AT 83, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye speaks of death with the casual authority of a man describing a well-planned trip home. On Thursday, August 7, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) declared how his end would come, before millions gathered at the Old Auditorium of the Redemption City of God, at Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. “It’s going to be on a Sunday. I would go to Church for service, dance very well and return home. I will eat pounded yam, then I will go,” he said leading members of the Church on series of prayers on the topic ” Possessing your Possession.” Adeboye said nobody should bother to ask him how he knew the day of his transition, as he ministered during the evening session on Monday, Day 4 of the week-long 73rd Annual Convention of the RCCG tagged “The Overcomers,” Adeboye said nothing makes it compulsory for people to die only after illness. He said this while leading prayers on divine healing. The other prayer points at the convention were on prosperity; fruitfulness; long life and war against forces of darkness. The cleric, who laced his sermon with relevant scriptures, read from 2 Corinthians 8:9 to justify that prosperity belongs to Christians. He urged members of the Church to reject poverty, a weapon the devil relies upon to halt the spread of the gospel. thenationolineng.net |

Ilamina:Ethiopia is one of the oldest countries in Africa;[1] the emergence of Ethiopian civilization dates back thousands of years. Abyssinia or rather "Ze Etiyopia" was ruled by the Semitic Abyssinians (Habesha) composed mainly of the Amhara, Tigrayans and the Cushitic Agaw. In the Eastern escarpment of the Ethiopian highlands and more so the lowlands were the home of the Harari/Harla that founded Sultanates such as Ifat and Adal and the Afars. In the central and south were found the ancient Sidama,Semitic Gurage and Omotic Wolaita, among others. Medieval map of Ethiopia, including the ancient city of Berera, which is located in modern-day Addis Ababa One of the first kingdoms to rise to power in the territory was the kingdom of D'mt in the 10th century BC, which established its capital at Yeha. In the first century AD, the Aksumite Kingdom rose to power in the modern Tigray Region with its capital at Aksum and grew into a major power on the Red Sea, subjugating South Arabia and Meroe and its surrounding areas. In the early fourth century, during the reign of Ezana, Christianity was declared the state religion and not long after, The Aksumite empire fell into decline with the rise of Islam in the Arabian peninsula, which slowly shifted trade away from the Christian Aksum.[citation needed] It eventually became isolated, its economy slumped and Aksum's commercial domination of the region ended.[2] The Aksumites gave way to the Zagwe dynasty, who established a new capital at Lalibela before giving way to the Solomonic dynasty in the 13th century. During the early Solomonic period, Ethiopia underwent military reforms and imperial expansion, allowing it to dominate the Horn of Africa. |

The reason why this is most prevalent in the south east is that this is their value system. It has been inculcated in them from their youthful age for ages. The south east leaders should fight this scourge instead of diverting their attention to Biafra,a worthless cause. If this trends continues, the Igbo race will be sanctioned from visiting countries in other continents. But the sad part of it is that they are giving the entire country a bad image. |
