To everyone who has followed me last year in my journey,to tell you the truth am so happy that I was able achieve being a landlord last year also with the high rise in the cost of cement I know it won't be easy the present time,
I want to try to keep this thread alive because am already saving up for my next building project.

So I have this American patient who I recently came across. He's a fat dude who is like in his late 40s but has a very jolly and likeable character. I introduced myself and we got talking afterwards.

After a while of chitchat, he asked me where I was from. I told him to take a guess and he said said, you sound like you're Nigerian. I told him (regrettably) that I was Nigerian. He started smiling and told me that he had a Nigerian girlfriend and that we both had similar accents.

He then started telling me recent occurrences that had befallen his girlfriend in Nigeria. He said the lastest story was that she was in Abuja and as she was on her way to the airport in a taxi, the taxi had an accident and she was seriously injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. He said that the hospital demanded money before treatment started and he had to hustle about $4000 and send to her in order for treatment to start.

He said that after a week of her being in the hospital, they wanted to discharge her despite her still being in pain. Because she had exhausted all the $4000 on treatment, he said the hospital had threatened to discharge her on the streets and he was trying to borrow more money to see if he could send it to her so they could continue with her treatments.

He furthermore told me that the girlfriend said that she was a Nigerian American citizen who was currently stuck in Nigeria due to her passport having expired and also due to Covid lockdown at airports in Nigeria. He said she had asked him for $300 to renew her US passport from American embassy in Nigeria.

Another thing that he told me was that just before covid struck, there was a similar pandemic which happened in Nigeria early this year and that his girlfriend had contracted the disease and he had to send her $2000 for treatment. Right now he said he's broke but is waiting for like $2000 disability check from the US government next week which he will send to her as soon as the money clears.

As he was telling me this tale, I was so angry with Nigerians and how they take advantage of people in love to scam them. I wanted to swear for the scammers


I'm at a dilemma here. Do I tell him that he's being scammed by Nigerians or do I continue to be professional and just ignore it. Because I don't want him to think I'm involved with it because these oyinbo people can turn everything on your head and accuse you that is your people in conjunction with you that are scamming him. They are that crazy.

The good part of me wants to help him but I'm hesitant that it may turn out bad for me. Please matured responses.

Please be professional in this case it won't make you a sinner if you just ignores his girlfriend gist.
If he asks you questions be formal and give him sincere anwser.
Like the outbreak before the pandemic,say you didn't hear of such.with all your sincere anwser, he will be getting the signal.
The only way you can feel guilty is when he asks you if he's been scammed and you hid it knowing fully well the truth.
Just be formal,the patient has not asked yet neither as he seek for the truth,he is in illusions and you planning to cut it off, just be ready for the consequences.

Your mom is still young,for crying out loud. Truth be told,she will be damn lonely,may be the way your girl sounded it to your ears was kind of shocking,this are sensitive matters that can be discussed face to face and reasonable.
If you want your mom to live long for you encourage her to follow her heart and do what will make her happy,am telling you she just might be scared of hurting her only child feelings.
Myself am an only child too and lost dad early too, though my mom and yours are the same age bracket but mine passed on early in my mum's life,she was about 34, but I didn't want to be selfish I gave her the love and space.
Right now she is happy and even look younger with peace of mind with a gentleman namesake with my own dad and same age group too, very handsome like my dad.
Mark you she was already a grand mom at the time of the union,it doesn't make her cheap or irresponsible.
Calm down and search the deepest part of her heart show her it won't hurt if she moves on because sooner you are having your own family. The Bible clearly states that death is the only thing that can keep couples apart,that woman or man should not be under bond, she is free.
There is no marriage in the afterlife, your father won't marry her again in the afterlife.
Remember it is only our body that ages with time,our heart and mind doesn't.my two scent.

A Pastor knows that the development of his local assembly rests on God and women. Women's influence on church growth is in no doubt.

Women are gifted with the subtle ability to multiply a congregation by word of mouth especially. Hence, a serious Pastor must take women's department seriously.

However, in the attempt to cater for them, he may be misinterpreted, misconstrued and misrepresented. Which raises the critical question.

How can a Pastor draw the line between genuine care for his female members and flirting with them?

He should be a repented and recreated in spirit and God will give him wisdom through the spirit,it is not something we say and learn,is the work of the holy Spirit.

I actually don't have any problem with the church, pastor or any member.
It's just that my heart is no longer in the church, as in, I am just forcing myself to attend it's Sunday services and because of the fact that my heart is not there, I don't enjoy the services unlike before.

Few tips on why I lost interest:
1. The church is too close to my house
2. The environment is quite not presentable
3. It's more of a family church,
4. The way his son( the junior pastor runs the church as if it's his personal business, too authoritative).
Honestly, I totally fell out of love with the church and I wish to change.
So what's the best way to do that without hurting or causing problems??

My grandma become a grand mom at 36,my mum became a grand mom to my first child at 36 too,I am 31 and my daughter is 15 years, am scared of being a grand mom at this age because am still at my child bearing age.

The disposal pit

All three rooms has been rented out we started digging disposal pit and planning to set it this week.
Money gotten from the tenant is use to support this project.
We bought 10bags of cement and a trip of sand .
We paid 11k to dig a 10feat suck away pit

You are very smart, I am impressed. Can u guess how much it will cost to roof a twin two bedroom flat? Secondly, a house that has been on lintel level for 12 years, is the blocks still reliable? Pls reply

Firstly I can manage 350k for roofing, although not a flamboyant roofing but a neat and presentable one.
Secondly on my side I think the blocks are not reliable my reason is that it has been exposed to our harsh weather for too long (rain and sun). And if properly manage by an experience engineer things might go wrong eventually later( like crack walls or tears at the wall.
Also the blocks use for completing the work and the weight of the roof can collapse the building in the near future.

I spent #17600 for 8 door frames
I started here and right here at this present time.

Approximately 12bags of cement used for the plastering work ,I bought mud or plastering sand from neighbor 5k.
So far I have paid the engineer 12k to plaster and also dress both windows and doors frames and the work has pass half stage.picture is along the test.
