That's the difference in industrialization between the two countries. Nigeria, generally has a Long Way to Go in that aspect. Although we have many seasoned professors in Nigeria that have had international research collaborations.

We are doing well in medicine because the students were made to learn on the job during their clinicals , but reverse is the case for engineering students, that’s my point

The German apprentice program is same idea of technical vocational schools and polytechnics.
Universities are for design research and analysis.

A mechanic is one trained to handle tools for installation, repair and maintenance of particular equipment.

A diesel mechanic will be totally clueless when it comes to fixing an helicopter fault unless he's specially trained to do so. Repairs are not taught in universities. Prove me wrong by giving a link of any university in the whole world where how to repair generators or engines are taught.

Mention any university in the whole world that has a course on how to troubleshoot And repair generators. Repair can be learned on the Field or via OEM certifications.

I don't know about the rich home back in 80s and 90s cus I was from a poor home, but I disagree with you on mannerless and poor homes who grabs meat before eating. That's a lie. Majority of our peer groups who are also poor also eat meat last after the food finish. That's how we were taught. Sometimes it's only one meat for three siblings to share so how dare you want to touch the meat when others haven't finished eating.

I believe there's a cultural angle to it... Growing up, my cousins, whether richer or less privileged than I was, were All eating their meat/ fish last.
