You are definitely not far from the truth sir. All the big four welcome applications from every field and basically more non accounting students get the available slots. Later they write ican and get cahrtered and thats it. The prospects of studying accounting per say is regularly diminishing. I mean whats the need when i can read crop science and become a chartered accountant, den comfortably take over a job meant for management students.

pls am a new student planning to write nov 2017 or may 2018 diet. i need clarification, will i pay for exemption before i can write exams or without paying for exemption i wont be allow to write cos i dont have money for exemption and money for exams at hand i can only afford one. thanks

the sad tale is that you have to pay for exemption before proceeding to pay for exams, its a process, you cant do the other without doing one. If you dont pay for exemption, on your dashboard, you will have to writr the foundation level papers first, so exemption helps you clear them

Ok this is my one cent of contribution. I discovered one very vital secret as regards ican exams. If you peruse your study pack very well, you will discover that the marks you are looking for is divided into sections, some part 20 Marks, some 15 some 20. Lets take fr generally for instance, the whole of consolidated financial statements and financial statement analysis and evaluation comprise a whooping 60 marks. So it would be very detrimental to go to this exams withouth doing proper justice to this two sections with acca past questions. I did this and i hit 76 in my first attempt at FR(thats by the way). So it is for other papers, there are key areas that they can not dugde but test. Also i will say that trend analysis will also help you know where to focus more, remember your number one goal is to pass the exam, so you have to be smart. Finally, you have to make sure you attempt all the questions, all of them, 1 to 5. Thats the key of beating the 50 margin. Afriend of mine once told me he entered the exam hall and attempted 3 questions on pm amd landed on 48. Imagine if he attempted all, he would have crossed the pass mark. So you have to make sure he try your hands on all. This is my testimony on sfm, i woke up that wednesday morning after the tiredness of writing corporate reporting and tax, i felt like not going for the exams because i was so so not prepared because i didnt revise, this i thought to myself, but i told myself that if i absent myself, its automatic reference, so i picked my tools and head out, After the whole thing that day, could you believe that i made 69 in that same paper. Yes God did it. I attempted all five questions. This is just my little contribution. Success to us all.
