, God came to Balaam and said he should go with them this time around, but however God told Balaam that he should do only what He tells him to

Questions

1. Who exactly is Balaam? The bible never said he was a prophet and some claim he is a seer and a diviner who sees things and God just used him.....Is this true?

2. If Balaam was just a seer.....why did God use him? Balaam conversed with God like he knew him as a personal friend....as if they go way back....Does this mean God can also use Babalawo to help us in times of trouble, since God can speak through them...?

3. Vs 20 says, "That night God came to Balaam and said, ‘Since these men have come to summon you, go with them, but do only what I tell you.’"

While

Vs 21& 22 says, "Balaam got up in the morning, saddled his donkey and went with the Moabite officials. But God was very angry when he went, and the angel of the Lord stood in the road to oppose him......"

Why? Why did that happen? God categorically told Balaam to go with the men the king sent. Balaam was following God's instructions here, so why did God turn against him and almost killed him??

Has your tomorrow been proved scientifically? Yet does that mean it would not happen?
