You're right sir, now you're talking.
GIGM hasn't stopped ooo, if you have an insider you can still enroll, though not 350 again.
That company is going south-side gradually, that boy ventured into the wrong side of politics with huge amount he borrowed from bank, his sponsored candidate failed the election.

That boy changed the face of transportation with technological driven system ...

Yes every business man will venture into politics at a point.. but give it to him, he drove solutions people never thought would work...

Mr SWAT/SARS ANALYSIS you just complicate yourself.

SO if money is not ur major concern, why go into the business? So you were analyzing SWAT to go loose money.

From my own experience I agree with Carshopper if u don't have park forget, you will never succeed, maybe with HP u will survive a little.

I have 2 Sienna then, people who sees it when they come back from travel and bring me palm wine then will say, oboy you're doing well, not knowing i was loosing, while drivers are making cool money.

In business experience is the key to success.

We finally agree on something grin cheesy

[1] I strongly disagree with you on this, that isn't true. Though I don't know the companies you're referring to.

[2] You don't have to own a terminal before you can succeed in interstate transportation business sir. To be sincere, opening a terminal as a new transport company is a grave mistake. You have to start under another umbrella organization, you learn from them before. Yes, you'll lose money because they'll charge you for loading in their facilities in addition to their passengers. By the way, what kinda terminal did you register your vehicles with? Which transport company? If it was the general motor park that's a mistake, the remaining ones will soon vanish.

[3] From your analysis, your major concern is MONEY, with such mindset sir, failure is highly assured. Starting a transportation business is like a new born baby, it takes time to grow. You have to endure and nurture it. You'll loose a lot in the process, it's not a business for the feeble minded.

The operation cost of a Toyota Sienna far outweighs that of a Toyota haice bus, [1:2 ratio] yet bus carries more passengers and burn less fuel, why do we still have Sienna's on the road?

I'm not writing some kinda theory, I'm writing out of a successful experience. As a matter of fact, in few months of operations I'm seeing green light already. A good business model will give you good returns. When I was about starting, due to the high cost of haice, I had series of recommendations from people, some recommended Sienna, some Odyssey while some suggested Hyundai H1, I opened a thread and people advised me on what to do. I add that to my research and experience, I settled with Sienna and H1 [they serve different purposes]. The company I registered my vehicles required a comprehensive insurance, zenith gave me a good option with tracker inclusive, in addition to the already installed tracker by the transport company.

One more thing, the more technology you invest in your transportation business, the more crime you curtail. You don't need to follow up a driver to know if he has load or not. The cars are supervised by the transport company you register them with. Then with tracker in that car you will know whenever the driver is on a trip. You can even call the tracker and it will pick the call then you listen to their conversations in/around the vehicle. Many things are lacking in your write up sir.

In addition, what kinda drivers did you hand over you hard earned money (vehicles) to? How educated are they?

Rendering SWOT irrelevant is a sign of failure, that's the greatest ingredient of any business plan/model.

grin grin grin ... This statement says it all... cheesy cheesy cheesy.... If you put ur vehicle under an umbrella company, you should know what they charge .... One seat goes to the park ...you pay management a "starting fee: compromises cartoon(s) of beer, malt and agreed sum" .... And u free to load from their park after registration.

Major concern is always ROI ...that is what determines your fail or success rate... Abi u wan put money inside business well grin

GodisGood previously was welcoming partners, drop sienna from 2011-2012 with them and get 350k monthly returns.... They stopped that and changed it brand new Hiace (for a reason)

Having a terminal boosts ur control over wear n tear on the vehicles. ...

I don't strongly disagree with you... I just adviced on one key to successful interstate transport business, follow your money investment from start to finish ... cool

You don't call that experience sir, that's failure, as a result of inability to plan ahead.
Lots of Nigerians go into business just because they hear its profitable, without proper feasibility study. They are carried by the returns.

- If Sienna isn't profitable why do we still have thousands out there on the road?
- Why did I conduct the research?
I have many questions for you to proof your claims, but it's needless.

Just like the ehauling business, lots of fleet companies are off the radar, but that same business, there is someone that's making in it with many cars because he has deep understanding of the business.

Until you have a unique SWOT analysis, don't venture into that business.

The interstate route is coupled with a lot of hidden potholes, number one pothole is how do you control your income flow via ticketing ...

Having invested largely in the transport sector (intra and inter state routes) i can tell you most interstate transport especially those that make use of Toyota Sienna are just surviving by the thread... Yes u see a lot of sienna at jibowu, but it's never by the numbers ..till you venture into it you will never understand the flow process.

If you can't control your ticketing start to finish points don't bother venturing into interstate route...it's not E-hailing grin

I presently have 3 Toyota Sienna that run east and western state routes.... 2 are on hire purchase after 7months of rental ...the 3rd is on weekly rental undergoing a testing which will say if I should put more buses ...

The key to success for any interstate transport system is FIRST having your own park where you control income from ticketing. At point of loading, the driver is given only money that will start and finish his journey (fuelling)... If you believe you can sit at home and give one driver a sienna bus to be driving and paying weekly delivery, your own is GOBE ooo .. you will hear stories like 'Oga, many buses dey ground, we never load since 2days' or if you think by giving buses on delivery agreement with transport company owners sorry is your own 'they first load their own buses before urs'

Another Key to success is understanding that the longest routes isn't always the money spinner... Lagos to Benin is a shorter route that delivers on the same as Lagos to Control - portharcourt.

I can go on and on ... But do your swot analysis hundred times... The transport system in Nigeria will change the analysis narrative by the time you venture into it...

If you don't own a car park around jibowu, iyana ipaja, ojota, ajah, ojulegba etc.. please don't throw money into interstate grin

Till you are able to sit at each major car parks from 5am till 9am and monitor flow of passenger and money ...then bring your swot analysis...

You shouldn't venture into what you have no knowledge off, you were carried by the remittance.
Every business has its own "keys to success". You must look for it if you want to succeed in that biz.

Transportation is very lucrative, but you must choose your route wisely. Some intestate road are best driven with molue, definitely your baby Sienna will collapse.

According to personal research, Jibowo - PH is one of the best route for Sienna.

Which route were you?

The "keys to success" isn't the route you put ur sienna to work ... This is from experience not research

Hey guys, so I have been keeping up with this thread for a while and I will be in Lagos from the 21st of December to January 9. What I am looking for is a reliable driver who currently does uber/bolt and is willing to take me around Lagos not going past Ikoyi Or Lekki and be on call 24/7. You will not be with me every day as I will not have an outing everyday. I am a young woman from the U.K residing in Ogudu phase 2. even better if you reside on the mainland and close to ogudu. I will pay for refueling of the car and I am looking to pay 150,000k for the 3 weeks guaranteed, 50 k a week. you will not have to deal with multiple passengers a week and once you drop me off at my friend's house or other places you are free to do whatever you like. The only requirement is you have your own car, you have a valid license, you are a good person and you are willing to have a good (safe) Christmas with me. face mask will be required

I reside around ogudu ... Let's talk
