EducationHow To Use The Four Official IELTS Websites by Campuslink(op): 1:53am On Sep 28, 2018
There are four official IELTS websites. We’ll look at what these sites offer and how to use the four official IELTS websites.

How To Use IELTS.org
IELTS.org has a really great selection of IELTS practice questions. The questions for Reading and Listening are organized by question type. And the Speaking and Writing questions are organized into two full sections. There are separate Reading and Writing question sets for IELTS General Training and IELTS Academic.
These questions are the most valuable part of the IELTS.org website. Unfortunately, they can be a little hard to access if you’re not already familiar with the site. To find the practice questions, go to the IELTS.org homepage. From there, move your mouse over the “About the test” option in the black menu bar that runs just under the IELTS logo at the top of the page. A dropdown menu will appear below the words “About the test.” Click the fourth item in the menu, “Sample test questions.”
This will bring you to the Sample test questions page. Scroll down a little bit, and you’ll see a row of fields with the following labels: “Listening,” “Academic Reading,” “General Training Reading,” “Academic Writing,” “General Training Writing,” and “Speaking.”
The IELTS.org page will default to “Listening,” with red brackets around the “Listening” field. When you land on the page, you’ll see links to IELTS Listening practice questions if you scroll down. You can move the red brackets by clicking on any other field in the row. When you move to a new field, the questions for that field will appear at the bottom of the screen. This navigation is tricky, but it’s very convenient once you learn how to do it. The setup allows you to view all the different IELTS practice questions on a single page.

How to Use IELTS Essentials
The navigation for the IELTS practice on IELTS.org has its advantages. But if you want to access those same IELTS practice questions in a more conventional way, go to IELTS Essentials. On the IELTS Essentials website, you can access all of the test questions by clicking individual links. From the IELTS Essentials homepage, click “practice and prepare.” At the Practice and Prepare page, you’ll see links to different pages for Listening, General Training Reading, Academic Writing, General Training Writing, and Speaking. Again, this is the same IELTS practice you’ll get on IELTS.org. You’re just accessing it in a different way.
IELTS Essentials also has some other unique materials on its Practice and Prepare page. This includes a 40 minute video lecture about preparing for the IELTS, an IELTS Prep PDF, a portal where you can register for free IELTS training events around the world, and a link to the official IELTS IDP Facebook page.

How to use British Council IELTS

The British Council also hosts an official IELTS website too. This website has its own unique set of IELTS practice, largely different from the materials and sample questions you see on IELTS.org or IELTS Essentials. Unfortunately, from the British Council IELTS webpage, there’s no obvious way to access this IELTS practice. The good news is that the British Council’s IELTS practice is very easy to find through Google. Here is a direct link to their full practice tests. The IELTS Reading, IELTS Listening, and IELTS Writing sections are fully unique to the British Council. Only the IELTS Speaking section is taken form another source; it’s the same Speaking section you’ll find on IELTS.org and IELTS Essentials. The British Council has a number of other unique IELTS Practice resources and activities as well.

How to the Use Cambridge IELTS website
The Cambridge IELTS is very different from the other websites. To access the official IELTS materials on Cambridge.org, you need to start at the Cambridge IELTS Products and Resources page. On that page, you can either click the “Products” tab or the “Resources” tab.
This is where the site gets a little frustrating. The Products tab just shows you official Cambridge IELTS books for purchase. The resources tab is where all the free goodies are — IELTS question sets, full IELTS practice, IELTS video presentations, and exam audio. However, all of these free IELTS materials can only be viewed if you have an account with Cambridge.org and are logged in. This content is completely unique to Cambridge.org, and getting a Cambridge.org account is free. So spend a few minutes registering your Cambridge IELTS account and logging in to Cambridge IELTS. It’s well worth the effort.

EducationSteps Involved In IELTS Registration; by Campuslink(op): 9:51pm On Sep 26, 2018
You have been prepping for IELTS for considerable length of time and now, you have been able to hit your target score in your IELTS practice tests. So, what next? Looking at it the other way, you are probably thinking of doing your IELTS registration first owing to the need to meet deadlines or you need to push yourself into practice knowing that your IELTS test date is around the corner. Either way, this article spells out the steps you need to take to start and complete your IELTS registration. Here’s how.

STEP 1: Identify The Correct IELTS Version To Do.

You don’t want to regret doing a wrong IELTS version after taking the exam. So, if you are applying to schools or seeking to become a member of a professional body before you can start practicing your profession anywhere abroad except UK, you should do IELTS Academic. If the school or the professional body is in UK, you should take IELTS Academic for UKVI. If you are applying for a permanent residence visa in Canada, Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere, you will need to do IELTS General Training. For more information on the correct version, read our article Things You Need To Know About IELTS

STEP 2: Get Your International Passport Ready

Your International passport is central to your IELTS registration. You will need to upload scanned copy of your international passport in the course of doing your IELTS registration. Besides, key information on the international passport such as Date of Birth, Passport Expiry Date, Passport Number will be collected in the process of your IELTS registration. Above all, your international passport which you used in the process of IELTS registration must be presented at the exam venue on your IELTS test date. So, if you don’t have your international passport intact, you can’t do your IELTS registration yet.

STEP 3: Check For Available IELTS Test Dates
You should do your IELTS registration two months in advance of your chosen test date because there are a limited number of spaces for IELTS testing sessions. You should use British Council Online Registration System to check the current information about test dates and availability. Ready to check the available test dates and location, see British Council Available IELTS Test Dates https://www.britishcouncil.org.ng/exam/ielts/dates-fees-locations

STEP 4: Begin Your IELTS Registration Via The British Council Online Registration System
Having decided on the most appropriate test date and venue, you may now begin your IELTS registration by filling out the British Council Online Application https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/nigeria and follow through to completion. Ensure that you are able to pay for your IELTS registration via online bank transfer or by raising Bank Draft made payable to The British Council. No doubt, paying via online bank transfer is more convenient provided you can follow instructions carefully.

STEP 5: Pay For Your IELTS Registration
Having completed your application and your reference number is generated, you should now pay for your IELTS registration. If paying via online bank transfer, you must be able to follow instructions carefully. For your online bank transfer, you should pay via First Bank, Zenith Bank or Gtbank using the account numbers listed below, followed by the code for month of the exam and lastly, followed by the last two digits of your international passport number. Here are the account numbers for different test locations:
995202 if you are taking your IELTS in Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta or Calabar.
995302 if you are taking your IELTS in Port Harcourt
995102 if you are taking your IELTS in Abuja, Enugu, Benin or Ilorin.
Below is the table showing the months of the exam and respective codes
Month of Exam April May June July Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec Jan Febr March
Month Code 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12

For example, the full account number for an IELTS exam to be taken in Lagos in August by a candidate whose passport number ends with 17 is 9952020517
Note the following while you are making payment for your IELTS registration via bank transfer:
• Account Name is The British Council and the Beneficiary Bank is Standard Chartered Bank
• Enter in the remark field the full reference number generated in STEP 4 above, followed by the candidate name e.g NG150-125832-2460- Chijioke Chidinma Agu
• Send your evidence of fund transfer (payment summary slip or screenshot), reference number and candidate name to ngielts.payment@britishcouncil.org within 24 hours.
If unable to pay via online bank transfer, you should raise bank draft from any Nigerian bank, made payable to the British Council and submit to any of the British Council offices in Nigeria.

STEP 6: Complete Your IELTS Registration.
If you pay for your IELTS registration via online bank transfer, your registration is deemed complete when you send evidence of payment alongside other information to ngielts.payment@britishcouncil.org and confirmation is sent to your inbox.
However, if you pay by Bank Draft, you will need to send the Bank Draft, your printed application summary and a copy of your international passport via courier or send them in person to the closest British Council office. You will receive a confirmation that your registration and payment have been completed.

What Next After Your IELTS Registration?
You will receive a confirmation email 4-10 days before the test date giving information on the time of your exam and the venue address. Note that the IELTS Reading, Writing and Listening section will be done on the same day. The Speaking section may be done on the same day as well or be slated for another day, up to a week before or after the test date. You will be notified well in advance if the Speaking section will be done on a different day from the main test date.

Da12:
Hi, fellow Nairalanders am in a phase, I need your advice;
If you were given admission (unconditional offer) to do Masters in Health Science in the UK for one year and your enrolment date is 09th September 2016 and your programme start date is 30th September 2016.
Tuition fee is £12000 = 4.8M Naira
Country Bursary is £1000 = 400k
Total Fee due is £11000 = 4.4M Naira
Estimated Living Cost is £1015 per Month = 406k per Month

To accept your unconditional offer, you’re expected to pay a minimum non-refundable deposit of £5500 = 2.2M Naira to reserve a place on the programme.
The Scholarship programme you were looking up to is on hold (till no date given).

All you have is 1.1M Naira. Your expecting 1.1M from your family but it’s on probability. After looking for a Job in Abuja, haven’t found one.
Your major challenge for Visa Requirements is a Bank Statement with minimum balance of 9M Naira. How will you get yourself sorted out with Brexit wahala in UK and Foreign Exchange wahala in Nigeria and age not being on my side!

I will be much grateful if you can advice me or help me out of this phase.
For special advice email: pleasesolution@gmail.com
Apply for a study loan with Prodigy Finance. However, you will need to first check if your school is on their approved list of schools. Goodluck

EducationBetween GMAT And GRE, Which Is Easier To Pass? by Campuslink(op): 10:08pm On Sep 24, 2018
Historically, GMAT is known for admission into MBA and management programs and it is till today. However, GRE, which was normally required for non-management programs, is now accepted by most schools for admission into both management and non-management programs, a situation that creates difficulty in deciding which of the two is easier to score high. Here’s a piece of information to guide you when faced with such a dilemma.

If you are a candidate with rich wealth of vocabulary usage in the right context, GRE is a better option. However, if you are more handy with the rules of grammar than the use of words in appropriate context, you will be better off doing GMAT.

If you are more dexterous in the application of mathematical principles to solving real problems, GMAT is your sure bet. On the other hand, if you are more grounded in general principles of mathematics covering all areas, then you should settle for GRE.

While both GRE and GMAT test your reasoning skills, you should consider doing GMAT if you enjoy and more passionate about constructive arguments. GRE, compared to GMAT, uses less of arguments to test reasoning skills.

If you are easily balked in the face of a large volume of information to read, process and analyse in order to answer questions, perhaps you should look away from GMAT and start considering GRE instead.
In general, both GRE and GMAT adequately test the skills needed to be able to cope with graduate studies. The foregoing is essentially a piece of guidance for whoever is faced with making a decision on which of the duo to do, giving consideration to individual strength and weakness.

Need Help To Ace The GMAT or GRE?

If you like to score in the range of 650-750 in GMAT or 315-335 in GRE, you might need an expert to walk you through the shortcuts. Are you worried that you don’t have adequate quantitative background or that it’s been long you have left maths? Are you confused with Data Sufficiency questions or struggling with the Critical Reasoning questions or the Quantity Comparison questions? We say that you needn’t despair. We will adapt our tutoring to your entry behavior (strength and weakness shown in your diagnostic test), and then scale up from there. You don’t want to miss our quantitative and verbal workouts! All you have to do is book us for private tutoring via https://mcfedututors.com/book-a-tutor/ or simply contact us: https://mcfedututors.com/contact-us-3/

@ Idea, LBS is not a school for a common man or just any body mind you, incase you dont know. My MD recently finished from there, and paid almost or even over a million for just the program that lasted 6months.

@ Tyra, i agree that all schools are good, but you dont except me to do my program with FUTA or any of the schools you mentioned, whereas i reside in Lagos. If you calculate the transportation to and fro those locations, it will be cheaper to do it with Unilag, which is far better than the competitor - LASU.
LBS's MBA costs around N5m, but it's worth it. In fact, no other school in Nigeria is close to being a match owing to the post-graduation value.

However, you will need to take GRE or GMAT as one of the admission requirements. If you need a private tutor for GRE or GMAT, please contact me 08056516226 (Whatsapp) or visit our website- www.mcfedututors.com for more details.

There are tons of IELTS materials you could use to practice, most of which are free. However, you should use more of materials from official sources: British Council, IDP Australia and Cambridge English Assessment. Besides, upon your IELTS registration, British Council gives you the opportunity to prep with its roadtoielts courses

Quite a number of things have changed relating to IELTS. For example, cost of IELTS registration for example is no longer 68k; it's now N75k directly from the British Council. Plus, contrary to the opinion of people that registering online is a waste of time, registering online is the fastest and the easiest. However, you must be able to follow instructions; otherwise it would truly turn a waste of time.
Here's a step-by-step process or doing your IELTS registration yourself, read on https://mcfedututors.com/ielts-registration-steps-involved/
