KosiGee: Everyone is blaming the Chinese but no one is blaming members of an elite group of Nigeria police force who stood there foolishly stretching out their hands and accepting currency notes!!
This is sacrilege. If you guys are not embarrassed, I am. We have sunken very low. No shame , where’s our pride as a nation if a corrupt Chinese person would pull out wads of currency notes, get our police men to line up, dash out money to them while another Chinese was recording them on video? The aim of that of that video was to embarrass and laugh at Nigeria by the Chinese and their government and to prove how stupid, unprofessional, corrupt and inferior that Nigeria is…that’s how the Chinese see us.
We should all bury our heads in the sands. Pls stop blaming the Chinese. They say when you are Rome, you act as the Romans. The Chinese were simply adapting to a a culture in an environment where anyone with a little something in his pocket can behave anyhow.
It reflects badly on Nigeria as a nation that these people would come in here rape our lands and people, physical abuse Nigerians and get our compromised security agents to do as they wish.
That man should be in jail and all those members of the Nigerian police force seen in that video do not deserve to wear that uniform. Imagine a British, American or even Rwandan police men accepting money from a Chinese man on video!! The police men in the video should not be blamed entirely. Is guarding foreign nationals their primary duty, they didn't go there on their own,the Chinese contacted their boss, and paid for the service. To make it worse is the fact that their boss give them peanuts after collecting large sums from the company. All the blame goes the government that has entrenched corruption in all the institutions in the country with their lopsided and patronizing policies. It has gone deep to the extent that any foreigner that comes in notices it and they have no choice than to play along. There is a saying that if you live in Rome do as the Roman does |

The Nigeria police force has been reduced to a mere security guard to both foreign nationals and high networt Nigerians who can afford their services.
Some of them wash their principals cars, carry madams bag to the market and take the children to school.
Their bosses collects money for this services and give them peanuts, the police need to be sanitized,it reeks of corruption practices from top to bottom.
This is not the primary duty of the police.Their duty is to maintain order and secure life and property.
This is demeaning and a slap on the face of the police institution and Nigeria as a country.
No wonder, the police is short of men to carry out their primary duties |

Goodadvice01: I have been thinking over this issue for almost a week now but I can't seem to come up with any solution.
I decided to learn barbing from the best hands in my state as against coming to Lagos now. My initial plan was to learn it from now to December so that by January I'll come to Lagos as advised by some nairalanders. But the only problem I'm facing is that the apprenticeship fee is high, infact, I can't afford it to say the least.
So I decided to submit more CV and application letter. I submitted cv's to ten hotels and two filling stations on the 14th and 15th though I'm yet to hear from any.
If I'm hired anytime soon, my plan is to be removing 20k/25k from my salary and be paying it to the barbing salon every month so that when I'm done paying the apprenticeship fee by year end then I'll resign from the job and start learning the barbing work.
Is this a doable task? Can I achieve this? There's nothing one cannot do,if he focuses his/her mind on it. How old are you. You are on the right track. How much is the money and what is the duration of the training Save the money in a bank and when it is complete, you can pay it at once, instead of paying in piecemeal. During the training, avoid anything that will make you not to complete it. |

It's unfortunate that this is still being practiced, displed and passed from one generation to another. . Air Peace has brought to light the inspiring story of Gold Chinyere Ike, the first woman in Umuerim Umukparo in Mbala, Umunneochi LGA, Abia state, to board an aeroplane.
Her maiden flight with Air Peace has since captivated hearts across social media, becoming a symbol of how access to air travel can inspire dreams and open doors.
A graduate of Nursing from Abia State University and an entrepreneurial farmer, Chinyere captured hearts across Nigeria when she took to social media in late March 2025 to chronicle her very first flight experience. Her heartfelt post, brimming with wonder and unfiltered awe, quickly went viral, drawing attention to her humble background and the profound significance of a moment many take for granted.
“When we were on air, I could see the sky differently,” she recalled, eyes still wide with the memory. “Down here, we look up to the sky. But when you’re flying, it’s almost like the sky is beneath you. I couldn’t stop thinking about how such a heavy plane could stay up there.” This moment, years in the making, had its roots in childhood whimsy. Chinyere fondly remembered walking with her father and seeing aircraft streak the sky above their community. “I used to say they were throwing down gifts like in Christmas stories,” she laughed. It was a fantasy that bloomed into reality—one that earned a celebration not just for her, but for an entire community.
Touched by her story, the Air Peace Corporate Communications team journeyed to Mbala to meet her in person. The team was met with a jubilant welcome—drums beating, the Egede dance troupe in full display, and townspeople flooding the dusty roads in awe and gratitude. For Chinyere, it was surreal. For her family, it was history. “I didn’t know what to expect,” she said with emotion.
“That you people came to my village just because of me. I’m grateful. The community is so happy.” Specifically, the visit served not just to honour her story but to reinforce Air Peace’s commitment to connecting even the most remote communities to opportunities across Nigeria and beyond. The delegation that represented Allen Onyema, Chairman/CEO, presented her with two complimentary return Economy tickets to any domestic destination of her choice, along with branded souvenirs.
In his message Onyema noted that “Ms. Gold Chinyere Ike’s journey represents exactly why we do what we do. Air Peace was founded not only to provide safe and affordable air travel, but to make flying accessible to everyday Nigerians—women, men, young people—regardless of their background,” adding “we believe that when people move, dreams move with them.”
Visibly stunned, Chinyere expressed heartfelt thanks to the airline and its Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema. “I never expected this,” she said, smiling through tears. “Air Peace is the biggest, not just in Africa, but worldwide.” Kudos to the staffs and management of Air peace. Good initiative. |

Politics › CBEX Crash:efcc, interpol Begins Probe As Nigerians Lose Trillion to Ponzi Scheme by Celestialsword(op): 7:42am On Apr 16, 2025 |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and INTERPOL have commenced a probe of the recently crashed online digital trading platform, CBEX, as it reportedly swept its investors funds amounting to N1.3 trillion.
The spokesperson of EFCC, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
This comes as CBEX was reported to have crashed on Monday, with Nigerians taking to their social media to express pain.
The CBEX, operated by a group of foreign nationals in collaboration with their Nigerian partners with offices in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, and other parts of the country, collapsed, leaving their investors stranded as they were unable to access their funds.
Reacting to the development, Oyewale confirmed that the commission had already commenced an investigation into the scheme before its eventual collapse.
He explained that efforts were underway to arrest both the local and international operators behind the fraudulent scheme.
“We are actively working to handle the CBEX situation. We will collaborate with other regulatory agencies to ensure that Nigerians are protected from this kind of scheme. We will do our job—where recovery is possible, we will recover; where prosecution is possible, we will prosecute.
“Overall, we will do our best. Additionally, there are similar frauds across the country that people are unaware of, and we are working to uncover them. We are on the local collaborators while we are partnering with INTERPOL to trace the foreign operators,” he stated.
Oyewale further warned Nigerians to exercise caution before committing funds to any financial entity not duly registered with regulatory bodies.
“We urge the public to verify any investment opportunity with the CBN and SEC before engaging. The EFCC remains committed to safeguarding the public from predatory operators and ensuring a corruption-free economic environment,” the statement added.
The CBEX crash has sparked reactions from Nigerians on X in the last 48 hours.
Explaining the CBEX crash, cryptocurrency expert and security analyst, Taiwo Owolabi said the total volume of stolen investors’ funds so far in USDT is $847 million.
CBEX woos its investors with an offer of 100 percent return on investment in 30 days, he said in a recent X space he hosted.
Meanwhile, other sources argued that the amount lost to CBEX was significantly less, indicating that at least $6.1 million has been deposited into the fake exchange account of the scheme.
In his reaction, Steve Fred, a user on X, wrote on Tuesday:
“Are we not just fantastically stupid in Nigeria?
“Nigerians are as gullible as their leaders. How many times will they be scammed before they have sense?
“How can a company like ‘CBEX’ just appear from thin air and promise you 100 percent ROI in 1 month, and you begin to invest?”
Another user, known on X as Oku, reacting to the CBEX crash, said:
“The smaller the profit, the more I TRUST YOU.
“You have no business doing a business that promises you 50 percent to 100 percent ROI.”
Although Nigeria’s Security Exchange Commission has not issued a fresh statement on CBEX, the commission spokesperson, Efe Ebelo, reiterated the commitment to clamp down on unregistered digital investments and Ponzi schemes.
Earlier, the SEC warned Nigerians to beware of ponzi schemes and unregistered trading platforms.
This comes as the Director-General of the commission, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, said with the ISA 2025 recently signed by President Bola Tinubu, it is now an offence for any entity to operate an online forex trading platform or provide related services without prior registration with the commission.
DAILY POST reports that Ibadan residents in Oyo state stormed and looted the office of CBEX.
Meanwhile, the CBEX offices in Lagos and Abuja remained under lock and key as of Tuesday.
Recall that in the last eight years, Nigerians have been particularly susceptible to several Ponzi schemes.
In 2016, it was Mundial Moneybox, MMM, before it crashed.
After MMM’s crash, Ultimate Cycler took root in Nigeria before it collapsed with investors’ funds trapped.
MBA Forex Trading and Capital Investment Limited, Twinkas, D9 Club, Famzhi Interbiz Limited, Red King’ Chinmark Group, Brisk Capital, and Ovaioza Farm Produce Storage are some of the Ponzi schemes that have defrauded thousands of Nigerians of funds amounting to billions of Naira.
