saintjoel: After the accusations and counter accusations,we at Jelad ventures will to thank everyone who has been following up since yesterday.

I will like to state that I never told Carshopper that he'll not get a refund but I stood my foot down that the only basis of paying back was only if I was sure that there was no hanky panky cos there was a lot of claims and counter claims but at the end,I've decided to pay back and the process of refunding the money will be presented to him by next week,we're sure issues will be settled amicably between us.

About not picking up calls while the issue was still at it's boiling point,I will like to state that it was Odi's fault cos the moment he went offline,I was also at loose ends and I didn't just know what to do or tell Carshopper but at the end of it all,regardless of what has happened,regardless of who cleared the jeep,it's with the owner and he'll also get his money through Carshopper.

What happened between jelad ventures,Odi and pinnacle is a normal thing amongst agents,we tend to transfer jobs amongst ourselves if the
workload is much but Odi betrayed our trust in him by not coming out at the right time when things went rough,evidence shows that it got to a time that he disappeared from apapa,refused to pick my calls etc but he later decided to cut me off from the business and negotiated new terms with the importer and Carshopper while he made me believe all was well.

I seriously thank God and nairalanders because you've all made Carshopper know that I don't run a scamming business because if that was the case,I know many people will have come up to state we've been scamming them but as things are,it shows we at jelad ventures have been able to keep to our words and have tried also tried to run a clean business so far.At no time have we ever planned to scam a client and we'll never do so as long as we run business in apapa,seme and idiroko.

I've actually done business with Luis Edet of carshoppers and I'm so surprised that things turned out this way and it seems he is bent on destroying everything JELAD ventures stands for.

He actually gave me a vehicle to clear at tincan and I gave him q quote of 1.750m which he agreed to and we met at tincan,he gave me the bill of lading and also paid the sum of 1.5m naira into my account with the understanding that the balance when the job was completed.

If you are so conversant with operations of clearing agents,you'll discover that we operate a sort of brotherhood,which means that if you've much workload,you can negotiate with another agent who has the capability of clearing vehicles on your behalf and you negotiate.I transferred to the job to Mr ifezue ifeadigo,popularly called Odi by fellow agents and we agreed on 1.5m and he collected 1.250m from me.

The funniest part is this,Luis Edet actually knew that job was shortpayment,which means that we weren't going to pay the real duty stipulated by FG but to my surprise things didn't go as planned.When the jeep was supposed to come out,Odi came up with stories of how the exit note was been delayed and I had to take Luis Edet to mile2 to inspect the jeep at the customs' vehicle seat,where he also discovered that the jeep was still intact and we were on the job,it was even right there that he claimed he wasn't worried about the lateness cos he knew the dangers behind shortpayment,it was even there and on whatsapp that he claimed oliverjaid ( a known clearing agent on nairaland too) had three of his cars stuck at the port cos of shortpayment and he had to beat him up.The funniest part is that it's the same oliverjaid he's now touting around on nairaland as q trusted agent.

Before I knew what was happening,Odi disappeared into thin air after our meeting at mile 2 ptml command and all efforts by my people and I to fish him.out proved abortive cos at that time,the jeep was already stuck cos of shortpayment.I even had to resort to threats with the hope that he'll show up and thank God that Luis Edet himself has shown proof in his posts that I was also at loose ends but I had that belief that the jeep will definitely come out but it will take time.

It got to a time that I had to give Luis and his brother Odi's mobile number with the hope that he will show up if te owners start talking to him and that was when the lies started flowing in.One evening,Luis Edet called me and a fellow agent called Sesan,he claimed he has investigated and he discovered we didn't pay anything to the bank as bank charges but we later discovered that it was all lies cos when we started to question him and also prove to him with facts,we discovered he knew nothing about the bank payment.

He later called again to tell us that the agency we used which is pinacle had placed an alert on us because we made declarations to NCS with fake papers and that we were wanted by the police,the funniest part was that at the end of the day,we also discovered that it was also a lie aimed at bringing us to disrepute and we seriously lashed him for the lies he told us.

While all this was going on,I discovered that Odi had started talking with Luis Edet,his brother and even the importer in America while I was left in the dark and he kept assuring them that he'll bring their jeep out,he even told them that I gave him 1.250m naira.Please note that while this discussion was going on between them,Odi had stopped picking my calls and was also avoiding me anytime I went to tincan,all the talking he wa doing was with Luis Edet an others.

Again to my surprise,I called Odi with a line he didn't know and he picked with q promise that he will bring the jeep out the next day which was a Saturday and in the evening when I called him,he refused to pick up until Sunday when Luis sent a message on whatsapp to tell me that Odi had arranged with them to refund the money I paid him and I called Odi,who claimed he didn't arrange for a refund but he promised that he was going to bring the jeep out on Tuesday.When I called Luis to tell him what Odi told me,he told me that the owner came down from Abuja to personally handover the job to the comptroller general of customs and immediately he made that statement,I sensed that there was more to this refund story and started raising questions that how could could a comptroller takeover a job when even a fresh custom cadet just out of training college knows that it's strictly stated in the constitution that ANCLA has the sole right to process duty payment,I even told him that if the comptroller dares to takeover the job,I'll report him to ANCLA and also make sure that I sue him but to my surprise,luis Edet kept insisting that the owner had handed over to the CG.

A day later,Odi called to tell me that he was ready to move the jeep but when he called Luis Edet to arrange where they'll meet,Luis told him not to go near the jeep cos he had already told the police not to allow us move near it and I wondered why someone who had waited for days will now decide to disrupt everything at the last minute but I kept my peace.A day or two after the incident,Odi called me to let me know that he was going to refund the money and I told him in plain terms that I was the one who offered him the job and if he wants to agree to any terms,it must be with me and even called Luis to let him know that at no time did I agree to a refund cos the agreement was done behind my back and if Odi was going to refund a dime,it was going to be paid into my account and I will forward it to them since they already told me the agency and the papers we used were fake cos I didn't want a situation where someone will later turn around to tell me that he didn't get the money or the jeep was stolen.I also told Odi that I knew the trick they'll use was that they'll move a lot of money around and claim it was Odi that paid back,I even told him in specific terms that if he collected money from anyone and he made it seem as if he was paying back to Luis Edet,God will punish him.

Before I knew it,Luis Edet started calling to tell me that threatened Odi and that he wanted the money paid directly into his account and I can remember I told him that if the money was paid to him directly,he shouldn't expect a refund from me since I didn't go into that agreement with him.I made arrangements with Odi but to my dismay,when I got tincan to collect the money and papers from him,he disappeared and switched off his phone till around one when he later told me he had paid 500k into Luis's account and I kept asking him and Luis why they were all keeping me in the dark,the story I heard was so funny.

According to Luis Edet,he claimed he knew Odi's family and church pastor,a man I just introduced to him and that I shouldn't bother my head with Odi,that all they needed was the 250k with me.He also claimed that I could disappear with the money and I reminded him of the first job he gave me,how he paid a million plus into my account,even without meeting me before,that if he could pay at that time,why was he scared of Odi paying into my account but all they kept insisting on was that I shouldn't bother myself,I called Odi to ask him how Luis managed to know his family and church,all he could tell me was gibberish and immediately I knew something was fishy.

To cut the long story short,the same papers Luis Edet claimed to be fake where later used by the same agency he claimed to be fake was used to clear the jeep and I started listening to another story concocted from the pits of hell.

Initially Luis Edet claimed that Odi had paid all the money he had with him,only for him to call me two days ago that Odi still owes them 150k,when I called Odi for clarification,he stated he didn't owe them a dime but immediately I told him that Luis claimed he owed 150k,he changed his story again and told me that he actually paid 30k last week and he still owing 120k and I was dumbfounded cos I could see clearly that I was been taken for a fool.

When I called Luis to ask him who cleared the jeep,he told me that he didn't know that immediately he paid the owner back,the job was given to another agency,when I called Odi for clarification,I was told that it was pinacle,the same agency luis claimed was fake that later cleared the jeep with the alleged fake papers and it was even done by one of Odi's boys.

In all of Luis's statement,he negated to tell him that despite all the lies,I promised to pay immediately a property I put up for sale was sold but in his calculated attempt to launch a smear campaign against me,he rushed to post the transactions of a Lagos cleared vehicle in a thread meant for cars bought from.cotonou.All he was doing was a form of blackmail calculated at bringing down my company.

The following are questions i've kept asking him and he has refused to answer.

Why did he lie that the job was handed over to the CG of customs only to change his story again last week.He later claimed that the owner only called the CG and ordered him to stop us from.bringing out the jeep and the jeep was giving to another agency not knowing that I had proof that the job was done by the same.agency he claimed was fake,using the same papers they also claimed were fake.

I told you the owner of the ride a DG (his son bought him the ride as a gift) petitioned the CG and the CG is already in the matter and the ride can't be brought out except d DG agrees ( of which his son told me his father is already feed up wit your clearing process)


2. Why did he stop Odi from paying the refund into my account,when he had earlier paid over two million plus into my account and I never disappeared with a dime.There was no communication gap between us like they'll make you believe,all the just wanted was my 250k.

I told Odi not to pay to you because you weren't forthcoming on all of us meeting up at the bank to effect a settlement n refund, You were not forthcoming in us meeting and discussing out modalities of refund. You were not picking my calls. Why will i want your 250k? you did a venza job for me previously n though it was a bit messy, you apologized n i gave you this second job. If you DELIVERED on your job, why will any1 want to take your profit away? I have uploaded and sent you proof of all payments made by Odi...

Because of this, i will pull up my acct transactions to show you that i dont need to lie to you

Why did they stop the owner from arresting us cos according to him and his brother,they claimed they stopped the police from arresting us and I'll like to tell everyone that the owner wasn't told they were paying for shortpayment,he mustve gullibly paid more than what Luis Edet claimed to have paid,that was why I've not been allowed to come in contact with the owner while Odi has direct access to him.Carshopper like some pre-order agency will allow you risk your money to help you bring your car into Nigeria and charge you exorbitantly for duty,then look for agents who will give them low rates and when things go wrong,they hang everything on the agent's neck like he has just done to me,I've witness who will testify that only Luis Edet has almost six agents at the port and he goes around to seek for lower prices which means he does a lot of shortpayment,which puts the vehicles and owners at risk.

I am not destroying your reputation, remember your txt your sent to me that i will wait in vain to get the 250k? remember you are the one that said "open it all and let people judge"

How come the account alert Luis Edet sent to me shows that he had 4,318:42 in his account at 11:20am and by 3:48pm,it shows 213,204:53,where did the initial 500,000:00 travel to.They may come up to tell you that it was sent to the owner and they'll want you to believe that in the era of fake papers and Photoshop.

Remember i sent you the payment slip and every transact details which you said you will verify and if found genuine, you will initiate the refund of 250k, but you never verified.

I can show you proof of all money Odi paid back, i am not scared to do that(you should know by now) .... thats why i snap the pics of our chats directly off my Blackberry so you wouldn't say photoshopping



5.He's always bragging that he has friends in high places and that he knows what's in my account cos when I told him that customers had almost ruined.my.business with all sort of tricks just because I've been plain with them,he said it was a lie,so I challenge him to please show my account details and also post same online.

I can't reveal such, bcus it will be against the law ..... but bragging about people in high ....hmmm


I will categorically tell nairalanders that this smear campaign is a calculated bid to force me pay back the 250k,someone somewhere believes that I took them for fools and made money from them without sweating and they're bent on recovering the money through any means at their disposal but they refused to tell people that even though I saw through their lies,I've put my property up for sale just recover funds.But they have failed because I intentionally left the thread open for days and no nairalander has come online to actually say I scammed them and it shows the sort of business I operate cos I don't understand how someone will take an issue about clearing cars through tincan and post on a cotonou thread just because he believes that'll force me into rushing to pay what I don't owe him.

I have shown you proof that Odi didn't clear the vehicle and Odi refunded money to me...I will still show you proof of what Odi is owing.

Luis Edet is privy to the information that I also have people.that are owing,he knows about the man who owes me 200k in Abuja and also customers who owe large amounts.

All they've tried to do is use my post about cotonou cars to blackmail me because they know thats forms a chunk of my business but i've told them that they aren't my God,95% of nairalanders are honest people who will be able to put two and two together to get the fact.

I also have proof of our discussion and mobile numbers of people that are ready testify that I wasn't at fault and I still don't understand why he keeps saying I wasnt going to pay,when I've promised that he will get his money soon.
