Foreign AffairsAlabama's Governor Has Signed The Nation's Strictest Abortion Law by CeeJay9ja(op): 12:04pm On May 17, 2019
Alabama now officially has the strictest abortion law in the US

Gov. Kay Ivey on Wednesday signed the controversial Alabama Human Life Protection Act, which outlaws almost all abortions in the state, nearly 24 hours after the Republican-controlled Senate voted to send Ber the bill without adding exceptions for victims of rape and incest despite impassioned pleas from their Democratic colleagues.

"To the bill's many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians' deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is sacred gift from God, " Ivey said in a statement.

Ivey added that the bill, which won't take effect for six months, "closely resembled an abortion ban that has been a part of Alabama law for well over 100 years"

As a result of the new law, doctors in the state could face up to 99 years in prison for performing an abortion unless a woman's health is at "serious" risk.

The legislation has garnered intense outrage from Democratic lawmakers, civil rights groups, and people across the country, even concerning dome antiabortion Republican lawmakers who grappled with how restrictive the measure was.

The ACLU had reportedly said that it will sue the state of the bill became a law, reminding women that "the bill will not take effect anytime in the near future and abortion will remain a safe, legal medical procedure at all clinics in Alabama"

Politics672 Nigerian Children Lost Their Lives To 2017 Bombing- Report by CeeJay9ja(op): 10:46am On May 17, 2019
Report revealed that no fewer than 672 children were killed in Nigeria as a result of bomb explosions in 2017, especially by the Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East region of the country.

The report was released by Save the Children, a non-governmental organisation, noting that Nigeria was the fourth deadliest country with child casualties resulting from explosions, after Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria respectively.
The 24 pages report discusses the impact of explosive weapons on children in conflict.

The report read in part, " Across five of the deadliest conflicts for children in 2017, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Nigeria and Iraq, we can see that of the 7,364 children killed or maimed in conflict in 2017, at least 5,322 were linked to explosions. Armed conflicts around the world are exacting a devastating toll on children. In 2017, nearly a fifth of all children were living close to conflict-with 142 million children living near areas of intense fighting. In the world's worst modern conflicts, children are exposed to explosive weapons-rockets, mortars, grenades, mines and improvised explosive devices..

" In Afghanistan, 2,216 were killed or maimed in explosions out of a total 3,179, in Yemen, 814 were killed out of a total 1,316, and Syria, 1,058 out of a total 1,271. In Nigeria, 672 children were killed out of a total 881 children, who represent 76 percent"

" Our key findings include; children are more likely to die following explosion injuries than adults. Two, children re overwhelmingly likely to experience head injuries which is a significant cause of death in young children"

PoliticsMiyetti Allah Agrees Demanding N100bn From FG by CeeJay9ja(op): 9:17am On May 17, 2019
The National Secretary, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Mr. Saleh Alhassan, has clarified that his group indeed demanded N100bn from the Federal Government to pay herders for the construction of ranches and not for amnesty as reported on social media.

He claimed former President Goodluck Jonathan made a promise to offer them the stated amount which informed their decision to give him their mandate for his re-election in 2015.

The controversial group chief, however revealed that after Jonathan lost the election and left, the initiative was suspended, hence the matter was once again presented to President Muhammadu Buhari government.

" People that are saying they have given Miyetti Allah N100bn to stop kidnappings are just beng mischievous because from what we have observed, there are certin people that are twisting narratives", he said.

He further lamented that some Nigerians didn't want any kind of support to come from the government for livestock development.

" If we are going to have ranches definitely, some support would come from government," he said.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and some government officials had come under fire last week for allegedly promising to pay Miyetti Allah N100bn as amnesty to curb the rise in banditry, kidnapping and killings.

FoodHameed Ali: Imported Rice Is Poisonous - Customs Boss by CeeJay9ja(op): 5:36pm On May 16, 2019
The Comptroller-General, Nigeria Custom Service, Col. Hameed Ali(rtd) at a news conference organised by the Ministry of Finance in Abuja on Thursday appealed to Nigerians to avoid eating foreign rice because it is poisonous.

He further declared that the Federal Government had not issued licence for importation of rice and that any rice seen on the streets that was not produced in Nigeria was smuggled. He explained that the reason imported rice is poisonous is because before it comes into the country, it must have spent a minimum of five years in the silos.

" A chemical must have been added to sustain its freshness and that chemical is harmful. It has been re-bagged with a new date given as the production and expiry dates, and that is what we consume here which causes diseases. So, I appeal to Nigerians to please patronise our own rice, it is available, more nutritious and if you do that you will assist Customs by making sure these people are put out of business", he said

He added that if Nigerians stop buying the imported rice, smugglers will go out of business and there will be no need to bring it in.

CrimeCourt Jails Three Ex-convicts 120 Years For Illegal Possession Of Arms by CeeJay9ja(op): 11:33am On May 16, 2019
The State High Court has sentenced three ex-convicts- Musbau Oloyede, Femi Olasupo and Ahmed Akinsanya who were arrested in 2011 by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for terrorising
residents in the Iwo Road area of Ibadan, Oyo State 40 years imprisonment each on Wednesday.
It was gathered that neighbours of Olasupo had reported him to the police alleging that he had no source of livelihood and there are people of questionable characters living with him.
These ex-convicts, after rigorous trial that lasted about seven years, were found guilty of conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms by Oyo State High Court in Ibadan contrary to the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Laws of the Federation.

According to the prosecution in the suit marked 1/1786/2012 heard before Justice Adegboye Gbolagunte of the Ring Road High Court 7, the first accused person was arrested in March 2011.

During investigation, he led detectives to an uncompleted building along Iwo Road were four guns were recovered. Olasupo's arrest led to the arrest of Oloyede who also had some firearms in his possession but the third accused person was arrested with no arms in his possession.

The Judge said,
" In my view, the recovery of firearms in possession of the accused is sufficient to justify their guilt. It was my decision after the trial-within-trial that the accused feel guilty of conspiracy. They were jailed together at Ilesa Prison and released at about the same time. Count one is well founded and sustained in this case. I, therefore, hold that the accused are guilty of the offences as charged," he said.

PoliticsWhy Benin Republic, Others Get Stable Electricity Than Nigeria-TCN by CeeJay9ja(op): 9:09am On May 16, 2019
The Managing Director, TCN, Usman Mohammed has revealed the reason behind unstable power supply in Nigeria whereas Benin Republic and some other countries experience stable power supply. Nigeria supplies about 80 percent of the total quantum of electricity consumed in Benin Republic but Benin has more stable power supply than Nigeria, TCN has said.

Nigeria, through the TCN also supplies power to the Republic of Niger and Chad, and these countries are classified as international customers in the Nigerian power sector. Usman Mohammed explained the reason why these neighbouring countries get better power supply is because they have better electricity distribution networks and he advised that power distributors in Nigeria should pay a visit to these countries to learn.

He added " In Nigeria, you know that we have what we call cross arm, where they (Discos) put woods between the wires on distribution lines. But you won't see a single cross arm in the whole of Cotonou. You have a straight and good distribution network there"

He further said "we cannot have a stable grid unless we have an adequate investment on the distribution side and that is why we have been calling for a recapitalization of distribution companies. They need to have a commensurate investment on the network"

RomanceChange Your Mindset, Think Positive by CeeJay9ja(op): 9:58am On May 15, 2019
We have to curb the rate of suicide in this nation.

Take a little of your time to read the summary of this article....

Do you know your mindset is your friend and can also be your enemy? Many problems and sicknesses we face today is as a result of our mindset. Your thoughts alone have the power to make you sick or healthy, rich or poor, successful or fail.

The purpose of this article is to let you know you can do beyond people's expectations and make your expectation limitless. Be confident, be psychologically balanced and be fearless. One with negative mindset finds it hard to sleep at night.
Let me tell you a short story about my life. I traveled to one or the West African countries and I found myself in the midst of men into cyber crime and I was persuaded to join them else I won't survive it. I was convinced severally but my mindset made me believe there is always another way out. Yes, I will suffer but it is temporary. Today, I have found a job

Remember to use your mindset for the right purpose.

Be a Big Dreamer.
The bigger your dream, the bigger the goals you will achieve. To be successful, you have to dream big. All successful men and women are dreamers. They continually allow their minds to float freely when they think about what is possible for them.

Most people are held back by their self-limiting beliefs. The way you burst these mental chains is with a dream list. The fact that you would love to have someday means that you probably have within you, right now, the ability to achieve it.

Change Your Belief
To change your performance and your results in any area of your life, you have to change your self-concept or your belief about yourself in that area. Beliefs are largely based on information which you have accepted as true with evidence or proof. The worst belief one can have is self-limiting belief. These beliefs cause you to feel limited or deficient in a particular area. You need to work on your imagination as well. When you imagine you can become great in life you need to stand by it and never doubt that belief. The first thing is to eliminate your fears and release your potentials with a positive mindset and courageous belief about yourself and your future.

Conclusion
When you look around you and find out what the happiest and most successful people in your society have developed as their core beliefs, then get the same set of beliefs for yourself. Load them into your mental drive and start running the same programs they are running and see how your life will chnage for good.

PoliticsHaving Issues On PVC Collection? Share Your Experience by CeeJay9ja(op): 4:54pm On Feb 04, 2019
It is no longer news that something fishy is really going on as regards PVC collection. I went last month to Ojo Local Government office to get my PVC and they referred me to IBA LCDA where I actually did the registration. I was told they stopped issuing PVC. What happened to February 8th as announced? I don't understand. I think a lot of people have been given one excuse or the other. If this election will be free and fair, then why are they trying to disenfranchise some Nigerians?
