Phones › Best Single SIM Smartphones To Buy In 2025? by CentralBank(op): 9:18pm On Sep 01, 2025 |
Hello Nairalanders,
Please I need your advice. I’m looking for a good single SIM smartphone to buy this year. Most phones I see around are dual SIM, but I prefer single SIM for personal reasons.
If you are currently using a single SIM device, or you know reliable brands/models I should consider, please share your recommendations.
Thanks in advance. |

Rubyjade: Mr. Chibuike Nwandu's decision to cancel his wedding after discovering his fiancée, Miss Chidimma, was having an affair with a Catholic Priest is totally understandable. This shocking revelation must have been a huge betrayal of trust, making it impossible for him to proceed with the marriage 😔.
A supporting argument for his decision is that trust is foundational in any marriage. If Miss Chidimma was already engaging in an affair, especially with someone as spiritually significant as a Catholic Priest, it raises serious questions about her commitment and integrity. This breach of trust would likely create an unhealthy dynamic in their marriage.
Also, emotional well-being is crucial. Mr. Nwandu deserves to be in a relationship where he feels valued and respected. Given the circumstances, calling off the wedding and cutting ties might be the best decision for his emotional health 🌈. This situation highlights the importance of choosing a partner wisely and ensuring that both parties share mutual respect and trust . Why does this writeup sound so much like something written by ChatGPT? |

Investment › How Do I Close My First Bank Account? by CentralBank(op): 9:18pm On Apr 17, 2025 |
I have an account with first bank. I have no interest in using the account again. I wish to close it. However, Nigerian banks, for whatever reason, don't like closing bank accounts.
I don't want the account to exist again. Even leaving it dormant looks inconveniencing.
Is there anyway I can close it, maybe online or something? Since they don't like doing it at the branch?
PS: There is nothing wrong with the account. No loans or default whatsoever. I'm just not interested in using it again as I have other bank accounts. |

malali: Any individual or organization promising returns above 5% monthly should immediately raise suspicion. In normal, legitimate markets, such yields are unsustainable and statistically improbable without extreme risk or hidden agendas.
If someone offers returns above 10% and they’re not the federal government issuing official bonds or treasuries, you’re likely dealing with a fraudster or a Ponzi-scheme operator.
It is the duty of the Nigerian government to: Flag and investigate unauthorized investment entities Issue clear, consistent public warnings Educate citizens on realistic return expectations Crack down on predators weaponizing economic desperation
This is not just a “mistake” or “bad luck.” People have lost entire life savings. Retirees. Students. Single mothers. Breadwinners. Lives have been shattered because of unchecked financial predators. Oga, if the government warns Nigerians, same Nigerians will troop to the social media to inform the government that they have the right to do whatever they want with their money. They will tell the government to focus on development and allow them to do whatever they want to do with their money. |

MadamVanessa:

I am not justifying the action of the preacher by preaching in such an early hour. But again, Christianity is not respected at all, because of how meek christians seems to be. Was all that insults necessary?
I am telling you boldly, If it was the culture of Muslims to be preaching as christians preach on streets or corners, nobody would dare try this with any Muslim, even if he preaches by 1:00am , nobody will have the guts to confront the Muslim preacher, especially in Muslim dominated areas. You dare not, because the trouble you're looking for, the Muslim folks will give you overdose.
Sometimes I just wish Christians could be more radical. It's no longer funny. Don't wish for Christians to be radical. I have read the history of the dark ages of the church... the early days of Christianity during the medieval period. |

malali: While the call to improve the living conditions of local church pastors is understandable, it is essential to recognize that the congregation itself largely comprises individuals on minimum wage or even unemployed. The commercialization of worship, which should be free and dedicated to glorifying God, is fundamentally flawed and contradicts biblical teachings.
Commercialization of Worship: The notion that pastors should live in luxury while their congregation struggles is antithetical to the spirit of Christianity. Worship should not be a means for financial gain but a pure expression of faith. Jesus himself condemned the commercialization of religion, as seen in Matthew 21:12-13, where he drove out the money changers from the temple, declaring, "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers."
Congregational Hardships: Many members of these congregations are barely surviving on meager incomes. With unemployment and poverty rampant, it is unjust to divert resources that could alleviate their suffering towards maintaining an opulent lifestyle for church leaders. The focus should be on serving the community, not on personal enrichment.
Biblical Perspective on Leadership: True leadership in Christianity is about servitude, not luxury. Mark 10:43-45 emphasizes that those who wish to lead must become servants, following Jesus' example of humility and self-sacrifice. Similarly, 1 Peter 5:2-3 instructs leaders to shepherd their flock willingly and eagerly, not for selfish gain but as examples to the believers.
Financial Accountability: General Overseers must ensure financial accountability and transparency. The significant disparity between the wealth of church leaders and the poverty of their congregations is a clear sign of misplaced priorities. James 5:1-5 warns against the hoarding of wealth and the exploitation of workers, highlighting that such actions are condemned by God.
The focus should not be on increasing salaries to exorbitant levels but on ensuring fair compensation that reflects the economic realities of the congregation. Church leaders must embody the principles of humility, service, and selflessness that Jesus demonstrated, prioritizing the welfare of their flock over personal luxury. ChatGPT? |

I've discovered that closing a bank account is a big deal in Nigeria. The bankers will frown and refer you to the marketing unit, who will then give you a thousand reasons why you shouldn't close the account.
