I buy with First Bank. You can't be wrong with them.
I am confused, people say if buying in primary market below 50M I must go with bank rate but when I filled the form yesterday I specified my own rate 18.5 for 364days and I chose not to follow bank rate. The lady accepted the form and said its okay. I don't know if the bid will go through since I did not go with bank rate.

Its very simple. Approach First bank or Stanbic and ask to buy TB. Today when i enquired from my Client Officer he told me they had only 32 days at @ 18.2%. If you had bought into that with yr N100k today you would have been paid a discount of N1,595.00 at around 4 to 5pm today and then wait for the next 32days to have yr account credited with your N100k.
Treasury Bill money instrument is borrowing the Fed Govt money to use and return on a given number of days at an agreed interest with your bank. Practice with what you have little by little, it will instill in you a good savings culture. You will begin to see the need to save more money since as you can see you stand to earn more as your principal grows and the prevailing interest rates as it is now are competitive. Try yr hands on it this week if you know you can afford to have your N100k kept for 30 days or or more.
my oga pls do you buy with stanbic?
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Cation(m): 12:38pm On May 31, 2017

InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Cation(m): 4:10pm On May 30, 2017
I don't understand this whole stuff. This morning I filled a treasury bill application form at stanbic ibtc for tomorrow's primary Auction and I specified my own rate. The lady accepted the form and did not complain about below 50million stuff

You will only have the opportunity to bid for yourselves in primary market these days if the money you intend to invest is up to 50 million if not. You will have to go with whatever the bank you use decides to offer cos are not in a position to bid.
I just returned from stanbic ibtc and I specified my rate. The representative told me I will get notified if my bid was successful or not. Even ARM securities allow you to bid for yourself.

PinocchioDMZ:
364days you can bid 18.5% or 18.6% for Primary Auction to be on a save side because the last auction was 18.7% stop rate.

364days you can bid 18.4% for secondary market.
Thanks

Wrong. MMF is also rated per annum
moreover, if u see 17% on their website it is gross rate I. e management fee of 1.5% or less will be deducted. It still pays better than 92days treasury bill anyway.

First bank restricted me from bidding in the primary market, I was offered secondary rates market from first bank of Nigeria.
170days - 17.2%
163days - 17.45%
please I don't understand this 163days and 170days tenure because it's not up to the normal 192days. are they going to still pay the interest for 192days or they just calculate the interest for 163days and pay.

they are pathogens and considerable number of them are harmless thats why u rarely fall sick consuming them, they (the beneficial pathogens )help in general body metabolism, help in digestion and building immune system,in contrast, there are harmful ones that cause typhoid fever ,thats why it's advocated to boil water before use
Next time you have to tell us the name of individual bacterium in your post so those who aren't microbiologists nor food scientists can understand better. Basically the microorganisms that cause waterborne diseases include salmonella, shigella, Escherichia coli, pseudomonas, vibrio cholerae, campylobacter etc. For safety reasons boiling our drinking water very well can help destroy some of these microorganisms. You guys don't bother, drink water to live and not die.

Because first Bank is the only bank of all that's close to my locale

Thank you Sir
you can open your ARM money market fund account online and also fund your account online, carry out fund redemption online. u get your statement of account online. everything has being made easy for u. I do all my transactions online so I have never being to their office. Their customer service is very good and ready to assist you anytime.

OK.. Thanks a lot!
Truly ARM money market fund displays rate of 17.17% on their website but they actually pay 15.6% currently. This is because a management fee of about 1.5% or below is deducted from the gross yield of 17.17%

I agree. The ARM money market fund makes a whole lot of sense.

What I like the most is its flexibility. Minimum investment if I remember correctly is 1k.

This means I can put into the fund any spare cash I have (the odd 50k here, 200k there, etc) knowing fully well it would yield interest and I do not have to wait for an auction date or "make a bid" as it is the case with treasury bills. As with treasury bills, you can also select the option of reinvesting any accured interest.

I can also withdraw the funds anytime I want and withdraw any amount I want. Usually takes them 48hours to action any request.
you have said it all, thanks for the buttress.

T-bills 91 days current rate is 13.7999% and yes all deposits and bonds have applicable 5% VAT deductible from earnings.

So you are correct that T-bills yield more than FD however the downside is that you cannot liquidate your T-bills before expiration while you can do so for your FD but with 25% deduction from interest amount.
I think that is why a money market fund is cool, u can cash out anytime since your money grows everyday, the rates may not be equal to a 1yr treasury bill but for now I receive a rate of 15.5% from ARM and I make withdrawals anytime I like while my balance keeps yielding.
