2. Peter Obi said he was not in support of bringing back fuel subsidy and said himself and Atiku were on the same page. He further said he was going to moderate the fuel price. The interviewer ought to have dug deeper for him to elaborate on what he meant by "moderate the fuel price".

3. Peter Obi said the president had never slept anywhere in Nigeria for three nights. The president is on record to have slept at least three nights in Lagos during religious festivities, and spends most of his time in Abuja. The interviewer failed to fact-check this.

4. Obi said negotiations for coalition ought to be done at the party (NDC) level. However, his visit to Rotimi Amaechi with Sir Victor Umeh, and his visits to Seyi Makinde were done without party officials. Ostensibly, it was argued that he wanted Rotimi Amaechi to step down. Amaechi refused.

5. Peter Obi said no one offered him the vice presidential position.

6. Obi said the president had no business spending Sallah in Lagos. Obi argued the president ought to send Sallah in Sokoto with the Sultan and Kano where people will be gathered to discuss the future.

7. Obi spoke repeatedly of lifting people out of poverty in the north, sending Almajiri to school, and subsidy in agriculture. Obi failed to talk about how he would bring development to the other regions. He makes it appear as if the north is the only region with problems.

8. Obi claimed the INEC worked against him. When pressed for proof, he side-stepped it. He said he'd have a dual electronic transmission from the polling unit to his own situation room. He ended up explaining one system.

9. Obi was asked about the 1966 coup. He said he should not be held responsible for what happened when he was four years old. In my view, it is time to stop asking him about something that happened 60 years and 8 months ago. It is also wrong to brand every Igbo as being responsible for the actions of some irresponsible bad eggs who never had the mandate of the Igbos. Journalists should stop bringing up that incident as a talking point. In my view, Obi handled this question very well.

Overall assessment: Obi failed to articulate a clear plan if he is elected. He regurgitated the same buzzwords of capacity, competence, character and the son of nobody becoming somebody without knowing anybody mantra. He said things which were inaccurate, like the president not sleeping in Nigeria for three nights. He contradicted himself on the subsidy matter. He seems uninformed about happenings within the polity. He seems exhausted, as he has not exactly said anything new or interesting. As usual, his followers will ask Tinubu to present himself for an interview as they'd have no talking points from Obi's outing.
