Politics › Re: Seven States Depends 190% Of Revenue On Loan Repayment by ceejayluv(m): 1:36pm On Jun 04, 2025 |
nairalanda1: LOL....the fact is, even with looting removed, and you can never eliminate looting because most Nigerians support it...our earning power as a nation is very weak
Our budget should be, at least, 200 trillion naira. Instead it is 30 trillion naira.
That shows that there is something wrong with our leaders since independence...and even wrong with today's leaders, If they cannot improve our leadership potential, and earning potential...
I always say this on this site, and people dey abuse me, because they do not get it. The question I really ask by my commentary is why isn't Nigeria earning 10 times more than it earns now.
It does not mean I excuse corruption. We are so broke, that the corrupt people stealing from our money make the matter worse for all of us. I've always had that opinion that we're not earning enough, don't get me wrong. But why looting the little one That can be managed? It's like a minimum wage earner squandering his income on hoes and drugs because it's not enough to provide luxury for his family. The "little" revenue should be managed And checks put in place as we look for ways to boost the budget. |
Politics › Re: Seven States Depends 190% Of Revenue On Loan Repayment by ceejayluv(m): 11:54am On Jun 04, 2025 |
nairalanda1: Erm, the problem is, remove looting, and the money is still not enough.
I wish I was lying.
All budgets are given before looting commences. The looting should be taken out First. If they had More, they'd only end up looting far More. |

nairalanda1: A hospital in the USA spent 2 billion dollars to expand its facilites. (It was in Kansas).
2 billion is not enough for a state like Bayelsa, especially when the bills are paid, loans are paid and things like the NDU..a university owned by the state...and salaries are paid for. Then throw in the fact that things like a road contract in Bayelsa would be more expensive than say Gombe or Kano or Kaduna because of the terrain....and to even improve waterways transport would cost the earth.
Note that I am not excusing the governor. Or any bad government. Just telling you that Nigeria as a whole is not earning enough money...and the fact is why our current leadership is bad.
Infact the day you realize that Canada education budget for 30 million people is higher than Nigeria's total budget for 200 million people, then you go know that leadership in this country get as e be. NO innovation, nothing. If they could reduce looting by 90 percent, in over twenty years now there would have been More progress than this. |
Politics › Re: Seven States Depends 190% Of Revenue On Loan Repayment by ceejayluv(m): 7:11am On Jun 04, 2025 |
nairalanda1: Bayelsa gets 700 bn for budget this year
That is 443 million dollars, less than what one hospital in the USA spends per annum. Or what another hospital in the USA used to expand facilities
Nigeria is not a rich country. The day you realize this is the day you know why our leaders are bad, and why we haven't had good leaders Before the devastating Naira devaluation, they were getting circa 1 billion dollars with nothing to show for It as well. No be today. Nobody prevented them from maximizing their IGR. |
