University workers strike continues as talks between FG, unions collapse

– The ongoing universities strike is bound to continue.

– A meeting between federal government officials and universities’ unions ended in a deadlock

– The leaders of all the university unions in various branches and institutions have been informed on the outcome of the meeting

The effort to end the ongoing strike by unions of Nigerian university workers has reached a deadlock, Premium Times reports.

A meeting between the federal government officials and the university workers on Tuesday, December 19, ended without an agreement between both parties.

Speaking after the meeting, some executives of the unions – Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) said the strike would continue.

There are times where I would want everything to look and be perfect but funnily they turnout opposite, even at that I don’t give up.

I have sometimes practiced all night only to come out in the morning and get disappointed with my results, but one thing I always do is to keep my spirit and my morale up.

Hello everyone here’s a motivational boost for the Week, and your deep desire to succeed has called for this beautiful inspiration from me.

Just this morning I was lost in the beautiful thoughts of how I’ve been able to keep succeeding despite the challenges I face daily, then I remembered when I first learnt how to drive a car.

Ok now just be patient with me and let’s learn together from my experience.

I will never forget the first day I learnt how to move a car from point A to point B. My driving lessons commenced as early as 6am in a primary school arena. I was lectured on the importance of the various components of the car starting from the foot pedals, the dash board, hand brake, the steering, the mirrors, the gears, the ancillary controls (the indicators), etc.



In my mind all I wanted was for the boring lecture to be over so that I could get to the business of the day which was driving. I thought to myself driving is easy, is it not just to press the accelerator and the car will start moving and then I’ll move to to the brake pedal and stop the car at will. Little did I know that there was more to driving than just doing those two things.

On day 2 of my driving lessons I was asked to start the car and move it around the arena and I did as instructed and trust me it was so easy doing that. And because of the confidence I put up my coach asked me to move the car slowly into the road and that was when I knew I hadn’t began driving.

I was scared like a pussy

Quest: The risk of staying all night in a Place I am not familiar with. Walking by home late at night. Oh yeah, artist disturbance while on stage. Imagine you are trying to focus and an artist is beckoning on you to collect his track. This track was announced and asked to submit before the event. As a young girl, while growing up, I did not exactly understand why I had to experience or go through a lot of hurdles. In my little mind then as I thought, everything should just be brought to the table with ease. What I didn’t know was that what I was going through at that time was a process, not until later in life when I began experiencing the excellence of the results birthed from what I had gone through, (#The_Process).

Funny! But the world awaits you

Some years ago while in pharmacy school I wrote a course and failed. Honestly speaking it took me by surprise because I was popular in the pharmacy school plus I was one of the top ranking brilliant student. Did you say Failed? Yes dear I too had a share of my own failure.

I remembered going to the board that day with the full confidence of a believing christian after praying and fasting prior to the set date of the result. I declared so many prophetic words before getting to the board but with all the faith I had I could not stop my racing heart which if checked would probably have been beating at 100 beats/min.

Ladies and Gentle men behold the results were pasted and I saw “FAILED TO REPEAT”, Wow! I exclaimed, I started laughing uncontrollably. The failure that year in the department was massive so people flocked the board.

When a friend saw me laughing he smiled and asked; You made it through right? He did not stop there, he went further to say “I know your type, una no dey carry last”. That was when I realized that I had not only failed myself but the expectations of everyone.

I started shedding tears, I felt a deep sharp pain in my heart that would not go away, I could not control the tears, I just held him tight and wept.
