Well, I certainly do not agree that MLM's are bad. I have been a member of some MLMs like GNLD, Forever Living Product and Clubfreedom. I can rightly say that my experince has been good some of us have been able to establish our dream businesses from the returns we get in this MLMs and others have bought cars and houses according to their heart's desires. You need to test the waters before complaining. Even MLMs are not for lazy and uninspired people. If you need information on Financial Education and legitimate means of making money for 2008. Well, that was not in Katsina State and it was not even in Nigeria at all. If it was we would have heard it all over the world. In every news medium. I am surprised at how people can't rush to ascribe some things to us. Why don't you talk about the one Obasanjo did? And please whoever is being disgraced like that cannot have his Penis looking big. Why are we talking about his thing? Let's talk about the grave issue. Is this not what is common in Lagos? Go to any Owanmbe party or to all the Guest houses and Hotels in Lagos and see the way married men bring other people's wives and daughters to have fun. Abeg make we hear word! |
Hey, Ina gaisuwa fa! yaya muke a nan. It's great getting all of us that are friends of the north and northerners. I sensed a lot of hatred of northerners on a thread called"Why do northern muslims marry their 1st cousins?." I was able to research and bring out facts from the US, UK, and the Bible that it is not peculiar to muslims alone. but some people are hell bent on "player hating" and playing the hate game. I believe in one Nigeria where we all respect each others' religion, beliefs and way of life. just because my way, language, religion is different doesn't make me bad. If you agree please respond to the thread under "GENERAL DISCUSSION"/CULTURE. Let's set things straight. We don't need tribalists or fanatics. Allah ya ba musa'a Sunana Ahmed Magem, Kaltungo, Gombe State chilling in Lagos. |
Hello, I am Ahmed. My Dad is from Gombe State Mum is both Yoruba & Arab. I represent Kaltungo in Gombe. I am proudly Nigerian. Nairalanders. Wuz up?! |
It's unfortunate, the thread was posted on the wrong forum. I thought some webmasters like me will like to share ideas just like I saw the Indian community of webmasters on "Orkut" do. that makes them thick.

PROUDLY NIGERIAN! I have been contemplating on this topic and bidding my time to write or discuss about it. Here is something to ponder about.
[li]What makes you a Nigerian?[/li] [li]What tribe do you belong to?[/li] [li]What religion or faith do you practice?[/li] [li]What makes you proud of being Nigerian?[/li] [li]What have you done to make Nigeria proud?[/li] [li]What have you done that you are not proud of?[/li] [li]What is your dream about the ideal Nigeria?[/li]
I was born in Lagos. I am from Kaltungo, Gombe State. You would rightly say, I am Hausa/Fulani. Moreso, rightly, Fulani. I am a Nigerian because I was born in Nigeria and to a father who comes from the north and a mother whose father is Non-Nigerian and a Yoruba mother. (Talk about mixed grill hun?). I am educated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, BTech and an Associate Degree not to mention several professional certificates in IT. I am proud of Nigeria because there is "no place like Niaja." If I don't love my country who will? The American, Japanese, Israeli or Ghanaian? Oh, forget the will never do that. I belong to a country that is the headquarters of the Black Race. The Power House of Africa. We are intelligent, strong, proud, full of life, cultural and moral. I have experienced first hand humiliation at foreign borders and airports just because " I am Nigerian." I have been labeled a thief, a drug pusher, a corrupt man and an untrustworthy fellow online and offline. I have been denied access to so many sites all over the world. Although, I am not very happy with the treatments I get. I know I don't deserve to be treated that way. Now, I am racially abused by foreigners every where I go in Europe, US and Asia. Why is this happening. Another African is better respected than a Nigerian. To make matters worse. In Nigeria tribalism is the other of the day. You will be surprised to see Yoruba elders shamelessly discussing tribalism and OPC instead of Nationalism. You will see Ibo leaders arrogantly and stupidly discussing money and BIAFRA (an arrogant child of Ojukwu that pitted Nigerians against Nigerians). You will see some Hausa leaders ignorantly and foolishly discussing religious intolerance. You will see killings everywhere from Kano to Lagos, Yenagoa, Port-harcourt to Zaki Biam, Jos to Ibadan. You will see religious leaders shamelessly pitting us against each other. Christians supporting Israel ( a country that does not even respect Christ and Christians). Muslims supporting Arabs ( people who always feel a black man is a slave). Why are we hated? We are actually the architects of our own misfortunes. Every day, Over one million 419 e-mails are sent out of Nigeria and by Nigerians in the diaspora. Everyday atleast 200 foreigners are duped or defrauded by Nigerians and their accomplices. Every day Nigerians in the US and Europe steal credit cards and send to Nigeria. Everyday, cars are stolen and shipped to Nigeria. The streets of Europe are littered Nigerian prostitutes and drug dealers. Every day on CNN, CNBC, BBC, SKY News and other cable networks you will hear about Nigerian leaders enmeshed in cases of stealing and corruption and fraud. Haba! Nigerians. All this have gone to give us enemies and so the name of the country is bastardised we have made ourselves worthless. But the truth is, compared to the US the rate of fraud in Nigeria is 2% to 98%. All the viruses that we know are used to steal money and IDs all are from the West. The US Government is the greatest thief and 419 on earth. See what is happening in the Middle East. You can be a real Nigerian by doing the following: - Not doing online fraud - Not being a tribalist - Not being a religious fanatic or bigot - By having the interest of Nigeria first b4 self - By dealing with each other according to the content of our chracter rather than tribal discrimination - Not stealing - By working to earn legitimate money - By not recognising or respecting fraudsters Let us all promote the ideal and good virtues of a true Nigeria. Let us all be PROUDLY NIGERIANS. Let us do what we can do even in our own little steps to repair our badly damaged image. We are the hope of Africa, the light, the leader, the HEART OF AFRICA. There are hundreds of good Nigerian earning legitimate income abroad. These are found in different fields, from Medicine, to Science, to Sports, to Literature, to the Academia, to business, politics, military, police and international diplomacy. I respect every Nigerian irrespective of your tribe, educatinal level, religion or faith. We are all one. Well, this is kind of odd to be talking about your or our Nigerian Passport. Since you are seeking advise on what to do with it, well, here is mine. I have had the privilidge or lack of it to travel to so many countries with my Nigerian Pali. You bet my experiences at some airports are nothing to be proud of considering the stigma asociated with Nigeria as a 419 or fraudsters and corrupt country. There is a lot of distrust of Nigerians globally. Our fellow Nigerians to are not helping matters. As you are bound to find a Nigerian anywhere there is any vice. What about the million of scam mail originating from Nigeria and Nigerians in the diaspora. It is very shameful. Hence we were subjected to inhumane treatments by immigration officials at almost every airport. Nevertheless, I have always carried myself as a proud and uncorrupt Nigerian. I am PROUDLY NIGERIAN. A million US Visa Lotteries, Green cards and US Passport will never change that. Being issued a US passport does not make you equal to a white man. If you want to join the US Army or Marines to fight the white man's war of oppression, neo-colonialism and intimidation please do go ahead. As for your Nigerian Passport, BURN IT! Let's know you have nothing to do with Nigeria or Nigerians. I hope you find the Uhuru you have been looking for all your time in the US. At a time when African Americans are looking towards Africa for an identity, you are throwing yours away. My friends and family are mostly US citizens. Atleast my sister, her husband, children, my cousins. I almost joined the US Navy. I even have friends from my secondary school who are in the US Navy and Marines. I lost 2 friends I knew in Ajegunle who travelled to the US and joined the Marines withing 1 year. They died fighting for the Bush's led corrupt & evil Government. If you have the US Passport. That is not a reason to want to forget Naija. I am a Hausa guy and I know that no matter where I go Naija to the bone will I remain even though I hold a US Passport. I speak Hausa, eat Hausa food, dress like a typical Hausa man and speak like a Nigerian without the US accent. I AM PROUD TO BE NIGERIAN. Even if the situation is baad I will still remain patriotic. Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Helon Habila, Hakeem, Samuel Peter, and others hold dual passports and are all PROUDLY NIGERIAN. They can't be anything else. It is good to be proud of US. Atleast I am. But Naija is the most paramount to me. I can't be intimidated by the lifestyle, music, lies, media, people, religion, and government of the 70 percent White US population to denounce my Nigerianness. I advise you maintain dual Citizenship. Mind you right now in the US you can never be a first class citizen. I guess you know that. and you can't even be second class. You are third class. Immigrant. Like the Yoruba saying goes, "Ajo ole da bi ile". No place like home. Take a cue from the thousands of Nigerians in possession of the US passport but still remain true to the African spirit. To other Nigerians reading keep being Black, Keep being Nigerian. Naija for life. I am Ahmed from Gombe State. ahmed@hillcrestng.com 08033962278 |
Why is everyone here discussing foreign accents? We are Nigerians and this site should be for Nigerians. Lets discuss Nigerian. And not try to pretend. I love Everthing Nigerian we've all got accents irrespective of where we come from. It shows the dominant tones. Edo, Hausa, Fulani, Yourba with all the variants, Igbo, Calabar, Waffi Ijaw, Ilaje, Tiv, Birom, Urhobo and Igala. Thats food for discussion. |
