quitereal6: @ capeverde , are there toilets in the rooms? if no, which toilets would the occupants of the rooms use? and please, how can I contact you via whatsapp? I have some questions to ask you sir. No toilet yet,but it will be built along side the suck away pit, since there is sand, and I pay my engineer daily for now,he will do it along side the pit. Also I believe 4 bags will do the work. I will carry everyone along. |

I will be needing 4bags of cement,19k balance for the door,6k to pay the engineer workmanship for a two plastering day work ,then painting,to conclude the house project. It wasn't an easy task but it was a task that worth my effort, and I hope to get more opportunity to do bigger projects than this anytime soon. |

Building a house is not easy, but is the best investment and commitment that comes with no regret but joy as it secures your money for you and sometimes generation unborn at your own will. I have just door, painting, and few plastering work left in this journey. But hopefully if am able to raise another 300k in the remaining part of this year I will be starting a four room apartment towards the end of the year. But I will update the house till the end or till the house is been occupied. Also for those hoping to start their own building you can come over to see mine and I can guide you through Your journey, for free. |

bizzibodi: Well done!I see a fence u didn't tell us d cost, what is d advantage of solid block s over hollow, same cost?cost of labor is cheap there o!one plot 100 by 100?I intend 2 build 3 bedrooms may b i shld complete d sitting room 1st pack in then gradually complete d rest. It was my neighbor that did fencing which is beneficial to me on that side, hopefully my brother behind might also fence which means I will be left alone with oneside to fence in future. In my end here hollow block is use by few to build upstairs,I held it makes house cool during heat or sunny period nothing so special about it, because they both use the same quantities of sand cement. As to build a 3 bedroom apartment halfway,I prefer you building a 2 or 1 bedroom apartment that you can complete in a short time, and you will be glad as to what you are spending your money. |

Mznaett: Not only the room size. But also the interior walls, windows, doors, hall ways etc. From here, one would be able to specify their arrangements. The door is a block, dpc 3 coaches, the room is 12*12 but if you around and chance, you can come and see it your self. |

Gosj01: Great job @op, I like how you record and account for spent expenditures.
How did you deal with Land grabbers (we call them Ọmọ onílé here) from the starting to the roofing of both houses?
You didn't mention the documents given to you at the point of payment for the land.
I guess you are your own bricklayer which makes the spending much lower but do you have any other casual people working with you and how do you pay them? Actually we don't land grabber here, although I paid 10k at the initial start of the first building, that covers any building I partake in my land. I did my own agreement documentation by a reputable lawyer and surveyor, since the seller got the land by inheritance like a share property,I make sure all the elders of the family partake in the process. Also there is just one engineer and we did the service ourselves. |
