AgoraRoad:This is a good question but was are running a small scale production outfit and not a multinational business sir. We will be supplying mostly mallams and market women within our environment so going into nitty gritty details doesn't cut it here. We are simply running demand and supply type of business which will be driven by a good quality product that is well branded. Perhaps we would be exploring a coloured soap for a brighter wash. It wouldn't be wise for me to disclosing every nitty gritty of such details online. |
AgoraRoad:I believe so and profitable too. According to my friend, he already started making sales with the little quantity he did when he started. He couldn't keep up due to finances and lack of support. So I figure out he would man the production while I do the marketing and supplies. From his experience, it's a profitable business which can be diversified into liquid soaps and even aftershaves. |
I have a friend who is into soap making. He is presently jobless and he has a family to cater for. He met me and we discussed on opportunities he could explore which includes farming. We later concluded that small scale Soap production is still the most viable. He told me everything that is needed to start which includes the following. *PK and Soda Ash. *Stamps for branding the soap bars. *Soap Cutter. *Branded cardboard boxes for packaging and supplies. *Transportation itinerary. We presently have no cash at hand, however I have explored the family and friends option which is not forthcoming. So I figured out I could dispose a heir Thermocool deep freezer that is still very new and in a perfect working condition so we can raise the required working capital to start production. However, I am still not clear on how to go about this and if it's a worthwhile risk. Your valuable contributions will be appreciated. |

Bootybuttchic:I'm working with ideas on creating a unique design for smart casual wears. So the machines may come in handy. |
Bootybuttchic:Yes, if you're good at making smart casuals for both male and females. |

Too far...I'm in Lagos. |
@Ifyalways, can you please send me contacts of the ones you know. I'm around Lagos and ready to meet any of them. |
I decided to fix the machines and get them working. Thanks to Vixo for stopping by. I'd like to meet someone who is good at making men's clothing especially smart casuals. We might be able to do something together. Thanks. |
Vixo:"Someone I know who is in dare need". Were you the one who called me? |
Thanks @GHojes. I'd also like to mention that the business failure I suffered was because I was involved with a wrong partner who had ulterior motives. He wasn't all out for the business to succeed so it was easy for him to bail out when we had problems. |
Thank you very much SonOfLucifer. About the self evaluation test, i would say I've always been an artistically creative person. I also have the ability to learn fast so picking up a new skill shouldn't be a problem especially if it has to do with being creative. This is why the suggestion about 3D animation sounds like a very good option. I'm also considering cinematography/video editing and special effects. Perhaps that would enable me work with or set up a multimedia studio. I also love music and at a point during my undergraduate days, I was able to make good sounds on FL Studio 8. Therefore I have no doubts that I'm talented in some ways. I also have my weak points which contributed to me eventually dropping out from school. I took a 6 unit French language course only to discover I wasn't good with languages. I failed the course twice. That alone had done an irreparable damage to my CGPA. In answering your question @stillfire I was studying International relations. In the mean time, i'm already midway through with my Bsc in Entrepreneurship. In another Institution with support from my mom. In between leaving school and now, I've also taken a course with Lagos business school and a free course online. |
Thanks again @pidggin I quiet understand that my actions and inactions may be the reason I find myself here today but as it is now. I can't help but be a bit more sensitive as regards the issue at hand. I also understand that my situation is not peculiar as there are lots who are even in a worse situation. So maybe yes, I can learn to be more assertive. However, the issue of being too sensitivity can be attributed to nature and there are also good sides to it. Coming out here is to avail myself the opportunity to seek wise counsel so as to achieve the much needed success I desire. |
Thanks @Guitarlife . I'm actually computer savvy and very conversant with wordpress. Although I've been thinking along the line of App development but for fear of the bandwagon effect it will soon experience just like web designers. So what 3D animation software would you recommend just in case I have access to a good laptop. |
