I can attest to this. Even though we know we are western Apoi in Ondo state, some of us can even trace our lineage back to the Mahin Kingdom. We’ve been yorubanized, we bear yoruba names, mixed with yoruba people, speak yoruba language, but we have our own distinct type of food and style of dressing, other than that, we identify as yoruba in the grand scheme of things.
