Police arrest wanted kidnapper and three cultists in Delta
Operatives from the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected notorious kidnapper who has been on the command’s watch list.

The feat was achieved when the X-Squad and Buffalo Patrol Teams of the command stormed a suspected criminal hideout along Ibusa Road last Sunday and arrested the 42-year-old suspect, Chiadiji Collins, alias “Smooth,” who has allegedly been responsible for a series of kidnapping activities within the Ibusa/Ogwashi-Uku, Issele-Uku, and Asaba axis of the state.

The spokesperson of the command, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, July 31, 2025 said the suspect, Chiadiji Collins, upon interrogation, led the operatives to his residence in Ewulu community, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, where a search warrant was executed.

During the search, one AK-47 rifle and forty (40) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered.

The statement further disclosed that preliminary investigation also led to the arrest of one Ezechie Andrew of the same community, in whose possession two pump-action guns and two live cartridges were recovered.

Both suspects are said to be gang members suspected to be involved in a series of kidnappings in Ogwashi-Uku, Issele-Uku, and other parts of Delta State.

In a related development, three members of the Eiye Confraternity have been arrested in the university town of Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

“On 30th of July 2025, at about 0630hrs, operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS), acting on credible information, stormed a criminal hideout at Big Gate, Campus III, Abraka, where one Benjamin Okwufulueze, 21 years; Augustine Ifeanyi, 22 years; and Iruma Japheth, 27 years; were arrested. One fabricated Beretta pistol with four live ammunition was recovered," the statement read.

“Also recovered were one black cap with Eiye inscription and one battle axe. The suspects confessed to being members of Eiye Confraternity. They are all in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, the State Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda, has urged parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from all forms of criminality and cult-related activities.

He also advised members of the public to contact the police and report any suspicious persons or movements in their environment.

TravelSmall European Nation With No Airport,no Currency But Richer Than Most Nations by Celestialsword(op): 11:59am On Jul 31, 2025
Nestled between Switzerland and Austria, Liechtenstein remains one of Europe’s most fascinating hidden gems. Despite its tiny size, this nation functions uniquely without its own airport, independent currency, or even a native official language—German is borrowed, and the Swiss Franc is used.

Yet, Liechtenstein is ranked among the richest and safest countries in the world, boasting fairy-tale castles, pristine alpine landscapes, and a crime rate so low that most residents don’t even lock their doors. Its strong banking sector, thriving manufacturing industry, and progressive social policies contribute significantly to its prosperity and enviable standard of living. Recently, a viral Instagram video showcasing its rare lifestyle and near-utopian living conditions sparked worldwide curiosity.

Many were amazed at how a country so small and unconventional could thrive economically while offering unparalleled safety, natural beauty, and a high standard of living.
Europe’s wealthiest nations runs without its airport, language and currency

Liechtenstein’s geographic location is stunning, but its infrastructure is unusual. It does not have an international airport, requiring travelers to fly into Switzerland or Austria and drive across the border. The country also does not have its own currency, instead using the Swiss Franc (CHF).

Even its official language, German, is borrowed rather than a native tongue. Despite these unique characteristics, Liechtenstein operates efficiently, embracing simplicity while maintaining strong international ties.
Liechtenstein shows that greatness isn’t measured by size. With its distinct governance, robust economy, and cohesive society, it has cultivated an impressive quality of life. To many, it stands as a modern-day utopia where prosperity, tranquility, and scenic beauty blend effortlessly.

Second-wealthiest country in Europe with almost zero crime
Liechtenstein has a population of more than 30,000 people but ranks as the second-wealthiest country in Europe per capita, surpassing even Britain’s royal wealth in GDP terms. This prosperity stems from low taxation, a strong banking sector, high-tech industries, and zero external debt. Residents enjoy financial security that allows them to focus on hobbies, family, and personal passions rather than working out of necessity. Cultural norms discourage showing off wealth, favoring a humble and community-driven lifestyle.
One of Liechtenstein’s most fascinating aspects is its exceptionally low crime rate. With only about seven people in prison and around 100 police officers in the entire country, safety is ingrained in everyday life. Many residents do not bother locking their doors at night, reflecting deep social trust and a sense of mutual respect rarely seen in other parts of the world.

Liechtenstein
Social media calls Liechtenstein a dreamlike European paradise
The viral Instagram video described Liechtenstein as a “hidden gem of Europe” with stunning natural beauty, medieval castles, and snow-capped Alps. Social media users expressed awe, with comments such as “It looks like a dream” and “This is what life should be everywhere.” Travelers who have visited echoed these sentiments, praising its peaceful environment and breathtaking landscapes.
5 key facts about Liechtenstein
One of only two doubly landlocked countries in the world
Liechtenstein is one of just two nations globally—along with Uzbekistan—that are doubly landlocked, meaning it is surrounded by countries that themselves have no coastline.

Despite this geographical limitation, the country is nestled between Austria and Switzerland in the Alps, making it a popular winter sports destination. Covering an area of 160 square kilometers, roughly the size of Washington D.C., it is the third-largest among Europe’s six smallest states (after Andorra and Malta but larger than Monaco, San Marino, and Vatican City). Around 40,000 residents call it home, with Schaan being the largest town, even though Vaduz serves as the capital and is better known internationally.

A constitutional monarchy with a small civil service
Liechtenstein is a parliamentary constitutional principality that blends monarchy with democracy. Its 1921 constitution defines the country as “a constitutional, hereditary monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis.” The executive branch includes a five-member cabinet nominated by parliament and appointed by the prince for a four-year term. Remarkably, the government employs only 1,500 civil servants—less than 4% of the population, compared to an EU average of around 17%.
The legislative branch consists of 25 parliamentarians, also serving four-year terms.
Liechtenstein
Second-highest per capita income in Europe
With an average income of US$197,000 per year, Liechtenstein ranks second in Europe for per capita income, just behind Monaco. This wealth stems from heavy investment in research and development (6.2% of GDP) and a strong manufacturing sector, which includes machine and tool engineering, plant construction, and the production of precision and dental instruments.
Manufacturing accounts for 42% of the economy’s value-added output, well above the EU average of 15%. The financial sector, focused on private banking, wealth management, insurance, and trust services, adds another 20% of GDP.
More jobs than people
A unique feature of Liechtenstein’s economy is its labor force. While the country has about 40,000 residents, it supports 42,500 jobs, thanks to a high number of cross-border commuters from Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. Nearly 59% of these commuters come from Switzerland and 37% from Austria. Labor participation is high at 76.1% (compared to 74.9% in the EU), and unemployment remains under 2%, reflecting an exceptionally strong job market.
Small but globally connected
Despite its small size, Liechtenstein maintains deep economic integration with global markets. Major export partners include the United States, Germany, and Switzerland. As a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), Liechtenstein has access to the EU single market, including financial services, under free movement rules for services and capital. Its financial institutions, overseen by the European Banking Authority, have expanded wealth management services to Asia and the Middle East. Close ties with Switzerland

PoliticsWe Were Disappointed In Nnamdi Azikiwe ---ojukwu Former Aide by Celestialsword(op): 8:41am On Jul 31, 2025
Kanayo Esinulo, who served as a media aide to the late Biafran leader, General Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has expressed disappointment over the role played by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe during the Biafran struggle.

Esinulo said the dissatisfaction with Azikiwe’s actions was not just emotional but rooted in how he exited the struggle.

He explained that many young Biafran fighters felt betrayed when Azikiwe traveled to Liberia and later to Lagos to meet Nigerian leader Yakubu Gowon without proper consultation.

He emphasized that despite internal disagreements within the Biafran leadership, Azikiwe's approach was seen as undermining the collective efforts.

According to him, General Ojukwu never aligned with Azikiwe or his associates throughout their time in exile, choosing instead to engage other prominent Nigerian figures like Tunji Braithwaite and Obafemi Awolowo in political negotiations.

In his words, "I think the anger is clearly traceable. It's clearly traceable to the way he exited the Biafran struggle."

"You don't keep young boys 19, 22 years in the trenches, and they're announcing to us that we have gone to Liberia to consult Tubman to beg Yakubu Gowon. It wasn't proper."

"There were also those who disagreed with Emeka's policies. Owechwe, for instance, from Oguash. I think he's a relation of Ngozi Okonjo."

"They disagreed. At that point, he was Biafran ambassador to France, Biafran representative in France. But he didn't just quit. If he gave Emeka advice and he's not taking it, it's not for you to call a press conference and go to Liberia to meet Tubman."

"After meeting Tubman, I will go to Lagos and meet Yakubu Gowon. That's the anger we have for him today. There was no time Emeka sent me to NPP."

"No, Emeka would not send you to an Azikiwe protégé or Jim Nwobodo, his man in Enugu. We were all disappointed in Zik."

"That's the truth. Any other thing somebody else is telling you is being diplomatic. We were disappointed. And throughout our exile, I don't know when Emeka sent me or Emaka or Emeka Njere to a Zik associate."

"He sent me to Tunji Braithwaite, he sent me to Awo, he sent me to a lot of people. Even in our consideration after the formation of PDF, which was our negotiating ground."

Onokussie:
By Emeka Chiaghanam

The faucet drips once. Then twice. The sound echoes through a small kitchen just before dawn. Outside, a crow calls and wind pushes hard against the pane. A woman stirs eggs. A man lays out her favorite mug, the one with the chipped handle she won't throw away. They don't speak, but in that silence, love lives.

That’s how it often is. Not fireworks, not grand gestures. Just steady hands doing quiet things. Love, the real kind, the kind that lasts past slammed doors and unpaid bills, lives in the margins. It breathes in the mundane, in little acts done with big meaning. The rest? That's just noise.

This isn’t advice from a fairy tale. No perfect lighting, no violins. Just the gritty, solid stuff that holds people together when the honeymoon's over and life starts demanding more than it gives. And funny, right? The smaller the act, the more it matters. So, let's talk about the nine little acts that keep love alive, every damn day.

1. Making the Bed—Together or Apart

A bed isn’t just a place you sleep. It’s where you laugh, argue, whisper your fears, and wake up half-tangled in someone else’s warmth. Making it each morning is a way of saying, “We’re still here. We still care.”

It’s not about tidiness. It's about discipline. About respect. In military barracks, making the bed is the first task of the day, done right, it sets the tone. In relationships, it signals intention. Stanford research shows that small rituals done consistently boost emotional stability. Couple that with the dopamine kick of completing a task, and you've got a practice that quietly bonds.

Even if one partner sleeps in, do it. It’s a small win. A signal of continuity. And in a world spinning fast, continuity matters.

2. Touching in Passing

Not everything has to be sexual. A brush of the hand on the back. A palm against the shoulder. A slow squeeze as you pass each other in the hallway. These moments build what psychologist Dr. John Gottman calls a “love map.”

Touch is a primal language. Before we spoke, we reached out. Long before roses and candlelit dinners, we leaned on each other for warmth and survival. Studies show that affectionate touch, holding hands, hugs, even a light pat, lowers cortisol and increases oxytocin, the so-called “bonding hormone.”

So don’t wait for intimacy. Create it, slowly. Daily. Silently. A passing touch says, “I see you.” And more importantly, “I still want to.”

3. Sharing the Load Without Being Asked

Dishes piled in the sink. A trash bag full and sagging. The car’s fuel light blinking again. You could wait. Or you could just do it.

Love thrives in the unspoken. When you share burdens before they become complaints, you’re saying, “I’ve got your back.” Not because you were told to. Not because it’s your job. But because you care.

A 2019 Pew Research study showed that shared responsibilities ranked nearly as high as fidelity in what makes a successful marriage. That’s huge. So take out the trash. Refill the soap. Clean the damn filter. It might not be romantic, but neither is resentment—and that one builds fast.

4. Listening Without Solving

Most people just want to be heard. They don’t need answers. They need a witness.

It’s tempting to jump in with solutions, especially for men. “You should…” “Why didn’t you…” But love asks for presence, not blueprints.

Sit. Listen. Nod. Let the silence stretch without rushing to fill it. Ask questions like, “How did that make you feel?” Or, “What do you need right now?”

This reminds me of a 2018 Harvard Business Review piece that found couples who felt “emotionally validated” during conflict were 50% more likely to report high relationship satisfaction. Listening doesn’t just fix problems, it prevents them.

5. Saying “Thank You”—Out Loud

It sounds obvious. But in long-term love, we stop. We start assuming things are known. That our partner knows we appreciate the dinner, the ride, the patience. But assumptions rot relationships.

Gratitude is a muscle. Use it, or it withers.

Say “thank you” like you mean it. Look them in the eye when you do. Even if it’s something small, a coffee made just the way you like it. Or something routine, picking up the kids. Each “thank you” is a drop of water in the reservoir you’ll both draw from during dry spells.

Psychologists at UC Davis found that couples who expressed gratitude regularly were more committed and less likely to break up. So yeah, say it.

6. Checking In During the Day

A text that reads, “How’s your day going?” can be a lifeline.

We’re all busy. Jobs, deadlines, traffic, stress. But a message, just one line, can cut through the fog. It says, “I’m thinking of you, even now.”

Don’t overthink it. Don’t make it poetic. Make it human.

It could be:

“Hope that meeting didn’t suck.”
“Grabbed your favorite bread.”
“Miss you.”
It doesn’t take effort. It takes intention. A 2015 Journal of Communication study found that digital check-ins boost feelings of closeness, especially in couples juggling distance or work stress.

Send the damn text.

7. Laughing at Inside Jokes

Every couple has them. That weird nickname. That time the lasagna exploded. The squirrel that attacked your sandwich during a picnic. They’re little memory-stamps. And they matter more than you’d think.

Laughter is more than joy, it’s armor. When the world is cruel, when money’s tight, when the baby won’t sleep, those private jokes become anchors.

Shared humor increases resilience. According to a study by University of Kansas, couples who laugh together are more likely to endure hardship without turning on each other.

So keep the inside jokes alive. Tell them again. And again. Even when you’re tired. Especially then.

8. Noticing Changes (And Saying So)

She got a new haircut. He shaved his beard. They started wearing cologne again. Most people don’t make these changes out of vanity. They do it hoping someone notices.

So notice.

Say, “You look good today.” Say, “That shirt brings out your eyes.” Say, “I love your laugh. I still do.”

The key here is specificity. General flattery dies fast. But real, sharp noticing, that cuts deep. That says you still pay attention. And when people feel seen, they bloom.

This act alone, genuine noticing, can slow the slide into emotional neglect. A place no relationship recovers from easily.

9. Letting Them Be Themselves

This one’s the hardest. And the most important.

You fell in love with a person. Not a project.

Too many lovers become silent sculptors, chiseling away until the other person fits a vision they once saw in a dream. That’s not love. That’s control.

Love means letting them have their moods. Their music. Their ugly pajamas. Their need for quiet. Their sudden, inexplicable hunger for fried yam at 10 p.m.

It means holding space. Backing off. Letting go of small battles. Picking peace over perfection.

This act, this surrender, isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom. Because the truth is, no one stays the same. We all evolve. So the one you love today won’t be the same in five years. And that’s okay, if you both make room for that change.

Last Thoughts

Love isn’t loud. It doesn’t always announce itself. Most days, it whispers.

It’s in the way two cups are set out even when one person’s running late. In the way someone remembers to turn on the porch light before the other gets home. In socks folded just the right way. In silence shared without the need to fill it.

It’s in these nine little acts, so small, they’re easy to miss. But miss too many, too often, and love starves.

Let’s be honest. Relationships are work. Even the best ones. Maybe especially the best ones. But not all work is backbreaking. Some of it is simple. Some of it is slow. Some of it is soft.

And the ones who last? They don’t just love hard. They love well.

One small act at a time. Every day. Even on the days they don’t feel like it.

Especially then.
What you listed up there are all pretex, those acts are not love but trying to please one another.

You will live like this for decades without knowing one another.

Love is showing your real self to your partner
PoliticsFashola Warns Against Erasing History by Celestialsword(op): 8:11am On Jul 30, 2025
Former governor of Lagos State and ex-Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, has called for the preservation of Lagos history to avoid distortion and promote values, particularly as the discussion on street naming in Lagos continues to create controversy.
He stated this on Tuesday at the public presentation of “Discover Lagos State: A History Puzzle Book (Volume 1)” held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

At the event, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, also echoed the importance of documenting the state’s history, hailing the Lagos State Records and Archive Bureau for the timely presentation of the book.

Fashola referenced the works in the digital archives of the University of Glasgow, noting that the past works of the university’s staff and students played a role in influencing the historical development in other countries, even in the area of landmarks.

He said records also contain information about the first Nigerian students at the University of Glasgow at the time, including Dr Issac Ladipo Oluwole, who was enrolled in 1913 and graduated in 1918.

Referencing the archive, Fashola said, “Dr Ladipo Oluwole returned to Nigeria to become the first African medical officer of health in the Lagos colony.

“He pioneered school health services, with school inspection and vaccination of children in their schools, and started the first Nigerian school of hygiene at Yaba in Lagos in 1920. So that’s the Ladipo Oluwole. But the records were kept well in Glasgow, Scotland.

“So those of us who drive through streets such as Ladipo Oluwole Street in Ikeja will probably now understand and contextualise the contributions of such a man and why it was considered such a high honour to immortalise him by naming a street in his memory.

“But it is perhaps instructive that we are discussing street naming and street unnaming and I keep my gunpowder dry,” he added.

“Today I reiterate those words about street naming and Dr Oluwole and with a greater conviction to reinforce my message that the preservation of our history and the documentation of our progress should be taken seriously,” Fashola said.

Nearly all the countries colonized in Africa took the colonialist language as their lingua franca) official language).

African's were living primitively during the precolonial era,so, when they came, their language was the only means of communication as they cannot speak the different languages of the African's.

They came with education and religion and their language was the only medium of communication as books were written in their languages.

Many of the natives were sent back home to acquire education which they brought back.

Africans were thought on modern ways of doing things and using better and modern tools in carrying out their daily activities.

By the time these African countries gained their independence, the colonialist language has already became part of them.
