The Imo State governor, Gov. Rochas Okorocha, has revealed that the state government will name Douglas Road after 10-year-old boy Somtochukwu Ibeanusi who died on Aug. 26 during Eke Ukwu Market demolition and relocation. Okorocha said that any other building to be erected on the site of the demolished market would also be named after the deceased. The governor’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, announced this in a statement in Owerri on Thursday. He said; “Not minding how and where the 10-year-old boy, late Somtochukwu Ibeanusi died on the day the Eke Ukwu Market was demolished and relocated, I will honour him by naming Douglas Road after his name. “I have liberated Owerri indigenes from a wicked clique made up of few families in the area who have held the people captive for many years.” The governor said that the boy’s death was still confusing as he died in Mbaise Road while the demolition took place in Douglas Road. He said that irrespective of the circumstances of the child’s demise, the present government would still give the deceased his due respect by immortalising him. Okorocha said that the immortalisation was necessary since Ibeanusi died the same day Owerri residents were liberated. The strike by Nigerian resident doctors may last longer than anticipated by government, as another meeting between both parties has again been deadlocked. The meeting lasted from dusk to dawn today, even as talks are expected to resume anytime from now. Government and the doctors are meeting to review the offer authorities made to the striking doctors, when they last met. The doctors are demanding the payment of salary arrears, and an improvement on their working conditions. The strike, which started last week, has crippled activities at public hospitals across Nigeria. The co-founder of WhatsApp, now owned by Facebook Inc (FB.O), Brian Acton, will leave the messaging service company to start a new foundation, he said in a Facebook post.. Acton spent eight years with WhatsApp, which Facebook bought in 2014 for $19 billion in cash and stock. A Stanford alumnus, Acton co-founded WhatsApp with Ukrainian immigrant Jan Koum in 2009. Detectives attached to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Lagos Command, have arrested the killer of Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo, a Catholic priest serving in Imo State. The suspect, identified as Raphael Ndukwe, was tracked down to his hideout in the Ajangbadi area of Ojo, based on a tip-off. Recall, Fr. Onunkwo was kidnapped in Imo State by gunmen on Friday, September 1, 2017 from his car and taken to Omumma, where his body was found the next day. He was returning home to organise the funeral of his late father when he was abducted. Ndukwe is the leader of a kidnapping gang that had been terrorising Imo State for many months. He escaped to Lagos after four of his members were arrested in the state. Ndukwe’s gang was also allegedly responsible for the kidnap of one Gloria Emordi who was said to have visited Imo State for a burial ceremony on April 22, 2017. On arrival in Lagos, the suspect, nicknamed Tiger, settled down with some of his friends who operate as thugs at the Alaba International Market, Ojo, but later fled to Ajangbadi, when the heat on him became hot. But the police in Lagos finally tracked down the 29-year-old suspect and arrested him on September 10, 2017. Soon after his arrest, he confessed to some of the crimes he committed both in Lagos and the South-East. The told the police that this was not the first time he would be escaping to Lagos after engaging in a criminal operation. The mentally challenged woman, who delivered a baby by the roadside in Ondo state on Thursday, August 24, has been honoured by the governor of the state and his wife.. The baby who is currently receiving care from a local government social worker simply identified as Odunsola has been named after Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. In a post shared by a Facebook user Femi Oladokun, the baby obtained a certificate of birth on Monday, September 12. She received the certificate at Okitipupa local government council. Oladokun noted that the baby was named Morenike Betty Akeredolu. Super Eagles star man, Victor Moses has reacted to reports and suggestions that he always fakes injuries to avoid playing for the African giants and he picks and chooses the games he plays for Nigeria..  In what is Louis Van Gaal’s first interview about the manner of his Old Trafford exit, the Dutchman has blasted Manchester United for going “behind his back” in replacing him as manager with Jose Mourinho in 2016. The 66 year old was sacked 48 hours after winning the FA Cup and Mourinho was appointed less than a week later.  American, hip-hop legend, Dwayne Carter, popularly known as Lil Wayne,has been discharged after his recent hospitalisation. Wayne had suffered multiple seizures on Sunday, hours before a scheduled performance in Las Vegas. The award winning rapper was found unconscious in his room and was subsequently rushed to the hospital. However, according to TMZ, Lil Wayne has said he would be taking a break from work following the doctors’ orders bordering on his discharge.. The rapper’s recent episode was said to have been caused by his very busy schedule and inadequate sleep, not his codeine cough syrup addiction that was responsible for previous seizures. The rapper reportedly said he would be taking two weeks off from tour having been advised to avoid overworking himself. In an interview with Evening Standard, Anthony said; “If people can ride with me for the next 10 to 12 years I would really appreciate it, but if they can’t foresee the future I’d rather they jump off the boat because I can’t stop for no one right now. “I was speaking to my coach, who worked with Carl Froch who had a 12-year career.
